8. Check that the windshield wipers operate normally. 9. Be sure to master the hand signals used in day-today work in the work site so that you can get support when operating the machine in a narrow location and when doing work in a location where the field of vision is restricted. 10. Before traveling with the machine or working at night, check that the lights and signals all work completely. 11. Before traveling with the machine, check that the latches on the door and hood are securely fastened. 12. Check that no tools or the like have been left in the undercarriage area of the machine, on the upper structure, or in the operator's compartment. 13. The operator who operates the machine always rides alone on the machine. No passengers are allowed. Do not stand on the machine. 14. Before entering or leaving the cab, check that the upper structure frame is parallel with the undercarriage. 15. When entering or leaving the operator's compartment, always face the machine and use the steps and handrail. 16. Memorize the position and function of each control section. Incorrect operation of the control section could cause serious injury. 17. Before working, check that all control sections and safety devices are in a safe and unobstructed position. 18. Do not go near any waterway, overhanging land, location with many rocks, etc. Before using the machine, investigate the work site and check that there is nothing dangerous. 19. Before parking the machine, check that the ground is stable. Make preparations beforehand so that this machine can work on level, flat, solid ground. 20. When moving the machine, check the place it is being moved to and investigate beforehand anything that might cause an accident. Holes, obstructions, debris, and other hazardous items on a work site can cause a serious accident. 21. Be prepared to deal with any emergency situation. Keep a first aid box on hand at all times. If possible, have a fire extinguisher (not supplied with the machine equipment) right at hand. Periodically service the fire extinguisher according to the manufacturer's instructions. 22. Check that the counterweight, turntable bearing, and operator's compartment are securely fastened. If there is any problem, consult your CASE CONSTRUCTION dealer. 23. Understand the symbols used on the machine's safety labels and decals. Keep the labels and decals free from fouling and missing sections so that they are always legible. 24. Practice escaping from the machine (use the windshield or rear window as an emergency exit) in case the cab door cannot be opened or closed or the machine falls over. 25. Make certain that the traffic regulations and safety equipment requirements are reliably known before transporting this machine on public roads. 26. When doing loading and unloading work with a truck, absolutely do not swing the load on the truck cab. 27. Before traveling with the machine at the work site, check that the schedule is reasonable. When crossing a bridge, check that the bridge can withstand the weight of this machine. 28. When traveling with the machine, avoid large rocks, trees, and other large obstructions.
Quick coupler (optional) 1. It is mandatory for the switch to be in the locked position when operating the machine. 2. Every day, check that the locking bar functions correctly and that it is not fouled by foreign matter. Clean the locking system if necessary.
