2 - SAFETY INFORMATION###_2_### Safety rules The operator must pay attention for the sake of their own safety and the safety of those in the area. Reading and understanding the contents of this manual is indispensable for correctly operating, inspecting, refueling, and servicing this machine. Read this manual carefully and check the following. • Understanding of control section symbols and the safety signs used on this machine and in this manual • Understanding of the speed characteristics, stability characteristics, brake characteristics, and steering characteristics of this machine If you have any questions, consult your CASE CONSTRUCTION dealer. The safety information in this manual assumes various situations that may arise during normal machine operation or service. The multiple methods to deal with these situations are covered in the safety information. Also, other safety information to indicate warnings concerning specific hazards are used throughout this manual. The safety measures used in the work site must comply with the related laws of the nation regardless of the type of work (construction work, loading and unloading work) or work environment, or must be suitable for the type of work (digging, quarrying, underground work, etc.) The instructions concerning safety in this manual are summaries of basic rules that must be complied with at all times. They do not exempt one from the obligation to comply with insurance requirements and traffic laws. Store this manual in the location where it can be read whenever necessary (back of the operator's seat). Always check that this manual is complete and in good condition. Before using the machine 1. Loose fitting clothes and long hair may get caught in the machine. Always tie up long hair and wear a hat or helmet. 2. The protective gear required depends on the contents of the work. Helmet, safety shoes, thick gloves, reflective jacket, breathing protective gear, protective gear for ears and eyes, etc. are required. Check what protective gear is required before starting work. Always wear the protective gear. 3. Carefully read the information and instructions on safety in this manual and understand them completely before operating this machine. 4. Operating the machine requires careful attention. Accidents can be avoided by the operator paying attention. Understand the capabilities and limitations of the machine and the work space it requires. Within the range of operation of the machine are areas where visibility is poor. When working in a location where the field of vision is restricted, follow the guidance from the guide. 5. Grease, oil, mud, and ice (winter) on steps and handrails can cause accidents. Check that steps and handles are clean. 6. Inspect the machine every day and check that there are no signs of hydraulic oil leaks. Tighten the connectors as necessary and replace any parts with problems. 7. Remove any obstructions that interfere with the field of vision. Keep the windshield, rear view mirror, and windows clean at all times. 2-1
