relevant information

Most European riders will not encounter any issues in Spain, as a European Union country.

INTERNET ACCESS

All hotels on our tour route offer Wi-Fi access, ensuring you can stay connected and share your experiences without interruption. Additionally, it is possible to request access to Wi-Fi in most places where we stop for lunch or coffee, allowing you to stay connected.

LUGGAGE INFORMATION

This is an adventure-style tour with no support van. You can leave your luggage suitcases at our Málaga store and carry your belongings on the motorcycle. All our motorcycles are equipped with a top case and side panniers for your convenience.

RIDING SAFELY IN ANDALUSIA

ON THE ROAD: SAFETY FIRST

Your safety is our top priority. Always wear your helmet, gloves, jacket, and boots while riding to ensure maximum protection.

GET TO KNOW YOUR MOTORCYCLE

Before we set off, take some time to familiarize yourself with your motorcycle. Adjust the controls to your riding preferences and ensure you are comfortable with them. This is essential for a smooth and enjoyable ride.

ROAD RULES AND LAW ENFORCEMENT

The road rules in Spain are generally similar to those in your home country. Remember that in Spain vehicles drive on the right-hand side of the road. If you are used to riding on the left side, inform your tour guide at the start. We recommend following the tour guide closely until you feel fully comfortable. It is essential to respect the speed limits to avoid fines. Note that traffic fines can be sent directly to your home address.

relevant information

VARIETY OF RIDING SCENARIOS DURING THE TOUR

During the “Andalucía Highlights” Tour, you will experience a wide variety of roads and riding conditions. These diverse conditions require your full attention and riding skills. It is crucial to listen carefully to the tour leader and follow their instructions closely. Watch out for gravel or sand on the road, which can make riding more challenging. When approaching these curves, stick to the prescribed path and follow the tour guide’s instructions to maintain control of your motorcycle and prevent accidents. Your guide will provide the best techniques to safely navigate these sections, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride.

RIDING FORMATION: STAGGERED AND SINGLE-LINE FORMATION

We will ride in a staggered formation on wide roads and in a single line on narrow mountain passes. This approach keeps the group safe and well-organized. Riding on a motorcycle tour is different from riding alone or with friends; the group may have varying paces, but our main goal is to enjoy the journey, not rush.

STAYING WITH THE GROUP

When riding in a group, it’s crucial to stick together. The tour leader ensures everyone turns correctly when changing routes or exiting highways. Each rider is responsible for the rider behind them. If you don’t see the rider behind you, reduce your speed or stop and wait. This alerts the tour leader that something has happened, allowing them to return and assist.

IF YOU GET SEPARATED

If you separate from the group and reach an intersection without knowing if the group has turned, continue straight ahead unless someone is waiting for you. When approaching an intersection, slow down and check if the group is waiting within sight. This helps ensure you stay on the correct route and rejoin the group promptly.

relevant information

TOLL ROADS

While we aim to avoid highways as much as possible, there are times when we must use them. The tour leader will be the first to pass through the toll and then return to assist the group at automatic toll booths. To ensure a smooth process, always have your credit card or cash easily accessible. As you approach a toll booth, take your time to pay and proceed safely.

PURCHASING FUEL

Refueling is done whenever the guide indicates and is already included in our plan. The tour leader will typically stop to refuel the motorcycles at the end of each day before we head to the hotel, ensuring all bikes are ready to go in the morning. You don’t need to worry about fuel; the tour leader will consider the fuel needs of all motorcycles in the group, even those with smaller tanks. We will always refuel all the motorcycles, regardless of their current fuel levels.

Before joining the tour, verify that your credit card works without issues in Spain. It’s crucial to refuel with the correct fuel type: unleaded gasoline. Our tour leader is available to assist you with this task.

Fuel Types and Pump Colors:

Green pumps: For unleaded gasoline (Gasolina), including 95 and 98 octanes. Black pumps: For diesel (Gasóleo). These may also be beige color.

Always ensure you are using the correct pump to avoid any issues with your motorcycle.

MEDICINES

Bring a two-week supply of any regular medication, along with prescriptions for refills. Don’t forget prescription glasses and sunglasses, including a backup pair if possible.

MOTORCYCLE EQUIPMENT

As you get ready for your thrilling motorcycle adventure through Andalusia, it’s important to be well-equipped. Below, you’ll find a detailed list of essential motorcycle gear to enhance your comfort and safety during the journey:

Full-face Helmet: Opt for a high-quality, comfortable helmet. Your usual helmet from home is the best choice if it fits well.

Jacket and Pants: These should include protection for elbows, shoulders, knees, and hips. Choose items with water-resistant material like a Gore-Tex outer shell or an inner liner.

what to bring

Rain Protection: We recommend carrying a waterproof jacket and pants to wear over your motorcycle gear if it isn’t already waterproof. These items should be conveniently stored in your bike’s side or top panniers for easy access.

Motorcycle Boots: Water-resistant boots are ideal. Ensure they are comfortable and either tall or mid-height.

Gloves: Protective and comfortable gloves are essential. Having two pairs is advisable, one suitable for warmer conditions and another for colder, wet days.

Base Layers: Comfortable, breathable long-sleeved shirts and long pants that dry quickly are essential.

Mid-Layer: A fleece jacket should be worn under your main jacket on colder days.

PERSONAL ITEMS

Clothing: Pack various shirts, pants, and a comfortable coat or sweatshirt for cooler evenings. Include a swimsuit, socks, and underwear that are easy to wash and quick to dry.

Toiletry Kit: Keep it compact with essentials like a toothbrush, toothpaste, and shaving kit.

There will be no need for a support vehicle behind us, making the trip feel like a nice adventure ride with likeminded bike lovers, including our expert tour guide.
