We recommend that riders to purchase an eSIM or a local SIM card that provides internet and mobile network access in Morocco. Alternatively, you can opt for a digital eSIM card that will give you internet access in Morocco. We recommend the following brands:

• Holafly

• Airalo

Internet Access:

All hotels on our tour route offer Wi-Fi access, ensuring you can stay connected and share your experiences without interruption.

relevant information

LUGGAGE INFORMATION

During the tour, all your luggage will be tagged and transported in the support vehicle. We accept up to 2 suitcases weighing 23kg each per participant. All our motorcycles are equipped with a top-case, allowing you to carry your personal belongings such as:

• Rain Protection

• Spare Gloves

• Camera

This setup ensures that your main luggage is handled while you have easy access to necessary items throughout the ride.

RIDING SAFELY IN MOROCCO

ON THE ROAD: SAFETY FIRST

Your safety is our top priority. Always wear your helmet, gloves, jacket, and boots while riding to ensure maximum protection.

GET TO KNOW YOUR MOTORCYCLE

Before we set off, take some time to familiarize yourself with your motorcycle. Adjust the controls to your riding preferences and ensure you are comfortable with them. This is essential for a smooth and enjoyable ride.

ROAD RULES AND LAW ENFORCEMENT

The road rules in Morocco are generally similar to those in your home country. However, if you are used to riding on the left side of the road, please inform your tour guide at the beginning. We recommend following the tour leader until you feel comfortable riding on the right side.

VARIETY OF RIDING SCENARIOS DURING THE TOUR

In Morocco, you will encounter a variety of scenarios during the tour, ranging from the

relevant information

crowded cities of Marrakech to the desert roads and the winding roads in the Atlas Mountains. These diverse conditions require your full attention and riding skills. It is crucial to listen to the tour leader’s instructions and follow their directions closely.

Particularly in the Atlas Mountains, the tight curves and winding roads demand precise handling and careful attention. Be especially vigilant for sand on the road, which can make riding more challenging. When approaching these curves, adhere to the prescribed path and follow the tour guide’s instructions to maintain control of your motorcycle and prevent accidents. Your guide will provide the best techniques to safely navigate these challenging sections, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride.

RIDING FORMATION: STAGGERED AND SINGLE-LINE FORMATION

We will ride in a staggered formation on wide roads and in a single line on narrow roads. This approach keeps the group safe and well-organized. Riding on a motorcycle tour is different from riding alone or with friends; the group may have varying paces, but our main goal is to enjoy the journey, not rush.

STAYING WITH THE GROUP

When riding in a group, it’s crucial to stick together. The tour leader ensures everyone turns correctly when changing routes or exiting highways. Each rider is responsible for the rider behind them. If you don’t see the rider behind you, reduce your speed or stop and wait. This alerts the tour leader that something has happened, allowing them to return and assist. Additionally, a support vehicle will always be behind the group to help if needed.

IF YOU GET SEPARATED

If you separate from the group and reach an intersection without knowing if the group has turned, continue straight ahead unless someone is waiting for you. When approaching an intersection, slow down and check if the group is waiting within sight. This helps ensure you stay on the correct route and rejoin the group promptly.

relevant information

TOLL ROADS

While we aim to avoid highways as much as possible, there are times when we must use them. The tour leader will be the first to pass through the toll, and in the case of automatic toll booths, he will return to assist the group. To ensure a smooth process, always have your credit card or cash easily accessible. In Morocco, it is particularly important to have some Dirhams with you. As you approach a toll booth, take your time to pay and proceed safely.

MOTORCYCLE FAILURES

We carry a spare motorcycle with our support vehicle to ensure that any mechanical failure does not inconvenience our riders. Often, we are too far from a motorcycle dealer for quick repairs. The spare motorcycle allows us to quickly replace any bike that experiences a mechanical issue, ensuring that the tour continues smoothly and without significant delays for our riders.

PURCHASING FUEL

Refueling is done whenever the guide indicates and is already included in our plan. The tour leader will typically stop to refuel the motorcycles at the end of each day before we head to the hotel, ensuring all bikes are ready to go in the morning. You don’t need to worry about fuel; the tour leader will consider the fuel needs of all motorcycles in the group, even those with smaller tanks. We will always refuel all the motorcycles, regardless of their current fuel levels.

Before joining the tour, verify that your credit card works without issues in Spain and Morocco. In Morocco, it is necessary to always have Dirhams with you, as some gas stations do not accept cards. It’s crucial to refuel with the correct fuel type: gasoline. Our tour leaders are available to assist you with this task.

relevant information

Fuel Types and Pump Colors:

Gasoline/95 – When you are at a gas station, you will see pumps labeled “Essence” for gasoline.

Diesel – Known as “Gasoil” in Morocco.

Always ensure you are using the correct pump to avoid any issues with your motorcycle.

what to bring

PERSONAL DOCUMENTS

Passport & Driver’s License: Bring the originals along with one backup copy. Additionally, obtaining an international driver’s license is highly recommended.

TRAVEL AND MEDICAL INSURANCE

We will provide travel insurance for the duration of your tour starting in Malaga. Additionally, we recommend bringing your own travel insurance from your country that covers motorcycling and includes medical evacuation. Suggested companies to contact are:

AssistCard: https://www.assistcard.com – Suggested plans: AC 150 or AC 250.

Allianz Travel Insurance: https://www.allianztravelinsurance.com – Suggested plans: OneTrip Premier or OneTrip Emergency Medical.

MEDICINES

Bring a two-week supply of any regular medication, along with prescriptions for refills. Don’t forget prescription glasses and sunglasses, including a backup pair if possible.

ELECTRONICS

Phone: Consider getting a local SIM card. As soon as we arrive in Tangier, we will stop for you to have the opportunity to purchase one, which will provide access to the internet. Alternatively, you can opt for a digital eSIM card that will give you internet access in both Morocco and Europe. We recommend the following brands:

• Holafly

• Saily

Camera & Accessories: If you plan to bring a camera, include extra memory cards and chargers.

European Plug Adapters: Ensure you have adapters for Type C plugs (Europlug).

Bluetooth Helmet Headset: If required for communication.

MONEY MANAGEMENT

Credit and Debit Cards: Notify your bank of your travel dates and destinations. Cash: Cash is useful for small expenses. However, in Morocco, there will be places where it won’t be possible to pay with a credit card. We recommend having local

what to bring

currency on hand; something between 400€ and 600€ should be more than enough, depending on your spending habits.

You can exchange dollars or euros for Dirhams at the port in Tangier, usually with good rates. Banks generally offer better rates than hotels or street vendors. We will inform you about the best places to do this.

MOTORCYCLE EQUIPMENT

As you prepare for your exhilarating motorcycle tour through Morocco, it’s crucial to be well-equipped for the varying weather conditions you might encounter. Expect hot days, colder temperatures in the Atlas Mountains, and the possibility of some rain. Below, you’ll find a detailed list of essential motorcycle gear to enhance your comfort and safety during the journey:

Full-face Helmet: Opt for a high-quality, comfortable helmet. Your usual helmet from home is the best choice if it fits well.

Jacket and Pants: These should include protection for elbows, shoulders, knees, and hips. Choose items with a water-resistant material like a Gore-Tex outer shell or an inner liner.

Extra Rain Protection: We recommend carrying a waterproof jacket and pants to wear over your motorcycle gear if it isn’t already waterproof. These items should be conveniently stored in your bike’s side or top panniers for easy access.

Motorcycle Boots: Water-resistant boots are ideal. Ensure they are comfortable and either tall or mid-height.

Gloves: Protective and comfortable gloves are essential. Having two pairs is advisable, one suitable for warmer conditions and another for colder, wet days.

Base Layers: Comfortable, breathable long-sleeve shirts and long pants that dry quickly are essential. Avoid cotton and pack 3 or 4 sets.

Mid-Layer: A fleece jacket should be worn under your main jacket on colder days.

PERSONAL ITEMS

Clothing:

• 3 or 4 sets of shirts, t-shirts, shorts, and pants.

• Comfortable coat and/or sweatshirt for colder evenings.

• Comfortable pair of tennis shoes.

• Swimsuit.

what to bring

• Socks and underwear, easily washable in the shower or sink. Fast-dry preferred. 3 or 4 sets.

• Regular sunglasses, with a backup if available.

Toiletry:

• Small toiletry kit with toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shaving kit, and whatever else you may need.

Luggage:

• Medium-sized rigid luggage or soft duffel bag, to be transported in the support vehicle.

Its Kasbah is one of the most beautiful in Morocco, and since it is located off the conventional tourist route, it does not usually have many visitors. Riding on an ancient caravan route between the Draa Valley and sub-Saharan Africa will be another experience not to be forgotten!

After lunch, we will follow the same road to Ait Benhaddou, an ancient Kasbah famous for being a natural scenario for many famous Hollywood movies like Gladiator, Cleopatra, Asterix and Obelix, and Prince of Persia, among others. Several episodes of the popular Game of Thrones TV series were also shot in the old Kasbah. We will be able to walk through its alleys and admire the incredible architecture. Our destination for the day is Ouarzazate, a city south of Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, known as a gateway to the Sahara Desert. After lunch, we will start crossing the Atlas Mountains. Depending on the time of the year, we may notice the temperature gradually decreasing, and we recommend bringing along a warm jacket or sweater just in case. The sands of the desert give way now to green cedar forests surrounding us everywhere we look. We will continue our ride to Ifrane for a short rest and some reinvigorating tea. Ifrane, also called the ‘Switzerland of Morocco’, is known for its alpine-style architecture and nearby ski slopes and forests. A short final sprint for the day will take us to the imperial city of Fes, where a comforting dinner will be our reward from another extraordinary day of riding.

The last rest day on our road trip is an opportunity for us to know Fes, the second-largest city in Morocco, after Casablanca. The Medina of Fes is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is believed to be one of the world’s largest urban pedestrian zones. Modern Fes mainly consists of two old medina quarters, ‘Fes el Bali’ and ‘Fes Jdid’, and the modern urban area of Ville Nouvelle, constructed during the French colonial era. We will have a full day to explore everything Fes has to show us and then experience some of the most traditional dishes from Northern Morocco in our evening dinner.

Today we will leave Fes heading north towards the Rif area via the Ouergha Valley. The road will take us around the Bouhouda swamp, winding its way through the crests of the Riferous mountains and its magnificent views, passing through rural souks (Arab markets, or bazaars) until we reach Ketama. Arriving in Chefchaouen, we will check into our beautiful hotel and then enjoy the rest of the day getting to know the ‘Blue City’, as this charming town is also known. The gorgeous blue alleyways and blue-washed buildings will leave a memorable impression as we prepare to leave Morocco the next day. Time to savor more local specialties and to do some last-minute shopping in the leather and weaving workshops lining Chefchaouen’s steep cobbled streets.

Douro and Northern Portugal

Adventure

The “Douro and Northern Portugal Adventure” is a fantastic opportunity for any rider to explore two of the most wellknown regions of this lovely country in a different type of guided tour. Starting and ending in the iconic Porto, Portugal’s second-largest city, this unique experience will feel like a relaxing time away with two-wheel friends: motorcycles only, and no support vehicle, as the journey on the road is four-day long and the motorcycle boxes will be enough to carry all that is needed for the road.

Best of Tuscany

“Best of Tuscany” is a journey through the world-famous central Italian, combining sun, culture, art, and ancient culinary traditions. This 8-day adventure will be a trip through iconic places and small hidden gems in the core of a country that is incredibly proud of its heritage. You will discover Rome and its imperial history; explore the glorious medieval past of Siena; admire the wine region of central Tuscany; and understand why Florence is the cradle of the Renaissance Era. In contrast to these world-famous sites, you will be introduced to lesser-known places like the beautiful villages of Pitigliano, Montalcino, Pienza, and Volterra, ideal for motorcycle riding.

Andalucia Highlights

“Andalucia Highlights” is the short version of our 15-day deep exploration of this world-famous region in southern Spain for riders looking for a week of spectacular roads and sights under the sun. Besides the stunning combination of sandy beaches, idyllic countryside, spectacular mountain ranges, and historical monuments, Andalucia has a rich past that begs to be explored. The Moors ruled Spain for seven centuries, starting in 711 with the invasion of Tarifa by Muslims of North Africa, and their influence is still profoundly felt today wherever we go.
