It is designed to enhance your experience by providing essential information and guidance throughout your journey. For each day of the trip, there is a predefined route that your guide will follow. However, there may be changes to the planned route if necessary for reasons beyond our control. It is important to note that during the reconnaissance of our trips, we always choose the most exciting roads from scenic and motorcycling perspective. This ensures that you will have an unforgettable and enjoyable experience riding through the stunning landscapes of the Alps.
During our trips, we advise all riders to always have this road book with them, as it contains information that can be very useful for the day-to-day tour.

These shared elements make the Alpine region a unique and cohesive destination, despite the national borders. The blend of cultural influences, breathtaking landscapes, and culinary delights ensures an unforgettable journey through the heart of Europe.
The entire area of our tour has excellent mobile network coverage, ensuring you stay connected throughout the journey.
We recommend that riders from outside Europe purchase an eSIM or a local SIM card that provides internet and mobile network access in these countries. It’s important to note that Switzerland is not part of the European Union, so it may not be included in your chosen plan. Ensure that Switzerland is covered by your SIM card plan to avoid any connectivity issues. You can purchase eSIMs online from providers like Airalo or Holafly, which offer coverage in multiple countries, including Switzerland.
Most European riders will not encounter any issues in Italy, Germany, and Austria, as these countries are within the European Union. However, it is crucial to check with your mobile provider regarding coverage in Switzerland, as it is not included in the EU roaming agreements. You can choose to turn off mobile data while in Switzerland to avoid unexpected charges. Alternatively, you can purchase an eSIM online that offers internet access in Switzerland in advance from providers like Airalo or Holafly.
All hotels on our tour route offer Wi-Fi access, ensuring you can stay connected and share your experiences without interruption. Additionally, it is possible to request access to Wi-Fi in most places where we stop for lunch or coffee, allowing you to stay connected even during breaks.
During the tour, all your luggage will be tagged and transported in the support vehicle. We accept up to 2 suitcases weighing 23kg each per participant. All our motorcycles are equipped with a top-case, allowing you to carry your personal belongings such as:
• Rain Protection
• Spare Gloves
• Camera
• Other Essentials
This setup ensures that your main luggage is handled while you have easy access to necessary items throughout the ride.
Your safety is our top priority. Always wear your helmet, gloves, jacket, and boots while riding to ensure maximum protection.
Before we set off, take some time to familiarize yourself with your motorcycle. Adjust the controls to your riding preferences and ensure you are comfortable with them. This is essential for a smooth and enjoyable ride.
The road rules in the Alps are generally similar to those in your home country. However, if you are used to riding on the left side of the road, please inform your tour guide at the beginning. We recommend following the tour leader until you feel comfortable riding on the right side.
Traffic law enforcement is strict in this region of Europe, particularly in Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. These countries have advanced systems for monitoring speed, including
numerous radars, especially in small towns and villages. It is essential to adhere to the speed limits to avoid fines and ensure safe passage through different jurisdictions. Note that fines can be sent directly to your home address.
Important Points:
• Speed Limits: Always follow the recommended speed limits. There are speed controls and video surveillance throughout the Alps region.
• Fines: Traffic violations can result in fines that will be sent to your home address
• Radars: Be aware of radar traps, especially in Switzerland and Austria. These countries have a high number of radar traps that are strictly enforced. Unlike some regions, there are no signs warning about radar locations, so always adhere to the speed limits to avoid fines. The following images illustrate typical radar setups in these areas.
The Alpine passes are known for their tight curves, particularly the hairpins, or ‘tornantes’. These require precise handling and careful attention. When approaching these curves, closely follow the tour guide’s instructions. Adhering to the prescribed path through each curve will help you maintain control of your motorcycle and prevent accidents. Your guide will provide the best techniques to tackle these challenging sections safely.
We will ride in a staggered formation on wide roads and in a single line on narrow mountain passes. This approach keeps the group safe and well-organized. Riding on a motorcycle tour is different from riding alone or with friends; the group may have varying
paces, but our main goal is to enjoy the journey, not rush.
When riding in a group, it’s crucial to stick together. The tour leader ensures everyone turns correctly when changing routes or exiting highways. Each rider is responsible for the rider behind them. If you don’t see the rider behind you, reduce your speed or stop and wait. This alerts the tour leader that something has happened, allowing them to return and assist. Additionally, a support vehicle will always be behind the group to help if needed.
If you separate from the group and reach an intersection without knowing if the group has turned, continue straight ahead unless someone is waiting for you. When approaching an intersection, slow down and check if the group is waiting within sight. This helps ensure you stay on the correct route and rejoin the group promptly.
While we aim to avoid highways as much as possible, there are times when we must use them. The tour leader will be the first to pass through the toll and then return to assist the group at automatic toll booths.
To ensure a smooth process, always have your credit card or cash easily accessible. As you approach a toll booth, take your time to pay and proceed safely.
We carry a spare motorcycle with our support vehicle to ensure that any mechanical failure does not inconvenience our riders. Often, we are too far from a motorcycle dealer for quick repairs. The spare motorcycle allows us to quickly replace any bike that experiences a mechanical issue, ensuring that the tour continues smoothly and without significant delays for our riders.
Refueling is done whenever the guide indicates and is already included in our plan. The tour leader will typically stop to refuel the motorcycles at the end of each day before we head to the hotel, ensuring all bikes are ready to go in the morning. You don’t need to worry about fuel; the tour leader will consider the fuel needs of all motorcycles in the group, even those with smaller tanks. We will always refuel all the motorcycles, regardless of their current fuel levels.
Before joining the tour, verify that your credit card works without issues in Europe and Switzerland. As most fuel stations in Europe are self-service (typical in Europe), it’s crucial to refuel with the correct fuel type: gasoline. Our tour leaders are available to assist you with this task.
Regular – Regular gasoline’s pump is usually greenish or slightly bluish in color. Be aware: Gasolio means Diesel and its pump is usually black, blue, or yellow.
If you use your credit card or debit card at a self-service fuel station, you may notice a transaction for €100 or a similar amount on your statement. This is a pre-authorization for the maximum amount of fuel the pump can dispense. The gas station will refund you the difference between this pre-authorized value and the refueling amount.
Passport & Driver’s License: Bring the originals along with one backup copy. Additionally, obtaining an international driver’s license is highly recommended.
We will provide travel insurance for the duration of your tour starting in Milan. Additionally, we recommend bringing your own travel insurance from your country that covers motorcycling and includes medical evacuation.
Bring a two-week supply of any regular medication, along with prescriptions for refills. Don’t forget prescription glasses and sunglasses, including a backup pair if possible.
Phone: Consider a local SIM card if your carrier charges high roaming fees.
Camera & Accessories: If you plan to bring a camera, include extra memory cards and chargers.
European Plug Adapters: Ensure you have adapters for Type C plugs (Europlug).
Bluetooth Helmet Headset: If required for communication.
Credit and Debit Cards: Notify your bank of your travel dates and destinations.
Cash: Useful for small expenses.
As you prepare for your exhilarating motorcycle tour through the Alps this May, remember that being well-equipped is crucial due to the varying weather conditions you might encounter. Below, you’ll find a detailed list of essential motorcycle gear to enhance your comfort and safety during the journey:
Full-face Helmet: Opt for a high-quality, comfortable helmet. Your usual helmet from home is the best choice if it fits well.
Jacket and Pants: These should include protection for elbows, shoulders, knees, and hips. Choose items with a water-resistant material like a Gore-Tex outer shell or an inner liner.
Extra Rain Protection: We recommend carrying a waterproof jacket and pants to wear over your motorcycle gear if it isn’t already waterproof. These items should be conveniently stored in your bike’s side or top panniers for easy access.
Motorcycle Boots: Water-resistant boots are ideal. Ensure they are comfortable and either tall or mid-height.
Gloves: Protective and comfortable gloves are essential. Having two pairs is advisable, one suitable for warmer conditions and another for colder, wet days.
Base Layers: Comfortable, breathable long-sleeve shirts and long pants that dry quickly are essential. Avoid cotton and pack 3 or 4 sets.
Mid-Layer: A fleece jacket should be worn under your main jacket on colder days.
Clothing: Pack various shirts, pants, and a comfortable coat or sweatshirt for cooler evenings. Include a swimsuit, socks, and underwear that are easy to wash and quick to dry.
Toiletry Kit: Keep it compact with essentials like a toothbrush, toothpaste, and shaving kit.
Luggage: A medium-sized rigid suitcase or soft duffel bag, ideally transported in the support vehicle.
Water Bottle: A portable thermal water bottle is recommended.
Past 3-Year Temperatures in Celsius Chart (High and Low).
