DPL Suspends Programs Due To COVID

Danville-Center Township Public Library will not be hosting in-person programming until further notice due to the change in Covid designation from orange to red for Hendricks County. We will provide our young patrons with plenty of virtual and passive programs as we can! We are also asking that our patrons wear a mask when coming into the library. Class of 1971 50th Reunion

On Saturday, October 2, the Danville High School graduating class of 1971 will hold their 50th reunion at the Cartlidge Barn on the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds. The festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m., with a professional class photograph to follow at 6:15 p.m., and then dinner catered by Mayberry Café, complimentary beverages, and dancing to The Park Avenue Band from Indianapolis. Drawings for door prizes, a photo booth for casual pictures, and High School Trivia Bingo will be included in the evening’s entertainment. Former classmates from all around the state of Indiana -- as well as from Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Nevada, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee -- are gathering together to mark this occasion. __________

The officers of the three Danville Tri Kappa chapters attended the Province Convention and Officer Training held at Central Catholic Junior-Senior High School in Lafayette. Those attending: Delta Kappa – Tonya Weiss, President; Brittany Titus, Vice President; Tammi Stuard, Recording Secretary; Kris McNulty, Assistant Treasurer; and Bev Stallings, Historian and former Province Officer. Alpha Associate – Theresa Lynch, President; Michele Lynch, Vice President; Cathy Schuster, Secretary; and Mary Monts, Treasurer. Beta Associate – Debby Rodney, Adviser. Reports from the State Committees were given in the morning. Some of the programs that Tri Kappa supports are: Ri-

ley Hospital for Children, Hands in Autism, Ronald McDonald House, Mental Health Association of Indiana, Special Olympics, Prevent Child Abuse Indiana, Camp Riley, Hoosier Salon, gifted & talented programs at various universities, and “We the People.” The Tri Kappa Art collection has been appraised at over a half-million dollars. Fine Arts winners were announced after the luncheon: 2-D Art –1st place, Joan Kisner, Alpha Associate 2-D Art – 2nd place, Sue Gillock, Beta Associate Jewelry – 1st place, Joan Kisner, Alpha Associate Scrapbook winners were Alpha Associate (Michele Lynch) for traditional and Beta Associate (Debby Rodney) for digital. Tri Kappa statewide donates over $1.5 million to charity, culture, and education in Indiana.

Tri Kappa Alpha Chapter Elects Officers

Senior Center Food Pantry

Hendricks County Senior Services offers a food pantry for Hendricks County seniors, including perishable, nonperishable, and hygiene products. The food pantry is open by appointment. Please call 317-745-4303 to make an appointment to come to the food pantry. Hendricks County Senior Services reserves the right to limit the number of visits. Individuals must be 60 years old or older and a resident of Hendricks County, to use the food pantry. Donations are always needed, accepted and appreciated. ___________

The Alpha Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa in Danville met recently to begin the fall season. New officers were installed during the meeting.
