(M o r e O b i t u a r i e s TED ELLIS COYLE, 74, passed away on November 14, 2021, peacefully, at home with his daughters and wife by his side. On August 11, 1947, he was born in Indianapolis to the late Gene B. and Henrietta Coyle. After graduating from Howe High School in 1965, he attended Purdue University, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He graduated in 1970 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. While working in Minneapolis, Minn., Ted met Jackie, and they quickly fell in love, marrying just six months later on June 30, 1973, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. They moved back to Indianapolis and had two daughters, Meghan and Lyndsay. After a very successful sales career in the industrial packaging industry spanning over 50 years, Ted officially retired in June 2021. Nothing brought Ted more joy than spending time with family and friends. His grandsons and daughters were his pride and joy. Ted loved Purdue athletics and was a long-time member of the John Purdue Club. He was an extremely generous man who was actively involved in various Plainfield community organizations. Over the years, his favorite activities were his involvement in youth sports and supporting local families in need. Golfing was a hobby Ted thoroughly enjoyed; however his happy place was fishing on a lake in Minnesota, catching walleyes. Ted’s charismatic personality, sense of humor, and positive outlook on life made him a loving husband, exceptional father and grandfather, and loyal friend to many. Over the past fourteen months, Ted battled Glioblastoma Brain Cancer with courage and strength. He never gave up, and throughout the journey, he was always looking ahead. His positive attitude was inspiring and provided much comfort to his friends and family. Ted’s infectious laugh, wonderful smile, honesty, and generous heart will be missed by those who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Jackie; daughters, Meghan Louisa Coyle and Lyndsay Louise (Adam) Corya; grandsons, Anderson Reickel Corya, Elliott Thomas Coyra, and their soon to be baby brother; brother, Gene A. (Jan) Coyle, and sister-in-law, Connie (Jack) Jannett. On Sunday, November 21, 2021, a visitation will be held at Plainfield United Methodist Church from 2-4 pm, followed by a Memorial service at 4 pm.
