Activities at Danville Friends
Danville Friends Church once again welcomes fairgoers to park on our lot! We are excited to see familiar faces and ready to greet the new! We are across the street from the fairgrounds and are ready to celebrate the 2021 hendricks county 4-h fair!! We have a great Bible Study on the Holy Lands every Wednesday evening at 7 pm. It is by ZOOM meetings so if you would like to join us call 317-850-1677 and you will receive a link to join. Our ladies Friendly Service Circle make noodles and quilt every month however, July is dedicated to the FAIR so we will not meet until August. Call our church 317745-5348 for information. Our New Beginnings Clothing Ministry had a great Friday last week when Gleaners visited the fairgrounds. The folks came across the road to us and left with trash bags of clothing, luggage, toiletries, canned goods and fresh hot mouth-watering hotdogs! We had a day full of blessings and look forward to August 6th and doing it all over again. If you need to visit any other time, please call 317-7455348 and we will see to it! We are also available 24X7 for emergencies at that same number. Mark your calendars for our annual CHICKEN & NOODLE DINNER Saturday, November 6th. This event is so very special to us, and we plan and work and make noodles galore to be able to serve you and to have a supply of noodles for our faithful customers to buy for their holiday tables. Our noodles are fantastic! Please join us Sundays for Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and Worship at 10:30 a.m. Our Pastor, Drew Drage, preaches the Word and can also be found on dfc@danvillefriends.org and Facebook. Senior Services Provides Information & Referral
Hendricks County Senior Services can help seniors and caregivers navigate the resources in our community. Learn about Social Security, all aspects of Medicare and medication assistance programs, community resources, affordable housing and other concerns. SHIP (State Health Assistance Insurance Program) - Whether you are new to Medicare or want to review options for supplemental coverage, our SHIP counselors offer official insurance assistance through Hendricks County Senior Services. Call to set a one-on-one 90 minute appointment. Legal - Legal aid is available by appointment. We offer access to free legal services through a partnership with the Senior Law Project. Pre-retirement, financial and estate planning seminars are also offered. Housing and Home Healthcare Options - Options for assisted living, subsidized and affordable senior housing, long term care, and rehabilitation facilities are available. The senior center is filled with information on healthcare and other businesses who partner with us to provide services to seniors. Staff is available for further questions and information. Tax Preparation - Tax preparation is available in cooperation with AARP. Trained tax preparers are available during tax season to help with basic, non business tax returns. Appointments are scheduled at the end of January and are offered at sites in within Hendricks County and at Hendricks County Senior Services. Call 317-745-4303 for more information.

Hendricks County Nonprofits Showcased During 4-H Fair
The 4-H Fairgrounds are partnering with Hendricks County Community Foundation to offer “Get Involved 2021” a volunteer job fair during two days of the 4-H Fair! “Get Involved” is a great opportunity for local nonprofits to engage community members who are looking for ways to get involved in Hendricks County, and recruit them to become potential Board members, volunteers or general members. “Get Involved” will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, July 20-21, from 1 – 9 p.m. in the Hendricks Power Exposition Hall at the 4-H Fairgrounds & Conference Center. The 4-H Fair dates are Sunday, July 18th, through Saturday July 24th, 2021. In addition, HCCF will be awarding two $500 grants one each day - to a participating nonprofit!
