A brief pause before the evening’s fun begins. And that’s why we recommend a sunset walk on the new trail that connects the Piazzetta of Porto Cervo with the boardwalk and then Porto Vecchio and the Promenade Wear comfortable shoes or sandals, go to the far end of the Piazzetta, near restaurant Nuna al Sole, and take the path among the vegetation, without taking the stairs. The refurbishment has just been completed, and is totally new for this season, in line with the aspirations of attractiveness and sustainability. the shade of a small forest of tamarisks and olives, enclosed by low walls that invite you to stop and rest along the way. From here you can hear the sea; it’s the perfect place to come with young children in their strollers, where they’ll be lulled by the rumble of the cobblestones and the murmur of the waves. Along the route you’ll find magnificent views that were previously inaccessible, such as the wooden bridge that connects with the other shore, where time seems to have crystallised. Then on to Porto Vecchio, Porto Cervo’s original harbour prior to the advent of the new marina in the 1980s. Also known as Molo 16, Porto Vecchio preserves its former charm intact: when large boats arrived here, the young Aga Khan would come to welcome his dearest friends, mingling with the dockers and sailors. Now it’s almost aperitif time: a spot of shopping followed by a cocktail and a wonderful dinner in one of Porto Cervo’s restaurants.

Lungo il percorso si aprono splendidi scenari prima difficilmente godibili: la vista sul ponte di legno che collega all’altra sponda, dove il tempo sembra essersi cristallizzato. E poi il Porto Vecchio, porto storico di Porto Cervo prima dell’avvento della Marina nuova negli anni ’80. Conosciuto anche come Molo 16, il Porto Vecchio conserva intatto il fascino del passato: arrivano le barche più grandi, qui un giovanissimo Aga Khan accoglieva gli amici più cari confondendosi con gli ormeggiatori. Ormai è quasi l’ora dell’aperitivo: un giro di shopping, un cocktail e una splendida cena nei ristoranti di Porto Cervo.

A beautiful soul
She has never needed superstructures to leave her mark. Profound eyes, a calm voice, and resolute energy. Today as she is ready to start a new chapter in her life, the actress talks about herself with the urgency of those who still have a lot to tell – and give. What is the first place you go to every time you return here?
This is my land. To me it feels like finding a piece of myself again. I have deep roots here. I have a house which is surrounded by the colours of this land which evokes memories. It gives me peace and a sense of belonging.
Sardinia: luxury or nature?
You can find both. I was here during the golden age of nightlife in Porto Cervo between discotheques and jet-setting events, but today I prefer living a different life. All it takes is to drive a little further away by car and you will find yourself in a corner of paradise, empty beaches even in the middle of August. Sardinia has never abandoned its wild nature.
Your career ranges from Bond girl to host at the Venice Film
Festival. What have you learnt from this experience?
My career has not been linear at all. I encountered many obstacles, I questioned myself. It was not all red carpets and grandeur. But this job can always surprise you: sometimes you get a phone call and the whole process starts again. I was lucky to have the opportunity to choose varied and challenging roles. This is what keeps me alive. And so, today I am offered parts in films that are quite different from one another and each time it seems just like the first. What about your iconic role in Casino Royale?
It was a tremendous opportunity, but perhaps I only understood its significance later. I was the first Bond girl in the Daniel Craig era, in a film which marked a change of mood in the saga. . Today, I look back at it with gratitude and realisation: not so much for the glamour surrounding it, but for the chance it gave me to build an international career.

Il mio viaggio non è stato affatto lineare. Ho inciampato tante volte, ho vissuto il dubbio. Non è stato soltanto red carpet e lustrini. Ma è un mestiere che ti sorprende sempre: a volte basta una telefonata e riparte tutto. Ho avuto la fortuna di scegliere ruoli molto diversi, sfidanti. Ed è proprio questo che mi tiene viva. Oggi per esempio mi capita di ricevere copioni talmente diversi tra di loro che ogni volta sembra la prima. E quel ruolo iconico in Casino Royale?
È stato un regalo immenso, che forse ho capito solo dopo. Sono stata la prima Bond Girl dell’era Daniel Craig, in un film che ha segnato un cambio di passo nella saga. A 20 anni di distanza, quelle immagini vivono ancora, fanno parte della storia del cinema. Oggi le guardo con gratitudine e consapevolezza: non tanto per il glamour, ma per la possibilità che mi hanno dato di costruire una carriera internazionale.

That was my pet project. From 24 to 30 July 2024, I travelled across Sardinia along with my husband Édouard and photographers Alessandra Cossu and Fabrizio Pinna, recording more than 4800 animals. The material collected was then turned into a travelling photographic exhibition. We wanted to give a voice to the forgotten, abandoned and mistreated animals; unfortunately, Sardinia has a history in this regard. Ringhio, a dog left in a kennel for 15 years was a primary example: he died in December despite all our efforts to find him a family. His story will also be told through a documentary because would like the institutions to start collaborating with the associations, to change their mentality. Do you have a dream you would like to achieve in the next years? I feel I am living a magical moment. Soon I will become a mother and I believe we all have a huge responsibility today: raise conscious human beings
occhi, una mostra sugli animali che ha commosso il pubblico. È un progetto che porto nel cuore. Dal 24 al 30 luglio 2024 ho attraversato la Sardegna insieme a mio marito Édouard e ai fotografi Alessandra Cossu e Fabrizio Pinna 38 strutture, censendo oltre 4.800 animali. È nata così una mostra fotografica itinerante. Abbiamo voluto dare voce agli invisibili, agli animali abbandonati e maltrattati, la Sardegna, purtroppo, ha tristi record in questo senso. Ringhio, un cane rimasto 15 anni in canile, è uno dei simboli: è mancato a dicembre, nonostante tutti i nostri sforzi per trovargli una famiglia. A questa esperienza seguirà anche un documentario. Voglio che le istituzioni inizino a collaborare con le associazioni, che si cambi mentalità. Un nuovo sogno che le piacerebbe realizzare? Sento di essere in un momento magico, sarò presto madre e credo che oggi abbiamo una grande responsabilità: crescere esseri umani consapevoli.

The Mistral in Sardinia is more than just a wind. It is the breath of the Island, its invisible soul. A demiurge that shapes not only the landscape whose vegetation has become low and compact to resist its lashes but also the inhabitants, accustomed to facing its challenges with stoic determination. It is certainly not a wind that goes unnoticed, “It lasts three days and seems to never end”, to use the words of Sardinian poet Paolo Marogna. When it decides to visit Sardinia, arriving from the northwest, the sky becomes an even more intense blue, it sweeps away the sultry heat, lowers the temperatures, but agitates the sea and also the peace and quiet of the beaches. This is why we are taking you to the most beautiful, sheltered beaches and coves of the north-eastern coast, perfect for a day when the Mistral blows, to be enjoyed both by boat and by land.
Il Maestrale in Sardegna è più di un semplice vento. È il respiro dell’Isola, la sua anima invisibile. Un demiurgo che plasma non solo il paesaggio la cui vegetazione si è fatta bassa e compatta per resistere alle sue sferzate ma anche gli abitanti, abituati a fronteggiare le sue sfide con stoica determinazione. Non è certo un vento che passa inosservato, “Dura tre giorni e sembra non finire più”, per usare le parole del poeta sardo Paolo Marogna. Quando decide di far visita alla Sardegna, arrivando da nord-ovest, il cielo si fa di un azzurro ancora più intenso, spazza via l’afa, abbassa le temperature, ma agita il mare e anche la tipica quiete della spiaggia. Ecco perché vi accompagniamo nelle spiagge e cale più belle e riparate della costa nord-orientale, perfette per una giornata di Maestrale, da godersi sia in barca che via terra.

ROMAZZINO BEACH
Nestled between Punta Capaccia and Punta Romazzino, it is the northernmost beach on our itinerary, which – like the hotel of the same name, whose guests enjoy exclusive access to a portion of its approximately 300 meters of coastline – takes its name from rosemary (romazzinu in Gallura dialect), the aromatic plant typical of the Mediterranean scrub that surrounds it. The sand has a coarser grain than most Sardinian beaches and the shallow waters makes it perfect for families with children.
SPIAGGIA DEL PRINCIPE (PRINCE’S BEACH)
Smaller and more tucked away, the beach directly facing Mortorio island and named for the famous Karim Aga Khan IV still known by some as the Poltu Di Li Cogghj beach is made unique by two stretches of fine white sand divided by pink granite rocks that stretch out into the sea. A pool of crystal-clear water.
LISCIA RUJA
Over 500 metres in length, it is the largest beach in the area, not surprisingly also known as Long Beach, surrounded by the scent of cistus, strawberry trees and juniper bushes. Its name (‘red stripe’ in Sardinian) is due to its beautiful sand, with an evocative light reddish colour that is tinged with golden highlights in the sun. While maintaining a wild appearance, Liscia Ruja is a beach loved by young people and very popular, perhaps because of the famous Ferragosto festival that is held here every year.
CALA PETRA RUJA
A little further south, we find the crescent-shaped cove Cala Petra Ruja, definitely quieter than Liscia Ruja and well protected by two long strips of land (the red rocks which give it its name). A true paradise for those who love snorkelling.

e Punta Romazzino, è la spiaggia più a nord del nostro itinerario, che come l’omonimo hotel, ai cui ospiti è dedicata una parte dei suoi circa 300 metri di litorale prende il nome dal rosmarino (romazzinu in dialetto gallurese), ovvero la pianta aromatica caratteristica della macchia mediterranea che la circonda. La sabbia ha una grana più corposa rispetto alla maggior parte delle spiagge sarde e il fondale basso la rende perfetta anche per le famiglie.
SPIAGGIA DEL PRINCIPE
Più piccola e raccolta, la spiaggia proprio di fronte all’isola di Mortorio, dedicata al celebre Karim Aga Khan IV da alcuni ancora conosciuta come la spiaggia Poltu Di Li Cogghj è resa unica da due tratti arenili di sabbia bianca finissima, separati da un promontorio di rocce granitiche di colore rosa. Una piscina d’acqua cristallina.
LISCIA RUJA
Con i suoi oltre 500 metri di litorale, è la spiaggia più grande della zona, non a caso conosciuta anche come Long Beach, circondata dal profumo di cisti, corbezzoli e cespugli di ginepri. Il suo nome (in sardo: ‘striscia rossa’) si deve alla sua bellissima sabbia, dal suggestivo colore rossastro chiaro che con il sole si tinge di sfumature e riflessi dorati. Pur mantenendo un aspetto selvaggio, Liscia Ruja è una spiaggia amata dai giovani e molto popolare, forse per la famosa festa di Ferragosto che si tiene qui ogni anno.
CALA PETRA RUJA
Poco più a sud, troviamo l’insenatura a arco di Cala Petra Ruja, sicuramente più tranquilla di Liscia Ruja e ben protetta da due lunghe lingue di terra (le rocce rosse da cui prende il nome). Un vero paradiso per gli amanti dello snorkeling.

La Blue Forest of Cala di Volpe
THE MARINE REFORESTATION OF POSEIDONIA OCEANICA COMES TO THE THE FAMOUS BAY LA RIFORESTAZIONE MARINA DELLA POSEIDONIA OCEANICA ARRIVA NELLA CELEBRE BAIA
The bay of Cala di Volpe is an extraordinarily fascinating underwater garden, and increasingly protected thanks to an initiative by the One Ocean Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works at the global level to protect and preserve the marine environment. This spring it embarked on the expansion of its Blue Forest project in Sardinia, in the famous bay itself. This is the largest marine reforestation project in the Mediterranean, and focuses on protecting and restoring Posidonia oceanica, a species that is endemic to our sea and crucial for the health of the marine ecosystem.
In the words of Jan Pachner, general secretary of the One Ocean Foundation, “The expansion of the Blue Forest project in Sardinia is an important step in protecting marine ecosystems and recognising the value of this natural blue asset”. The intervention in question concerns some 80 hectares of sea in the Cala di Volpe mooring zone, where the underwater meadow of Posidonia oceanica was damaged before access and mooring procedures were regulated. The first important step in their protection was actually carried out twenty years ago by Smeralda Holding, with the creation of a field of buoys to control access and safeguard the marine ecosystem by limiting human pressure on the meadow. The system, which is still in force, prohibits free mooring and allows only authorised access: essential conditions for the ecological reforestation. The project consists of three phases: the first involved the preliminary mapping of approximately 80 hectares of seabed. This is followed by a reforestation phase, whose initial planting of some 500 square metres has already been completed, with the installation of coconut fibre biomatting and metal mesh, which can host approximately 20 shoots of sea grass per square metre. The scions, harvested solely from the settling basins in the bay, will be combined with the experimental planting of shoots from seagrass fruits washed up on the beach from exceptional winter flowering events. Once the reforestation is complete, there will be a further three-year
period of scientific monitoring by a team from the University of Sassari. The initiative is the result of scientific collaboration between the One Ocean Foundation and the University of Sassari, with the backing of Smeralda Holding: “Smeralda Holding has invested for many years in the protection and sustainability of the marine ecosystem, with concrete actions such as the installation of the buoy field in Cala di Volpe”, says Mario Ferraro, CEO of Smeralda Holding. His words are echoed by the mayor of Arzachena, Roberto Ragnedda: “Protection using Posidonia oceanica is a concrete action to preserve the identity of the area, given its role in protecting against coastal erosion”.
La Baia del Cala di Volpe è un giardino sommerso di incredibile fascino, sempre più tutelato grazie all’intervento di One Ocean Foundation, realtà non profit operante a livello internazionale per la tutela dell’ambiente marino. Ha preso avvio a primavera l’ampliamento del progetto Blue Forest in Sardegna, proprio nella celebre baia. Si tratta della più estesa iniziativa di riforestazione marina nel Mar Mediterraneo, orientata alla tutela e al ripristino di Posidonia oceanica, pianta endemica dei nostri mari e fondamentale per la salute dell’ecosistema marino. Come spiega Jan Pachner, segretario generale di One Ocean Foundation: “L’ampliamento del
progetto Blue Forest in Sardegna rappresenta un passo importante nel nostro percorso per la tutela degli ecosistemi marini e il riconoscimento del valore del capitale naturale blu”. L’intervento in questione interessa circa 80 ettari di mare all’interno del campo boe di Cala di Volpe, dove si trova una prateria di Posidonia oceanica danneggiata prima che fossero regolamentati accessi e ancoraggi. Il primo passo fondamentale verso la sua tutela fu infatti compiuto già vent’anni fa da Smeralda Holding, con la creazione del campo boe per regolamentare gli accessi e tutelare l’ecosistema marino, limitando la pressione antropica sulla prateria. Il sistema, tuttora vigente, vieta l’ancoraggio libero e consente l’accesso controllato, condizioni essenziali per l’intervento di restauro ecologico. II progetto si compone di tre fasi: la prima fase ha previsto la mappatura pre-intervento di circa 80 ettari di fondale. È seguita una fase di riforestazione di cui a oggi sono già state concluse le prime operazioni di trapianto su una superficie di circa 500 mq, mediante l’installazione sul fondale di biostuoie in fibra di cocco e rete metallica, che ospitano circa 20 talee per metro quadrato. Le talee, raccolte esclusivamente tra quelle eradicate naturalmente nelle zone di decantazione della baia, saranno affiancate dalla sperimentazione con germogli provenienti da frutti spiaggiati, raccolti in seguito alle eccezionali fioriture invernali. A conclusione della riforestazione, è prevista una fase triennale di monitoraggio scientifico del team dell’Università di Sassari. Un’iniziativa che nasce dalla collaborazione scientifica tra One Ocean Foundation e l’Università di Sassari e il sostegno di Smeralda Holding: “Da molti anni Smeralda Holding investe nella sostenibilità e nella tutela dell’ecosistema marino con azioni concrete, come l’installazione del campo boe a Cala di Volpe – ha commentato Mario Ferraro, CEO di Smeralda Holding Gli fa eco il sindaco di Arzachena Roberto Ragnedda: “La tutela della Posidonia oceanica è un’azione concreta per preservare l’identità del territorio visto il suo ruolo di tutela dall’erosione costiera.”

It is here, in the turquoise waters of Porto Cervo, that the world’s most ardent boat owners and yachtsmen have met for over fifty years. From the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS), founded in the early 1970s by His Highness the Aga Khan — recently deceased — a vision was born that transformed this corner of Sardinia into a mecca for international sailing. And in 2025, that vision shines again with an even fuller sporting calendar, which combines tradition, innovation and a growing commitment to sustainability, a central theme also this year. All the main regattas on the 2025 calendar are certified by the Sailors for the Sea international Clean Regattas program. On June 8, World Ocean Day, the YCCS
Clean Beach Day is an event open to all and organized in collaboration with the One Ocean Foundation, confirming Porto Cervo not only as the capital of great sailing, but also as an amalgam of beauty, sporting excellence and environmental commitment. The regatta season kicked off in May, a strategic early start that also aimed to strengthen the economic impact on the territory. The calendar began with the RC44 Porto Cervo Cup for one-design Russell Coutts boats, which saw twelve top-level teams provide spectacle and technique. This was followed by the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta for yachts over 80 feet and multihulls of at least 50. The event included the Southern Wind Rendezvous, now in its 19th edition, among the most eagerly-awaited moments in the yacht design world. From 17 to 21 June, the spotlight will be on The

È qui, tra le acque turchesi di Porto Cervo, che da oltre cinquant’anni si danno appuntamento gli armatori e i velisti più appassionati del mondo. Dallo Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS), fondato nei primi anni ’70 da Sua Altezza l’Aga Khan — recentemente scomparso — è nata una visione che ha trasformato questo angolo di Sardegna in un tempio della vela internazionale. July and August are mainly dedicated to members’ private activities, but great yachting returns to the forefront in September with the queen of regattas: the thirty-fifth edition of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, which in 2025 - from 7 to 13 September - celebrates 40 years of partnership with Rolex, a brand that symbolizes excellence. Organized with the International Maxi Association, this competition is considered the world championship of maxi yachts (over 18.30 meters) and this year will see the official assignment of World Sailing titles for the Maxi 1 and Maxi Grand Prix classes. A concentration of technology, design and talent, with Olympic sailing and America’s Cup legends on the quay.

Organizzata con l’International Maxi Association, questa competizione è considerata il campionato mondiale dei maxi yacht (oltre i 18,30 metri) e quest’anno vedrà l’assegnazione ufficiale dei titoli World Sailing per le classi Maxi 1 e Maxi Grand Prix. Un concentrato di tecnologia, design e talento, con in banchina leggende della vela olimpica e di Coppa America. Gran finale con la 52 Super Series Sailing Week, dal 22 al 27 settembre, ultima tappa del circuito TP52, tra le massime espressioni della vela a chiglia. Un ritorno carico di significato anche per l’Italia, che fu protagonista dal 2010 al 2020 con Azzurra, la barca simbolo dello YCCS.
Fuori dai confini della Sardegna, ma nel cuore dello yachting italiano, il 2025 segna anche il ritorno dell’Admiral’s Cup, dopo 22 anni di assenza. Dal 19 luglio, nelle acque della Manica, un team targato YCCS partecipa alla storica competizione con due barche - Django WR51 e Django JPK - guidate dal velista Vasco Vascotto, per celebrare il centenario del Royal Ocean Racing Club.

Porto Cervo is ready to shine with a calendar of events guaranteeing fun and excitement. The Costa Smeralda Consortium has presented a programme of events which will enliven the most iconic locations in the area: from the beach of Capriccioli to the Piazzetta Centrale, and the Porto Cervo Marina. A lot of music, children’s shows and evenings celebrating Sardinian culture. The programme starts on 16 July with a performance by the music band Collage, but there will also be many other singers: Irene Grandi (21 July) in Piazzetta; Ermal Meta (31 July), also in Piazzetta; Francesco Gabbani (8 August) in Abbiadori; Michele Zarrillo (20 August) in Piazzetta; and the Neri Per Caso (25 August). of Capriccioli on 26 July and the Moonlight Concert on 10 August Another unmissable event is the Grand Gala of Sardinia on 17 August: a celebration of the island’s history with folklore, traditional dances and tastings. There will also be events to keep the little ones happy such as the Circus on the beach of Porto Cervo on 19 July, the puppet show on 11 August in Porto Cervo Marina, and the Circo Maccus Theatre on 22 August with circus performances for the whole family. From 5 to 7 September for wellness and research enthusiasts, there will be the Longevity Fest, which will host a talk with researchers from Harvard and UCLA universities. The season will close with the Classical Music Festival: four evenings – on 4, 8, 10 and 12 September – at the Conference Centre in Porto Cervo.

Musica, spettacoli per bambini e serate che celebrano l’identità sarda: ogni esperienza è pensata per conquistare un pubblico variegato. Per gli amanti del benessere e della ricerca, dal 5 al 7 settembre torna Longevity Fest, che ospiterà un talk con i ricercatori delle università di Harvard e UCLA . THE STORY OF THE PEVERO GOLF CLUB IS FILLED WITH CHAMPIONS AND PASSION

Today in 2025, the Pevero Golf Club is an renowned golf resort, important in the international circuit and high quality sports events. Evidenced by the presence for the last two years of the Francesco Molinari Golf Academy where the Italian champion provides lessons to the club’s guests. All this is the result of more than 50 years of history which began in the years of the development of the north-eastern coast of Sardinia. It was the early years of the 1970s and golf was experiencing one of its golden periods. For this purpose, they invited one of the most renowned architects to the island: Robert Trent Jones an American of English origin who was a discreet amateur golfer, but an excellent designer of 18-hole courses and also single-hole courses such as the ones designed for President Eisenhower at the White House and Camp David. His production was so large - he is supposed to have designed more than 500 golf courses around the world - that he could boast that “the sun never sets on a Robert
Nel 2025 il Pevero Golf Club è un’eccellenza fatta di fama nel circuito internazionale e sport di grande qualità, come testimonia la presenza da due anni della Francesco Molinari Golf Academy, con la quale il campione italiano fornisce lezioni agli ospiti del club. Ma alle spalle del presente ci sono oltre 50 anni di storia, iniziata negli anni dello sviluppo della costa nord est della Sardegna. Erano gli albori degli anni ’70 e il golf viveva uno dei suoi momenti d’oro. Per questo fu chiamato sull’isola uno dei più noti progettisti, Robert Trent Jones, americano di origini inglesi, discreto golfista dilettante ma superbo costruttore di campi a 18 buche e anche ideatore di singole buche, come quelle per il presidente Eisenhower alla Casa Bianca e a Camp David. Una produzione così grande (gli sono attribuiti più di 500 campi da golf in tutto il mondo) che si poté permettere di dire “Il sole non tramonta mai su un campo da Golf di Robert Trent Jones”.

THE EVENTS OF THE SUMMER AT PEVERO GOLF CLUB
On the golf courses of Pevero where Francesco Molinari gives golf lessons through his Academy, there is also room for competitive events.
Many individual competitions have been scheduled for this summer, at least one per week from June to September with many cups sponsored by fashion and luxury brands. Almost all events will be singles, category-3 Stableford competitions.
In July, there will be a golf competition every Sunday (as well as the Dolce & Gabbana Cup on Thursday the 31st), while in August the difficulty level goes up with the President’s Cup (Sunday 3 August, category 3+2) and the Boggi Milano Golf Cup (Thursday 7 August, Category 2). Cups also on the weekends of September: the first even will be the Matsuhisa Cala di Volpe Golf Cup on 7 September.

Tante, in estate, le gare singole in programma, praticamente una a settimana da giugno a settembre, con tante coppe abbinate a brand della moda e del lusso. Trent Jones golf course”. And one day on the island’s most exclusive coast, he stood before a map of the 60 hectares of Pevero and started to “paint” his creation which would be inaugurated in 1972. The result was a 6-kilometre course with the addition of the surrounding areas. Due to its technical characteristics, Pevero is both a difficult and unusual golf course: the spaces around the green are limited and a lot of precision is needed in hitting the ball, also because the mistral is always ready to disrupt the players’ plans and trajectories. In 1978, Pevero was also the golf course chosen for the Italian Open, won by Dale Hayes from South Africa. There are several interesting facts about this course: it is played between two seas, from north to south from the Gulf of Pevero to the bay of Cala di Volpe; from hole 4, you can see in the distance the islands of Corsica and Caprera at the same time; and the fact that hole 16 is dedicated to Agent 007: a film in the series, The Spy Who Loved Me, was shot in the area around Pevero.
E sulla costa più esclusiva dell’Isola si mise davanti ad una mappa che raffigurava i 60 ettari del Pevero ed iniziò a “dipingere” la sua opera, fino all’inaugurazione le 1972. Nacque un percorso di 6 chilometri al quale furono abbinati il contesto circostante.
Per caratteristiche tecniche il Pevero è un campo tanto difficile quanto affascinante: il green ha intorno spazi limitati e la precisione nel colpire la pallina è determinante, anche perché c’è sempre il Maestrale a scombinare piani e traiettorie. Il percorso nel 1978 è stato anche sede degli Open d’Italia, vinti dal sudafricano Dale Hayes. Tra le curiosità c’è il fatto che si gioca tra due mari, da nord a sud, dal golfo del Pevero alla baia del Cala di Volpe, che dalla buca 4 si vedono contemporaneamente in lontananza la Corsica e Caprera, e che la buca 16 è dedicata a 007: un film della serie, La spia che mi amava, è stato girato nei dintorni del Pevero.

From 17 to 20 July, Porto Cervo will host the 5th edition of the Italia Polo Challenge
The polo circuit is organised in collaboration with FISE (Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports) and with the support of the Sardinia Region and the Municipality of Arzachena, as well as an exceptional partner: Smeralda Holding. The competition is a key event in the programme of summer events on the island and will be held at the Andrea Corda sports field in Abbiadori, a stone’s throw away from Porto Cervo. It will be inaugurated on Thursday 17 July with two parades in the piazzetta of Porto Cervo and in the municipality of Arzachena.
Dal 17 al 20 luglio, Porto Cervo ospita l’Italia Polo Challenge, edizione numero 5. THE RECIPE FOR ONE OF SARDINIA’S BEST-LOVED DISHES
LA RICETTA DI UNO DEI PIATTI PIÙ AMATI DELLA TRADIZIONE SARDA
In Gallura, they call it ‘succu’. Also in nearby Logudoro, the area where in the past they grew the wheat used to produce semolina flour, the main ingredient of this pasta. In other parts of the island, it can either be called ‘fregua’ or ‘fregula’. No matter where you are, as soon as you hear the word ‘fregula’, it is enough to immediately think about Sardinia and about this unusual and very small pasta shape, which is one of the most famous and appreciated traditional Sardinian dishes. This ‘crumb’ is produced by the skilful hands of Sardinian women who mix flour and water inside the ‘canistreddu’ –the typical Sardinian basket – creating thousands of unusually shaped little balls of pasta. The magic of the fregula starts right from its creation. It then continues in the kitchen where it is served with authentic, traditional ingredients such as homemade tomato sauce with fresh basil and a sprinkling of grated pecorino cheese or cooked in fish and seafood broth. Fregula with seafood is one of the dishes which is always present on the menus of restaurants and fish stalls of Gallura, especially during the summer when this dish is further enriched by the abundance and variety of local fish. It can be cooked traditionally like normal pasta in water and salt and then seasoned with a reduced fish sauce or similar to a risotto, directly in the broth, and the sauce made with clams, mussels, squid, cuttlefish, prawns, and scampi. The result is a rich and creamy dish with unique flavours and aromas, which evokes the sea of Sardinia and the countryside with its cultivated fields of Senatore Cappelli wheat.
In Gallura e nel confinante territorio del Logudoro, da dove un tempo arrivava proprio il grano con il quale veniva prodotta la farina di semola di grano duro alla base della sua composizione, viene chiamata ‘succu’. Nel resto dell’isola, a seconda di dove ci si trova prende il nome di ‘fregua’ o ‘fregula’. Per tutti però, basta pronunciare la parola ‘fregola’ per richiamare subito alla mente la Sardegna e questa pasta dall’aspetto irregolare e molto piccolo che rappresenta uno dei primi piatti più conosciuti e apprezzati della tradizione sarda. Si tratta di una ‘briciola’ frutto della maestria delle sapienti mani delle donne sarde che mescolando farina e acqua all’interno di un canestro, ‘canistreddu’ in sardo, creano migliaia di palline di pasta dalla forma irregolare. La magia della fregola inizia proprio con la sua realizzazione, ma prosegue poi in cucina quando viene cotta con ingredienti genuini e dal sapore antico come la passata

di pomodoro fatta in casa a cui viene aggiunto il basilico fresco e una spolverata di formaggio pecorino grattugiato , oppure cotta nel brado di pesce e molluschi. La fregola ai frutti di mare è una delle pietanze che nelle tavole galluresi e nei menù di tutti i ristoranti e ittiturismi non può mancare, soprattutto durante il periodo estivo, quando l’abbondanza e la varietà di pescato locale arricchiscono questo piatto. Può essere cucinata in maniera classica, come una normale pasta, quindi cotta in acqua e sale e successivamente condita con il sughetto ristretto di pesce, oppure può essere fatta “risottata”, ossia cucinata direttamente insieme con il brodo e il sugo realizzato con vongole, cozze, calamari, seppie, gamberoni, totani e scampi che vien fuori è un piatto ricco e cremoso, unico nei sapori e nei profumi, che racchiude al suo interno il mare della Sardegna e le sue campagne coltivate a grano Senatore Cappelli.
