BAND
GPB is ushering in the holiday season with several exciting new music specials sure to add to the festivities. Christmas with the Annie Moses Band features an all-sibling ensemble ranging from ages 26 – 11, whose musical blend of pop, jazz and classical stylings bring a new twist to traditional favorites like “God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman,” to holiday standards, such as “Go Tell It On the Mountain” and “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” Lead singer Annie Wolaver (pictured) talks with GPB's Susan Hoffman and joins the family in a special performance in our studios. Also, be sure to check this month’s listings for other great programs including John Fogerty: Live By Request and Ed Sullivan’s Rock and Roll Classics – The Sixties.

GPB EXAMINES THE LEGACY OF THE
LEO FRANK CASE GPB captures one of the most fascinating criminal cases and darkest chapters in both Georgia and American history with a special night of programming focusing on the 1913 murder of 13-year-old Mary Phagan, a child laborer in an Atlanta pencil factory, and the trial and lynching of Leo Frank, the Jewish factory supervisor accused of her murder. Shot in Atlanta, the new national documentary The People V. Leo Frank features a cast led by Will Janowitz (pictured) (“The Sopranos”) and Seth Gilliam (“The Wire”). Immediately following the 9 PM broadcast of the documentary, GPB will air The People v. Leo Frank: A Georgia Roundtable at 10:30 PM. The program presents a Georgia Historical Society discussion that

EXPERIENCE IS
CHANGING Dear Friends, November is a great time to enjoy family gatherings, special recipes and traditions celebrating the holidays and changing season. And GPB is changing too, as we look forward to commemorating our 50th anniversary next year and forging ahead with new ideas that strengthen our role as a true community resource for our members. I’m sure, GPB could not continue to deliver the relevant and engaging programs that we provide without your dedication to public broadcasting. We are excited about our future programming opportunities and mindful that we use our resources to serve you in the best possible way. For that reason, we are changing the way we communicate with you. In January, the format of experience will change. We will be emailing you a colorful, informative monthly newsletter that will give you an inside look at what’s coming to GPB, so be sure we have your current email address. The television and radio schedule will be easily accessible and downloadable in January. We’ve got lots of news to share, and want to recognize member support by giving you the first look at new programs, first invites to GPB events and special notices about community initiatives across the state. In the coming months, you can
look forward to more original children’s programming, an expanding news presence on television, radio and the web, new episodes of GPB favorites like Georgia Traveler, and the production of three Georgia-based GPB Originals, including a documentary focusing on the life and civic work of Margaret Mitchell. As always, we look forward to hearing from you and encourage you to call Member & Audience Services at 1.800.222.4788 or email ask@gpb.org if you have questions or ideas about GPB programming. Thank you,
Teya Ryan GPB President and Executive Director
examines the role played by Georgia Governor John Slaton and others involved in the case, as well as the ongoing legacy of the Frank lynching and the continuing controversy surrounding Frank's guilt and 1986 pardon. Featured guests include former Georgia governor Roy Barnes, Emory University professor Matthew Bernstein, author of “Screening a Lynching: The Leo Frank Case on Film and Television” and Steve Oney, author of “And the Dead Shall Rise: The Murder of Mary Phagan and the Lynching of Leo Frank.”

TALK TURKEY WITH GPB RADIO ON THANKSGIVING DAY
GPB Radio will celebrate Thanksgiving day with three special programs. First, at 11 AM, The Splendid Table’s Turkey Confidential will help Thanksgiving cooks, kitchen helpers and dinner guests on the biggest cooking day of the year. Lynne Rossetto Kasper (Pictured) will be available to answer listener questions and talks with special guests including “Cook’s Illustrated’s” Christopher Kimball. Call in with your questions at 800-5375252. That’s followed at 1 PM with Harvest Home: Thanksgiving with the Dale Warland Singers. As America’s premier a cappella choir for more than 30 years, the Dale Warland Singers have crafted a beautiful hour of newly-arranged favorites, quiet and simple Shaker tunes and rousing folk songs. Rounding out the special programming, the twohour special Giving Thanks: A Celebration of Fall, Food and Gratitude with John Birge is a musicand-stories celebration of Thanksgiving. Tune in at 7 PM.

Monkey Christmas A Very
PREMIERES SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 28 AT 10 AM ENCORES SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 29 AT 10 AM.
Curious George and The Man with the Yellow Hat are having a wonderful time getting ready for Christmas. There’s only one dilemma—neither of them can figure out what to give the other for a present! The Man finds George’s wish list filled with geometric shapes and other indecipherable images. And George doesn’t have a clue what to get The Man who has everything. What ensues is a twelve-day merry montage of Man and Monkey Mayhem involving all your favorite Curious George characters—including Hundley, the Pisghettis, Gnocchi, Bill, Betsy and Steve. Through it all George tries repeatedly to create a homemade gift for The Man, and The Man enlists everybody and everything trying to decipher George’s cryptic Christmas list. In the end, both gift-giving predicaments are simply and beautifully resolved evealing the true spirit of the holiday season. We won’t spoil it for you by telling how, just suffice to say, it all works out for the best, and everybody has A Very Monkey Christmas!
