Welcome to the 4th Ladies of Windy Knoll Online Female Sale! We would like to start off by saying that we are truly humbled and thankful that we have the opportunity to be apart of an industry that we love amongst breeders that inspire and support us. A massive thank you to all of the breeders from across the country that showed interest, bid, or bought females in our third annual sale. We’ve had great feedback and hope that they continue to thrive in their new homes. Chasing this dream wouldn’t be possible without your support!
We continue to be very grateful for technology as we are in an area that doesn’t have huge numbers of cattle or cattlemen and one that’s not as easy to just pop in for a tour. DLMS and social media allows us to be able to reach a bigger audience and offer these elite genetics that we’ve been building on to fellow breeders. We strive to be transparent and represent them to you as close as what they would be if you were to come for a tour.
Cow families are something that we have always focused on but have really been building on them the last 9 years, adding new and continually improving old. Added cow families include: RF Flirt 824F, SVS Sadie 818F, RF Flirt 034H, LRX Cheyenne 14U, Blacksand Linette 854U and RF Ms Deva 92L, LFE BS Shelby 2185K, SVS Joys Elegance 52L, KSL Golden Girl 22L and NUG Roxy 255M.
When I was younger, every Saturday morning Gramp would pull up to the barn for his weekly cattle economic debriefing, not long before he passed away one of those conversations was about quality over quantity, it has stuck with me ever since. We don’t have a huge offering, but it sure is strong one! That’s where the quality over quantity comes into play. The quality amongst these females runs
deep. We’ve selected females from the heart of our herd that we are confident that will go out and work for you and make tremendous cows and would happily keep any of them ourselves. The headliners of the sale this year are two ET sisters that are out our favourite red donor, WKF Flirt 24J. We’d love to keep them both but have 5 flushmates in the keeper pen and decided to offer up the best of the flush. Their maternal brother has been out on the show road this fall and was named Supreme Bull at the Heritage Beef Classic Show in Windsor, NS, the Simmental National Grand Champion Bull and then went on to be the Reserve Supreme Champion at Expo Boeuf in Victoriaville,Quebec and most recently was the Grand Champion Simmental Bull at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. The possibilities of where these two females can take your program are endless. We truly believe that all of the females on offer will make unique breeding pieces and each have something different to bring to the table.
We would like to welcome you to view our female offering and the bulls that we’ll have for sale this winter at the farm. We are located in Nova Scotia’s picturesque Annapolis Valley, in the windy knolls by the Bay of Fundy and invite you for a tour anytime.
In closing, nothing gives us more satisfaction than watching our females go out and work for other producers and compete along side us at shows. When we were thinking of what should highlight our sale this year, these two flush sisters quickly came to mind. These gals are your meat and potatoes kind of females, are two peas in a pod in their make up and are the kind that we’ve been striving to produce. They are so soft made, big barrelled, wide topped and hipped, super hairy, have beautiful teat placement, stand on a perfect foot and have the head type that we love on our females -with the added bonus of the iconic Flirt fluffy ears. Flirt 68N was out on the show road this fall and ended it placing first in her heat of very strong heifer calves at the Royal Winter Fair. Their dam, WKF Flirt 24J is our favourite red donor and is outproducing her dam, RF Flirt 824F. She’s huge middled, super easy doing, flawless footed with an impeccable udder. No matter what way you mate her, she knocks it out of the park every single time. Here we have a pair of ET sisters that have stood out in the pen for quite some time. This powerful mating has given us two sisters that are a little different in their kind but consistent in their quality. They come to you out of a maternal sister to our $59,000 donor, RF Flirt 824F that got the Flirt thing rolling for us. Flirt 42N is an extremely quiet, smooth made, moderate framed, well balanced female while Flirt 33N takes after her dam with her incredible length of spine and beautiful teat placement. The Capacity x Caliber mating always seems to click and this mating was no exception. The future for these ladies is bright, whether it be in the show ring or in the donor pen, we look forward to seeing how they’ll compliment their new programs.

Next Level 35N is an absolute firecracker of a female! She’s as cool as her full sib that sold to Maxwell Simmentals in last year’s sale, but comes in a tick more feminine package. This girl has such presence about her and grabs your attention as soon as you walk in the pen. She moves around flawlessly and one that we’re sure will be a ton of fun next year. Her full sib sister, WKF Next Level 4L is now in production here and has developed into a beautiful cow with a tremendous udder that has a bright future in our program - watch for her WHF/JS/CCS Double Up G365 bull calf that will be a highlight in our spring bull sale. This pedigree is loaded with highly productive, big bodied females and goes back to some of our best cows. You won’t want to let this girl pass you by!

WKF Rita 30N is a true gem. For a very long time it was a hard no that she go in the sale, but we wanted to offer our best so here she be! We love her pedigree, she goes back to the RAJ Ms Arnie 46F donor on the bottom side and the production queen, truck of a cow, WKF Doris 43U on the top side. She’s just one that we think is going to make a tremendous breeding piece. She’s very correct in her make up and is probably one of the hairiest fullbloods that we have ever raised here. Her sire, WKF Pablo 60L is out of the matriarch of our fullblood program and sold in our 2025 Boys of Windy Knoll Online bull sale to Meadowvale Farm. He’s a bull that we are so happy to have used as he’s produced one of our most consistent fullblood calf crops to date. Longevity and consistency is locked into this gal!

DLMS FARMGATE TIMED AUCTION
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DLMS FARM GATE TIMED AUCTION WITH EXTENDED BIDDING
1. Visit dlms.ca and follow the link to the DLMS Farm Gate timed auction site www.farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your username and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.
2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.
3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.
4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after close time will extend the sale by the time listed on each sale. In Most cases the time gets shorter the longer in to extended bidding the sale is. When no bidding occurs for the extended time the computer will declare the sale finished.
5. Following the sale the Owner or Sale Manager will invoice all buyers in the sale, please contact the seller with questions or to arrange delivery, pick up or shipping of your purchases. For more info and assistance with bidding contact any of the sale contacts listed on the DLMS Website.

What Is Racehorse Style Sale Close? Racehorse style sale close is whenthe entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows youas the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the biddinghas gone in to extended bidding.
How Will Extended Bidding Work? When we get to the close out end timethe clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.
