WELCOME TO OUR 2025 OFFERING!
Many thanks for your interest in our program. Never before has there been more optimism in the cattle and beef business. We have survived drought, inflation and declining margins. As our cattle cycle turns and more positive returns are occurring and are ahead of us, it has never been a better time to be in the cow-calf business.
It’s a real pleasure to bring the Twisted K Limousin program into our sale. It’s great to partner with folks who are as excited about the Limousin breed as we are.
In this message we have to recognize the passing of our father, grandfather and mentor, “Gramps” Jim Andrew. He and Mom built this ranch while raising eight children and doing what they could to make our community better. Thanks to everyone for the support at the time of his passing. It is now our opportunity to continue his legacy of work ethic, stockmanship and integrity.
We have an offering that includes power bulls for those looking to breed big, mature cows. Moderate framed bulls to stretch out British cows. As well as heifer bulls from some of the easiest calving lines in the breed.
We look forward to seeing you at our Open House in the afternoon of March 9th or call for a tour any time before the sale close on the evening of March 11th.
We are very proud of our 2025 offering.
Deepest regards,
Tim, Lois and Clayton Andrew
Sometimes a slip up can turn out positive in the end. When sorting pairs into breeding groups in 2022, 54L’s mother, (an Oscar daughter) was sent to the B Bar Sting breeding pasture. The resulting herd sire prospect is a line bred Richmond Zodiac and B Bar Nicole 21B product. 54L has developed into a star with incredible depth and muscle expression. The only thing more impressive than this bull’s physical makeup is his incredible docility. “Cover boy” (front of the Cattlemen’s magazine) is sure to put thickness and traditional muscle expression in the calves he sires.
Sire: Dam: 1 Lot
A RPY Cracker son by AI, out of a B Bar Bentley daughter. JDA 13L’s actual and EPD numbers put him in the top third of the pen for birthweight and performance.
338 is a powerful Sting son out of a moderate young black cow bought as a bred heifer from the JYF program in southern Saskatchewan. Sporting a respectable 94 lb birth weight, this cherry red stud is the model of what a Limousin breeding bull should show, with his length, depth, muscle and testicular development.
Sire: Dam: 3 Lot
A RPY Cracker son out of a consistent Treft Zipper cow. Moderate 88 lb birthweight bull that was in the top third of the pen for weaning weight and at yearling ultrasound scan day had one of the largest rib eyes and lean meat yield.
JDA 56L is one of the few DC Evinrude sons in the offering. He was born with a very acceptable 91 lb birthweight. He ranks at or above breed average in 11 of 13 traits charted by the CLA.
JDA 45L saw service duty on our commercial yearling heifers last summer. With a 78 lb actual birthweight and EPD rank in the top 10% of breed for calving ease and birthweight we look forward to another quiet season calving heifers. A B Bar Vertigo son out of our Yosy cow family. As a heifer’s first calf, he gained 3.23 lbs/day from weaning to yearling weight.
JDA 64L is a very eye appealing Oscar son out of a consistent producing B Bar Slate mother. Visitors find 64L quite quickly in the offering and appreciate him for his muscle expression, soundness and overall balance.
A B Bar Bentley son by AI, out of a solid Treft Zipper daughter. JDA 11L’s EPD profile ranks him above breed average in 10 of 13 charted categories. Maternal sibling by B Bar Oscar sold to Justin and Theresa Berry in our 2024 sale.
A B Bar Papa son out of a steady producing Windy Gables cow purchased out of the Agribition sale as a heifer calf. JDA 14L is another bull with a strong EPD profile with 10 of 13 traced categories above breed average, most notably being in the top 1% of Limousin breed for milk.
Sire: Dam: 9 Lot
A 16H son out of a Highland Stock Farm’s cow we purchased as a yearling heifer in their 2018 sale. A moderate birthweight bull whose performance record shows in the top third of the contemporary group for yearling gain. He has ultrasound scores at the very top of the pen for rib, fat and marbling. A bull that will sire steers that gain in the feedyard and replacement heifers that will be easy keeping.
JDA 66L is a B Bar Sting son out of Clayton’s Evaline cow. Good haired, deep and long bodied, he’s the kind to stretch out some more moderate framed cows.
Sire: Dam: 11 Lot
A RPY Cracker son by AI out of a partnership Western Select cow we sold to John Dekroon from Ontario. JDA 31L has a moderate actual birthweight of 72 lbs and a birthweight EPD in the top 15% of the breed. He has one of the largest rib eyes and lean meat yield scores in the entire offering.
JDA 52L is a DC Evinrude son out of a young B Bar Sting female. A very sound, docile bull who combines thickness over his top with a deep hip.
A smooth made Papa son out of a productive Wulf X-Bracing daughter. Long bodied and sound, the bull born at 83 lbs is EPD ranked in the top 10% of breed for birth weight.
A B Bar Vertigo son whose mother goes back to our Yosey cow family. JDA 6L saw duty in our commercial heifer pasture last summer due to his 85 lb birthweight and EPD#s placing him in the top 10% of the breed for birthweight.
LOUD LARRY
Welcome to our first public offering of purebred Limousin genetics. We appreciate the opportunity to be part of the Andrew Ranches Online Bull Sale. We are looking forward to meeting others who are as committed to the Limousin breed as we are.
Loud Larry is one of the most eye appealing individuals in the offering. With a 90 lb birthweight and a non creep fed weaning weight of 615 lbs his performance numbers make him a strong leader in the Keith offering.
TWK 22L is a Richmond Doc Holiday grand son (Diamond C You Cool) out of a Captain America daughter purchased from the Qually family of Rose Valley, SK. A near mirror image of Lot 16, 22L combines a moderate 88 lb birthweight with an EPD profile that ranks him at or above breed average in 9 of 13 charted categories.
TWK 29L is a Richmond Grand Duke grandson out of a consistent producing cow purchased out of the Willowcrest dispersal. Her 2022 bull calf grew out to be utilized in the Keith’s commercial program.
TWK 23K’s performance numbers are ones we all strive for. He had the lightest birthweight and tied for the heaviest weaning weight in the Twisted K offering. He backs these numbers in his EPD profile by ranking above breed average in 9 of 13 charted traits.

James (Jim) Donald Andrew 1934 - 2024
Even months after his passing on October 24, 2024, it is with a heavy heart I write Dad’s tribute. It was no secret that Dad was going to be a rancher. As a small boy his big marbles were bulls, and the smaller ones were cows. They were grouped together in the “herd” and separated in smaller bunches to go to each “pasture.”
In the early 70s Dad went to the Lacombe Research Station to a Field Day displaying the first “D” imported Limousin bulls. He was mesmerized by their length, depth and muscle expression. This charted our breeding direction to this day.
Mom and Dad worked together to build our herd. With Mom’s hands being smaller, it was decided that she should take the training to be the AI technician. As Greg and I came home and bought pasture to expand the operation (40 miles from the home place), it was Dad’s idea to trail the cattle back and forth to this pasture. This is a tradition we have maintained for 40 years.
In 2003, Dad used his UFA debenture payout to purchase the beginnings of our purebred herd from the Stewarts. This herd started with 20 cows and has grown to over 100 females between Greg and I. The focus was to raise our own purebred bulls, to give us a group of uniform commercial steers and heifers to sell.
Even after moving off of the farm in his retirement, he still had an active interest in the ranch, coming along in cousin, Dale O’Dwyer’s motor home on trail drives. Shortly before his passing, we were able to take Dad on a Sunday drive after mass in the handivan, (as he was wheelchair bound). His highlight was seeing cows in the pastures and bales in the field.
Brother, Chris, got this quote that speaks to our parent’s legacy.
“We had a dream, and we had each other. Who could ask for anything more.”
Rest in Peace Dad.
