Crack Sealing

Missouri Avenue Between 75th and 78th Avenues

Crews have been hard at work improving streets in the Yucca District They applied a crack sealing treatment on streets north of Missouri Avenue to Montebello Avenue, west of 75th Avenue to 78th Avenue This process seals cracks on the pavement’s surface, preventing moisture and other damaging materials from entering the base of the roadway. This is the first step in preparation for a slurry seal application in Fall 2024. Stay tuned for more updates on efforts to keep our streets safe and wellmaintained! For more information, please call our Pavement Management Project (PMP) hotline at 602-532-6250.

Slurry Seal

Maryland Avenue Between 51st & 54th Avenues

A slurry seal is a cost-effective pavement maintenance solution that extends the life of asphalt surfaces by 5-7 years. It involves applying a blend of asphalt emulsion, fine aggregates, water, and additives to create a protective layer over existing pavement. This process fills minor cracks, seals the surface, and restores a uniform

appearance, safeguarding against oxidation and moisture. Ideal for residential streets and parking lots, slurry seal is perfect for addressing light wear and tear. It’s a smart choice for enhancing the longevity of pavements without the need for major repairs. Keep your asphalt looking fresh and protected!
