We are excited to share the news of a recent project completed by contracted crews on 69th Avenue and Claremont Street The roadway segment has been successfully widened to allow for two-way and pedestrian traffic to flow smoothly in both directions, with no restrictions on either side It should be noted that this is a temporary fix until funding becomes available for a full reconstruction, which will include work from curb line to curb line.

Grass and Weed Clearing
62nd Avenue Between Myrtle Avenue & Glendale Avenue
The Glendale Works Program successfully completed a cleanup project at a local property in late March 2025 Work began on March 19 and was completed the following day The crew worked diligently to improve the area by removing weeds and overgrown grass
A big thank you goes to Carlos Munoz, a Streets division Crew Leader, for overseeing the crew ’ s efforts during both days. Additionally, we appreciate the ROW division for promptly picking up the trash bags after the work was completed.
While Code Compliance clarified that property owners are responsible for this maintenance, we are grateful for the Glendale Works Program’s assistance in ensuring the area is now clear and tidy. B E F O R E A F T E R

National Public Works Week 2025
This annual celebration will be held the week of May 18th 24th, focusing on People, Purpose, and Presence. This year ’ s theme highlights three cornerstone ideals that motivate Public Works professionals to serve in their communities every day. Meeting the needs of people is what gives public works its sense of purpose. Often, Public Works professionals do not meet those whose lives have been impacted because, when things are going right, no one knows that Public Works was there. Yet, with or without this face-to-face acknowledgement, public works is always present, working in the background to advance the quality of life for all.
