I cambiamenti climatici ci hanno portato un’estate senza precedenti, con temperature superiori ai 40 gradi. Chi era al mare, a cui avevamo dedicato lo scorso numero di GATE, ha probabilmente un po’ mitigato l’afa, ma per chi è rimasto in città nel mese di luglio la vita è stata sicuramente dura. Per questo in questo numero della rivista ci siamo messi alla ricerca di aria fresca, proponendo un fine agosto e un inizio di settembre in montagna. Con l’aiuto di Antonio Montani (un cognome che sembra fatto apposta!) presidente del CAI, Lidia Pregnolato ha selezionato per voi alcune delle località montane più spettacolari e rigeneranti per chi preferisce un’estate al fresco. Da Nord a Sud, dalle Dolomiti al Gran Sasso, sono tutte mete facili e raggiungibili che ci garantiscono un ricambio di temperatura prima di tornare in città. In queste pagine non mancano le destinazioni culturali e storiche, come i castelli di cui è ricco il nostro paese, ma anche alcune città estere meno conosciute da scoprire: è il caso della Polonia che ci presenta quattro gioielli: Varsavia, Cracovia, Poznan e Breslavia. Tra i personaggi del numero di agosto di GATE spicca un mito: Roberto Bolle, che in televisione e in giro per l’Italia sta portando un messaggio di pace circondandosi di partner russi e ucraini tutti pronti a danzare insieme. FRESH AIR Climate change has brought us an unprecedented summer, with temperatures above 40 degrees. Those who were at the seaside, to whom we dedicated the last issue of GATE, probably mitigated the heat a bit, but for those who stayed in the city in July, life was certainly hard. For this reason, in this issue of the magazine we have set out in search of fresh air, proposing a late August and a beginning of September in the mountains. With the help of Antonio Montani (a surname that seems to be made on purpose!) President of the CAI, Lidia Pregnolato has selected for you some of the most spectacular and regenerating mountain resorts for those who prefer a cool summer. From north to south, from the Dolomites to the Gran Sasso, they are all easy and reachable destinations that guarantee us a change of temperature before returning to the city. From 2 to 8 September 2022, the Mediolanum Forum in Assago will host the matches of Group C of EuroBasket 2022. Tickets are on sale from 2 November 2021. Il Mudec di Milano presenta fino all’ 11settembre una grande mostra personale dedicata al celebre fotografo statunitense David LaChapelle dal titolo “David LaChapelle. I Believe in Miracles”.Per l’occasione sono esposte oltre 90 opere, tra cui una video installazione, che portano il visitatore in un mondo molto suggestivo e inedito dell’artista.
Un progetto che nasce con l’obiettivo di valorizzare un’eccellenza di Torino e che trova le sue origini nel 1800 con “L’ora del Vermouth”: un momento, circa un’ora prima della cena, durante il quale si degustava il Vermouth di Torino accompagnato dai “piat ‘d rinforss”, dei piattini di rinforzo costituiti da “ulive, acciughe insalate, peperoni in aceto, salsicciotto o prosciutto affettato, ed altre simili cose”. Il Vermouth di Torino è il più celebre vino aromatizzato italiano, già apprezzato alla corte reale dei Savoia. Il suo nome deriva dal termine tedesco wermut che definisce l’Artemisia absinthium (assenzio maggiore), base aromatica principale nella preparazione di questo vino che ha origini che si perdono nei primi secoli dopo Cristo.

Per molti secoli l’utilizzo del vino aromatizzato fu principalmente medicinale, ma con il Rinascimento l’ampio uso delle spezie giunte dall’Oriente, come cannella, chiodi di garofano e rabarbaro, permise di arricchire la ricetta donandole nuove note aromatiche. E proprio a partire dalla metà del Quattrocento il Piemonte iniziò a distinguersi per la perizia nell’arte della distillazione. Perizia che crebbe rapidamente in pochi secoli, tanto che nel Settecento i liquoristi torinesi godevano già di ampia celebrità al di fuori dello Nell’OttocentoStivale.
The Turin Vermouth Consortium includes 23 members (www.vermouthditorino.org) and its main purpose is the protection, promotion, enhancement, supervision and general care of the “Vermouth di Torino” GI Geographical Indication. Established in 2019 after more than 20 years of work, this Consortium was born by the will of the vermouth producers who, aware of the need and importance of regulation, have jointly defined a product specification approved by the 22 March 2017 Decree, with which the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies regulated the Geographical Indication Vermouth of Turin / Vermouth of Turin.

Il format di Extra Vermouth prevede: 3 degustazioni di Vermouth in purezza oppure 1 degustazione in purezza e 1 cocktail con l’abbinamento di 4 assaggi di piatti o prodotti tipici piemontesi, evocativi del concetto di merenda sinoira, e 1 assaggio dolce (dalle bignole al cioccolato) per concludere in dolcezza.

E che ha visto sfilare capi di nuovo finalmente in linea con l’Italian style, ma anche ospitato workshop sui nuovi materiali riciclati e riciclabili, nati dalle start up ,avviate da giovani ricercatori universitari, marchi prestigiosi, sigle storiche dell’ecologismo globale.
Moda e design sono stati i settori creativi e industriali che per primi si sono posti il problema di promuovere una efficace economia circolare per salvare il Pianeta dai cambiamenti climatici. Ma soprattutto all’inizio, la sensibilità estetica dei produttori e dei consumatori del comparto ha sofferto molto per la necessità di cominciare da una politica di denuncia, più che di proposte alternative. Quante sfilate, e quanti cataloghi di prodotti orrendi si sono visti, fatti di sacchi di plastica usati, e di materiali di scarto: cartoni, trucioli, casse di legno, scarti metallici di ogni tipo. Poi si è capito che la strada giusta era quella di arrivare ad una alleanza fra ideazione visuale, industria, ricerca e associazioni ambientaliste, in nome dello sviluppo sostenibile. Il risultato, più che positivo, ha dato al. mercato del lusso, del fashion e dell’arredamento ,nuovo gusto e nuova qualità, col supporto delle più avanzate soluzioni tecnologiche, di processo e di marketing, sempre più in sintonia con le linee guida della social responsability delle aziende .

VARSAVIA DA PASSATO AL FUTURO Varsavia è una capitale dinamica e proiettata verso il futuro, un futuro che ha le radici salde nella storia e nella memoria. Gli autobus ecologici, le caffetterie alla moda, il bike-sharing sempre più efficiente, gli uffici delle multinazionali e le boutique più prestigiose fanno parte del panorama cittadino tanto quanto gli edifici storici, i vecchi ristoranti popolari, i giardini settecenteschi o la memoria di Chopin che in vari modi si diffonde per tutta la città. La corsa di Varsavia verso il futuro e la sua cura della storia spesso si fondono dando vita a micro-mondi di grande fascino e funzionalità, ma anche contraddizioni evidenti in grado di incuriosire e di fare riflettere, rendendo così una visita a Varsavia un’esperienza unica nel panorama polacco e in quello est europeo in generale.
LE TERRAZZE DORATE Il primo, macroscopico, gioco tra passato e futuro si incontra arrivando in treno alla stazione di Varsavia centrale. Un tempo fiore all’occhiello della rete infrastrutturale polacca, oggi incorporata con il complesso centro commerciale noto come Złote Tarasy, ovvero “terrazze dorate”. Qui hanno i loro punti vendita le maggiori boutique internazionali e i grandi supermercati, ma anche piccoli negozi specifici per ogni tipo di acquisto. A poche centinaia di metri dalla stazione e da Złote Tarasy si erge uno dei simboli più noti di Varsavia, il Pałac Kultury i Nauki (Palazzo della cultura e delle scienze), donato negli anni ’50 dall’Unione alla Polonia e costruito in pieno stile staliniano, tanto evidentemente che è stato sempre evocativo dello stalinismo e che nel 1989 la sua demolizione fu all’ordine del giorno, salvo poi finire bocciata dalla giunta comunale. Oggi ospita un raffinato centro congressi con varie sale e una terrazza panoramica da cui si può dominare tutta la città, ed è ancora l’edificio più alto in tutta la Polonia sebbene la modernizzazione di Varsavia stia arricchendo la skyline della città con grattacieli sempre più avveniristici e progettati da architetti di fama mondiale che fanno letteralmente a gara per superarlo in altezza, come ad esempio il Warszawskie Centrum Finansowe (Centro finanziario di Varsavia) progettato dallo studio americano Epstein & Sons ed edificato proprio a poche centinaia di metri di distanza dal Palazzo della cultura.
ll primo luogo che salta all’occhio dei visitatori a Cracovia la Piazza del Mercato (Rynek Główny), vero e proprio centro storico, meta di passeggiate e del turismo più tradizionale con i suoi monumenti come la cattedrale gotica di Santa Maria e il Fondaco dei Tessuti che domina la piazza, i numerosi negozi di souvenir e i vari caffè tutti attorno presso i quali ci si può sedere a bere un caffè o un bicchiere di vino e, di tanto in tanto, ascoltare della musica dal vivo.

BRESLAVIA E I SUOI 100 PONTI Breslavia è una delle città più antiche e più belle della Polonia. Estesa su 12 isole collegate da oltre 100 ponti, conserva ancora le tracce della dominazione ceca, di quella tedesca e del proprio carattere polacco, riconoscendosi oggi come una vera e propria città europea, crogiolo di culture e tradizioni. Viene definita città del dialogo. Qui la storia ha creato un’identità difficile ma proprio per questo è una delle città polacche estremamente interessanti ed aperte. Nel 2016 è stata nominata Capitale europea della cultura, nel 2018 la Migliore destinazione europea. Il cuore di Breslavia è la Piazza del Mercato, piena di vita in ogni ora del giorno. Al suo centro si trova il Mercato dei Tessuti (Sukiennice) e il Municipio, un monumento unico su scala europea di architettura gotica e rinascimentale che oggi ospita il Museo dell’Arte Borghese. La piazza è circondata dai caratteristici palazzi colorati.
LA BIRRA DI POZNAM Poznań è una delle città più antiche e ricche della Polonia. E’ un centro fieristico internazionale, industriale e accademico. Organizza congressi e conferenze internazionali, eventi sportivi a livello europeo e mondiale in diverse discipline. La Piazza del Mercato (Rynek - un quadrato di quasi 141m) da cui partono dodici stradine, è circondata da piccoli edifici del XVI e XVII secolo, alcuni comprendono portici e arcate che ospitavano anticamente le bancarelle dei mercanti. Qui si trovano gallerie d’arte, musei, gioiellerie, birrerie (la birra della regione di Poznań è ottima), ristoranti ( diversi generi di cucina polacca e internazionale ) e caffè. Splendore della Piazza del Mercato è il Municipio rinascimentale, considerato una perla dell’architettura della sua epoca. E’ ornato da una bella facciata e da tre livelli di logge ad arcate. Su una piccola piattaforma posta sull’orologio del Municipio alle ore 12:00 compaiono le figure di due capre, riconosciute come simbolo della città. Attualmente il Municipio ospita il Museo Storico di Poznań. Nel mese di giugno nella Piazza del Mercato si svolge la Fiera di San Giovanni, dove è possibile acquistare opere d’arte, oggetti d’antiquariato e d’arte popolare, gustare le delizie della cucina regionale che rendono famosa Poznań e la regione Wielkopolska. Non lontano dalla Piazza del Mercato (Viale Marcinkowskiego, 10) si trova un antico Bazar, una volta centro della vita commerciale, politica ed economica degli abitanti di Poznań ed elegante albergo. Oggi accoglie boutique di noti stilisti.
L’ANIMA EBRAICA E NOTTURNA Chi ama la musica dal vivo e le atmosfere un po’ undergound preferirà piuttosto lo storico quartiere ebraico di Kazimierz che oggi ospita innumerevoli piccoli locali, alcuni dei quali organizzano spesso serate di cabaret e musica dal vivo, altri sono semplici ma radicati luoghi di ritrovo e fanno di Kazimierz forse la meta più classica della vita notturna in città. Al di là di questo suo nuovo aspetto, negli ultimi anni il quartiere ha riscoperto la sua identità ebraica e difatti, nei pressi della storica Sinagoga, oggi ci sono diversi ristoranti kosher, locali, caffè e librerie “a tema”. Inoltre a Kazimierz si tiene ogni anno il Festival della cultura ebraica più radicato e riconosciuto d’Europa, giunto ormai alla sua venticinquesima edizione.

The first, macroscopic, game between past and future is encountered when arriving by train at the central Warsaw station. Once the flagship of the Polish infrastructure network, today incorporated with the shopping center complex known as Złote Tarasy, or “golden terraces”. Here major international boutiques and large supermarkets have their points of sale, as well as small boutique shops for every type of purchase. A few hundred meters from the station and from Złote Tarasy stands one of the bestknown symbols of Warsaw, the Pałac Kultury i Nauki (Palace of Culture and Sciences), donated in the 1950s by the Soviet Union to Poland and built in full Stalinist style so evidently that it has always been evocative of Stalinism and that, in 1989, its demolition was on the agenda only to be rejected by the city council. Today, it houses a refined congress center with various rooms and a panoramic terrace from which you can dominate the whole city, and it is still the tallest building in all of Poland, although the modernization of Warsaw is enriching the city skyline with increasingly futuristic skyscrapers designed by worldfamous architects who literally compete to surpass it in height, such as the Warszawskie Centrum Finansowe (Warsaw Financial Center) designed by the American studio Epstein & Sons and built just a few hundred meters away from the Palace of Culture.

BRESLAVIA AND ITS 100 BRIDGES Wroclaw is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Poland. Spread over 12 islands connected by over 100 bridges, it still retains traces of Czech domination, German domination and its own Polish character, recognizing itself today as a real European city, a melting pot of cultures and traditions. It is called the city of dialogue. Here history has created a difficult identity, but for this very reason it is one of the most interesting and open Polish cities. In 2016 it was named European Capital of Culture, and in 2018 the Best European Destination. The heart of Wrocław is the Market Square, full of life at any time of day. At its center is the Textile Market (Sukiennice) and the Town Hall, a unique monument on a European scale of Gothic and Renaissance architecture that now houses the Borghese Art Museum. The square is surrounded by the characteristic colorful buildings.
European atmosphere offers the most sincere experience of Poland to those who approach it for the first time. Krakow is a city literally on a human scale: within a radius of just over a kilometer from the Wawel Hill, the castle that was the residence of the Polish kings until the end of the sixteenth century and today is a must for anyone visiting Krakow, some micro-worlds that make up the historical soul of the city are concentrated, while outside this circle - but easily reachable by tram - a different Krakow opens up, less conservative but equally fascinating. The first place that catches the eye of visitors in Krakow is the Market Square (Rynek Główny), a real historic center and a destination for walks and more traditional tourism with its monuments such as the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Maria and the Fondaco dei Fabrics overlooking the square, the numerous souvenir shops and various cafes all around where you can sit for a coffee or a glass of wine and, from time to time, listen to live music.

Those who love live music and slightly undergound atmospheres will rather prefer the historic Jewish district of Kazimierz which today hosts countless small clubs, some of which often organize cabaret evenings and live music, others are simple but rooted meeting places and make Kazimierz perhaps the most classic nightlife destination in the city. Beyond this new aspect, in recent years the neighborhood has rediscovered its Jewish identity and in fact, near the historic Synagogue, today there are several kosher restaurants, clubs, cafes and “themed” bookstores. In addition, the most rooted and recognized Jewish Culture Festival in Europe is held every year in Kazimierz, now in its twenty-fifth edition.
THE BEER OF POZNAM Poznań is one of the oldest and wealthiest cities in Poland. It is an international, industrial and academic exhibition center. It organizes international congresses and conferences, and sporting events at European and world level in different disciplines. The Market Square (Rynek - a square of almost 141m) where twelve streets start, is surrounded by small buildings of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Some include arcades and arches that once housed the stalls of the merchants. Here you will find art galleries, museums, jewelers, breweries (the beer from the Poznań region is excellent), restaurants (different kinds of Polish and international cuisine) and cafes. Splendor of the Market Square is the Renaissance Town Hall, considered an architecutural pearl of its era. It is adorned with a beautiful facade and three levels of arcaded loggias. The figures of two goats, recognized as the symbol of the city, appear on a small platform placed on the Town Hall clock at 12:00. The Town Hall currently houses the Poznań Historical Museum. In June, the St. John’s Fair takes place in the Market Square, where you can buy works of art, antiques and folk art, taste the delights of regional cuisine that make Poznań and the Wielkopolska region famous. Not far from the Market Square (Marcinkowskiego Avenue, 10) is an old bazaar, once the center of the commercial, political and economic life of the inhabitants of Poznań and an elegant hotel. Today it welcomes boutiques of well-known designers.

ALTO ADIGE, IL CUORE DELLE DOLOMITI Paradiso degli sciatori in inverno e degli amanti delle lunghe camminate dei boschi in estate, l’Alto Adige è sicuramente una zona capace di offrire servizi di ottimo livello, sia dal punto di vista delle strutture ricettive che della cura con cui le bellezze naturali sono custodite e valorizzate. Le possibilità di praticare sport sono innumerevoli in ogni stagione dell’anno: dal classico alpinismo agli sport invernali, alle discipline più recenti e adrenaliniche come l’enduro e il downhill. Il suo comprensorio è uno dei più estesi delle Alpi, collegato con le piste di Valtournenche e quelle svizzere di Zermatt, dove, sul ghiacciato, è possibile addirittura sciare in estate. Oltre a sci e trekking di varia difficoltà, si possono fare anche tranquille passeggiate attorno al lago Layet, più conosciuto come Lago Blu del Cervino, luogo da cartolina dove il profilo iconico di questa montagna si riflette nel limpido specchio d’acqua. Qui è anche piacevole giocare a golf in una cornice naturale spettacolare, ai piedi della Gran Becca, dove si trova un campo a 18 buche.
Situata sulle Alpi occidentali e nota per i picchi innevati del Cervino, del Monte Bianco, del Monte Rosa e del Gran Paradiso, la Valle d’Aosta, per quanto piccola, è un’altra zona montana del nostro paese che offre innumerevoli risorse a chi decide di trascorre qualche giorno qui nei mesi estivi. Courmayeur e Cervinia sono tra i resort sciistici più importanti, ma sono altrettanto affascinanti se visitati in estate. La campagna della regione è inoltre disseminata di castelli e fortezze medievali, come il Castello di Fénis e il Castello di Verrès, risalenti al XIV secolo. Festival musicali, trekking gourmet, benessere termale sono solo alcune delle innumerevoli attività a disposizione. Breuil-Cervinia, ad esempio, è una moderna stazione turistica posta ai piedi del Monte Cervino.
27 periodi estivi, sempre più gettonato è l’equiturismo. Forse non tutti sanno che proprio in Alto Adige si trova una località, Avelengo, nota per aver dato il nome alla razza equina Haflinger (da Hafling, nome tedesco di Avelengo). Conosciuta anche come paradiso per escursionisti e amanti della natura, Avelengo è raggiungibile con facilità dalla vicina città di Merano. Famiglie, buongustai, appassionati di sport e cavalli si divertono ad esplorare la natura su sentieri di ogni tipo ammirando la spettacolare vista sulle montagne. Un vero must è la “terrazza sportiva” di Merano, che consente di praticare attività di ogni sorta – tra cui escursionismo, mountain bike e parapendio – e che delizia il palato in accoglienti ristoranti e su ampie terrazze al sole. Per un soggiorno davvero indimenticabile e immerso nella natura non possiamo non consigliare il San Luis che si trova proprio ad Avelengo e sorge attorno a un lago di 5800 mq, in una radura inviolata immersa in 40 ettari di parco alpino. Gli alloggi che lo compongono sono strutture pensate per favorire un contatto primordiale con la natura: chalet in legno e casette sugli alberi, frutto di uno stile essenziale che mescola elementi naturali e tanta cura dei dettagli. Anche la lobby centrale, il Clubhouse, riflette la stessa filosofia e racchiude tutti i servizi e le comodità di un albergo dalle alchimie speciali. Ballando insieme ci capiamo. È straordinario. Non ci sono barriere, confini e distinzioni di razza. L’artista unisce e non divide. Sa dialogare, al di sopra di tutto». C’è anche l’assolo “In Your Black Eyes” creato per lei da Patrick de Bana sulla splendida musica di Ezio Bosso. «Sono molto legato a quel pezzo. Esprime la mia parte più emotiva. Con questo assolo voglio omaggiare un grande artista, Ezio Bosso, che con la sua musica parla al cuore, all’anima di ognuno di noi. Componeva melodie che ti entravano dentro in modo potente. Sul palco mi metto completamente a nudo, e mostro un lato più fragile. Sono tante le sfumature del mio essere artista che voglio rivelare».

Vederla ballare in televisione ha fatto innamorare le persone della danza, soprattutto ragazzi e i ragazzini. Il balletto è diventato pop e democratico?
«Si, è la missione della mia vita. Voglio che la danza sia di tutti e allargarla al pubblico più eterogeneo. Portarla fuori dai suoi luoghi canonici per avvicinare persone che alla Scala, dove ballavo, non potevano venire. Il ballo viene considerato elitario, raffinato e per pochi. In qualche modo distante. Mi sono mosso per dimostrare il contrario e il primo atto è stato il galà. Ultimamente ho anche usato la tecnologia e la realtà digitale, portando la danza nel metaverso. E’ giusto sperimentare uno spettacolo con effetti visivi diversi e un linguaggio contemporanea».
«La danza è vita», diceva Carla Fracci. ma ha mai avuto la tentazione di fermarsi? «Il dubbio c’è stato nella prima fase la pandemia. Mesi senza mettere piedi in un teatro, lontano dalla sala prove senza potermi allenare ed esprimermi. Il fisico cambiava in quell’attesa. E’ stato difficile e mi sono chiesto se sarei stato in grado di tornare alle stesse performance. Avevo paura. A piccoli passi ho ripreso, a lavorare sul corpo con sacrificio, dedizione e disciplina quotidiana perché l’amore profondo per la danza è stato più forte di tutto». Cosa teme di questi tempi difficili per l’ambiente e i diritti sociali?
«E’ un momento complicato per tutta l’umanità. Siamo messi di fronte a grandi prove: dal conflitto in Ucraina alla pandemia dalla quale non siamo ancora del tutto usciti, fino ai diritti acquisiti che vengono negati. Viviamo un’inversione di tendenza, dopo tante conquiste. Per affrontare tutto ci vuole una grande intelligenza, maturità e resilienza. Rimanendo ancorati ai valori della persona, della nostra vita e a tutto quello che ci fa stare bene, alla bellezza dell’arte che regala ogni volta ossigeno».
Ed è quello che ha cercato di fare anche in tv con Danza con me, e con OnDance. «C’è bisogno di un pubblico nuovo, giovane. Non è che non la apprezza o non la capisce, non la conosce. Danza con me è una festa. Sto lavorando per lo show che arriverà a Gennaio su RaiUno con tanti ospiti e sorprese».

«Suoniamo i pezzi nuovi e quelli degli Afterhours scritti da me, e li rivisitiamo, che non vuol dire stravolgerli. A essere diversi sono i musicisti e già quello è sufficiente a dare un nuovo sound più fresco e arrangiamenti diversi. Con me Frankie e DD dei Little Pieces of Marmelade, Beatrice Antolini e Giacomo Rossetti dei Negrita. Musicisti che hanno una sensibilità diversa. C’è una nuova attitudine. Brani che hanno riacquistato vita. Una forza e potenza vera». Sul palco si riaccende il sacro fuoco?
«Per me il concerto è un rito sacro. Un viaggio interiore. La musica è una parte fondamentale della mia vita perché mi ha davvero salvato. Non mi accontenterò mai di quello che ho già fatto e avrò sempre sete di nuove esperienze e sound. Sul palco mi sento completamente me stesso. È un luogo dove essere sinceri come in nessun altro posto» È cambiato il suo rapporto con il pubblico? «Quando abbiamo iniziato a suonare volevamo essere dei disturbatori e dividere. Avevamo un approccio volutamente ostile nei confronti del pubblico, questo aspetto è cambiato radicalmente. Adesso è stare tra la gente e la musica mi ha aiutato a trovare un modo per farlo. Anche la tv come giudice a X Factor mi ha spinto a mostrare una parte di me più empatica, che solo gli amici conoscevano. Avevo paura che sul palco poteva togliermi intensità, ne avevo un po’ paura. Invece no». Signorina Mani Avanti, Un brano che invita a uscire dalle gabbie e ad esplodere come una stella con le percussioni che sono state fatte con oggetti della vita quotidiana: cartoni- bidoni metallici- catene.… «Negli ultimi due anni ho riconsiderato la mia vita, ho voluto togliermi di dosso la routine della band, che rimane un progetto centrale. Ora il guscio del gruppo non è protettivo ma asfittico. Scrollarmi di dosso le certezze assodate, ripetizioni di un certo tipo. Di schemi che mi avevano stancato. Ho scelto di parlarne anche nelle mie canzoni. Racconto il cambiamento, che cambia a modo suo, alla fine noi cerchiamo sempre di alimentare questa fantomatica rivoluzione però poi non ci accontenta mai. Questo succede sempre quando lo forzi, invece di aspettarlo. Racconto come liberarsi dalle aspettative che noi stessi ci eravamo imposti di realizzare. È proprio perdere il controllo che ci aiuta a eliminare trovare la libertà interiore». Un nuovo Manuel Agnelli? «Non in modo schizofrenico, non voglio diventare un’altra cosa o rinnegare il passato. Alcuni brani sono una rivisitazione dell’oggi altri sono più contemporanei come Proci. Rivendico quello che sono in tutte le mie sfaccettature e in totale libertà, con la presunzione di pensare che c’è un marchio di fabbrica, la mia personalità che fa da collante». C’è tanta voglia di musica come condivisione, unione sociale e culturale. In questo senso il suo ruolo è fondamentale? «La musica alimenta e racconta. È linguaggio, lo uso per comunicare con me stesso, gli altri e per stare in mezzo alla gente. Aiuta il cambiamento e i fenomeni. C’è una grande voglia di rock e di condivisione. I live sono una grande occasione per incontrarci fisicamente, dopo quello che abbiamo vissuto. Tornare a suonare veramente è la vera rivoluzione. Non c’è niente di più potente». Debutterà, in autunno, a teatro come protagonista della versione italiana di Lazarus, il musical ideato e scritto da David Bowie insieme al drammaturgo irlandese Enda Walsh. Come è stato l’incontro con il Duca Bianco? «Era un modello, un artista così completo ed eclettico. Quando ero un ragazzino amavamo il Bowie degli anni berlinesi. Poi sono andato a scoprire l’interprete di Ziggy Stardust. Non mi interessava il glamour, allora ero in pieno post punk. Questo è una pièce teatrale uno spettacolo contemporaneo e originale. In scena ci sono alcuni classici e gli ultimi brani, quelli di Blackstar. C’è l’uomo che cade sulla terra oggi».

Ancora una volta, l’Aeroporto di Fiumicino è stato confermato miglior hub europeo per il 2022… e intanto, si fanno accordi per la viabilità aerea del futuro
Per la quarta volta negli ultimi cinque anni, l’Aeroporto Internazionale “Leonardo Da Vinci” è stato premiato con l’Aci Europe Best Airport Awards. E così, anche nel 2022 lo scalo della Capitale si è guadagnato questo importante riconoscimento internazionale. “Airport Council International” (ACI), l’associazione istituzionale che rileva in modo indipendente il gradimento dei passeggeri nei principali aeroporti del mondo, ha assegnato all’hub di Fiumicino l’Aci Europe Best Airport Award 2022, nella categoria degli aeroporti con oltre 40 milioni di passeggeri. Questo risultato si aggiunge al riconoscimento del “Leonardo da Vinci” che per 5 anni consecutivi risulta in testa alla classifica europea sulla qualità del servizio espressa direttamente dai passeggeri.
La giuria degli Aci Europe Best Airport Awards 2022 era composta da autorevoli rappresentanti della Commissione Europea, EUROCONTROL, SESAR Joint Undertaking, International Transport Forum and ECAC. I giudici hanno valutato non solo come gli aeroporti hanno reagito alla crisi dovuta alla pandemia, ma anche come stanno innovando concentrandosi sugli obiettivi di sostenibilità del settore aeroportuale, in materia di decarbonizzazione. A rendere possibile la vittoria del Leonardo da Vinci, sono stati proprio gli ottimi risultati ottenuti da Aeroporti di Roma nell’innovazione tecnologica, con la sua strategia orientata a un futuro sempre più all’avanguardia, che sfrutta la digitalizzazione e l’open innovation per offrire ai passeggeri ancora più sicurezza e comfort durante il viaggio. In questo contesto, spicca la realizzazione nello scalo dell’Innovation hub dedicato alle start-up e lo sviluppo dei servizi di urban air mobility con l’avvio dei primi collegamenti dei velivoli elettrici a decollo verticale tra l’aeroporto e Roma già nel 2024. In tema di sostenibilità, particolare apprezzamento è stato riconosciuto per l’obiettivo di Fiumicino di diventare Net Zero Emission nel 2030, con venti anni di anticipo rispetto a quanto prefissato a livello di settore aeroportuale europeo, nell’intermodalità con lo sviluppo di prodotti integrati treno+aereo, e nella diffusione del SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), il biocarburante in grado di ridurre le emissioni di CO2 del 60-90%. “Siamo orgogliosi di questo nuovo primato”, ha dichiarato l’Amministratore delegato di Aeroporti di Roma, Marco Troncone, “frutto dell’impegno quotidiano e appassionato dei nostri collaboratori e di tutti i nostri partners. Stiamo lavorando alla realizzazione dell’aeroporto del futuro con maggiore ricorso alla tecnologia, massima efficienza nel rapporto con l’ambiente, ulteriore affidabilità e resilienza infrastrutturale ed operativa, massima sicurezza e tanto comfort e servizi a valore aggiunto per i nostri passeggeri. Come dimostra la nuova area d’imbarco inaugurata da poco più di un mese, che giocherà un ruolo cruciale nel far sì che Roma e l’Italia possano riaffermare la loro centralità nel panorama internazionale”.
LA MOBILITÀ AEREA DEL FUTURO Nel frattempo, lo scorso luglio, Leonardo e Aeroporti di Roma hanno annunciato, in occasione del World ATM Congress che si è appena concluso a Madrid, una partnership per equipaggiare i vertiporti (ovvero, le strutture a terra degli aeroporti) con soluzioni tecnologiche innovative a beneficio della mobilità aerea del futuro.
I velivoli a pilotaggio remoto rappresentano la nuova frontiera del business per le industrie del settore. Leonardo ha sviluppato tecnologie e applicazioni in tutti i suoi ambiti di attività, con investimenti significativi in piattaforme, sensori, comunicazioni, sistemi di controllo, così come nelle piattaforme e tecnologie per gestire il controllo del traffico aereo manned e unmanned.
Leonardo, leader mondiale nelle tecnologie e soluzioni per il controllo del traffico aereo (ATC) e la gestione aeroportuale, è impegnata da tempo nello sviluppo del sistema di controllo del traffico aereo “unmanned” (UTM), cioè senza operatori umani, e in una serie di sperimentazioni con mezzi a pilotaggio remoto nel campo della Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), mentre Aeroporti di Roma con “UrbanV” è impegnata nella progettazione e gestione delle infrastrutture di terra dedicate all’Advanced Air Mobility, in questo momento impegnata nello sviluppo di un network di vertiporti a beneficio delle città di Roma, Venezia e della Costa Azzurra e, a livello globale, come first movers del nascente settore.

La partnership conferma l’impegno delle due società in questo campo e fa seguito ad un accordo siglato da Leonardo con AdR a inizio 2022 per lo sviluppo di progetti innovativi, tra cui la mobilità aerea urbana, con particolare riferimento ai requisiti di sviluppo di infrastrutture di terra e controllo del traffico aereo.
In particolare, Leonardo studierà assieme ad Aeroporti di Roma soluzioni tecnologiche ed equipaggiamenti di terra idonei per lo sviluppo dei nuovi vertiporti, testando al contempo nuovi concetti operativi per accelerare il processo di maturazione tecnologica, regolamentare e procedurale, con l’obiettivo di passare in futuro dalla sperimentazione alla fornitura di servizi.
“Adr”, ha dichiarato Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer di Aeroporti di Roma, “sta attivamente lavorando per progettare le strutture a terra, i cosiddetti vertiporti, e facilitare l’avvio operativo di questo tipo di servizio su Roma con una timeline sfidante per lanciare le prime operazioni commerciali tra l’aeroporto di Fiumicino e la città di Roma nel 2024, magari in via sperimentale, e di offrire la possibilità di utilizzare taxi volanti nello stesso anno. Secondo il piano, questa prima rotta commerciale sarebbe tra le primissime al mondo a sfruttare la Urban Air Mobility che rappresenta la sintesi perfetta del nostro impegno nei confronti di due obiettivi strategici chiave, sostenibilità e innovazione, a cui diamo priorità anche nei progetti infrastrutturali per l’aeroporto del futuro”.
Leonardo è l’unica realtà in Europa in grado di fornire da una parte soluzioni a pilotaggio remoto complete, progettando e sviluppando tutti gli elementi di un sistema “drone based”, per missioni di intelligence, sorveglianza, monitoraggio ambientale, acquisizione informazioni, integrando piattaforme, sensori radar ed elettro-ottici, sistemi di missione e stazioni di controllo a terra e dall’altra soluzioni per il controllo del traffico aereo e per la gestione aeroportuale, spaziando dai radar meteo alle tecnologie per le comunicazioni sicure in ambito aeroportuale.

For the fourth time in the last five years, the “Leonardo Da Vinci” International Airport has been awarded the ACI Europe Best Airport Awards. And so, again in 2022 the airport of the capital earned this important international recognition. “Airport Council International” (ACI), the institutional association that independently measures the satisfaction of passengers in the main airports in the world, has awarded the Fiumicino hub the Aci Europe Best Airport Award 2022, in the category of airports with over 40 million passengers. Remotely piloted aircrafts represent the new business frontier for the industries in the sector. THE AIR MOBILITY OF THE FUTURE In the meantime, last July, Leonardo and Aeroporti di Roma announced on the occasion of the World ATM Congress which has just ended in Madrid, a partnership to equip the vertiports (that is, the ground structures of the airports) with innovative technological solutions to benefit the air mobility of the future.
The partnership confirms the commitment of the two companies in this field and follows an agreement signed by Leonardo with AdR at the beginning of 2022 for the development of innovative projects, including urban air mobility, with particular reference to the development requirements of land and air traffic control. In particular, Leonardo will study together with Aeroporti di Roma technological solutions and ground equipment suitable for the development of the new vertiports, at the same time testing new operational concepts to accelerate the process of technological, regulatory and procedural maturation, with the aim of passing in the future from experimentation to the provision of services.
Leonardo is the only company in Europe able to provide complete remote piloted solutions on the one hand, designing and developing all the elements of a “drone based” system, for intelligence missions, surveillance, environmental monitoring, information acquisition, integrating platforms , radar and electro-optical sensors, mission systems and ground control stations and, on the other hand, solutions for air traffic control and airport management, ranging from weather radars to secure communications technologies in the airport environment.

Un po’ di storia Come detto, Villa Doria Pamphilj è stata originariamente concepita come residenza “fuori porta” della omonima famiglia romana, sotto il pontificato di Papa Innocenzo X, che faceva parte della famiglia Pamphilj. Col tempo, si è trasformata in una villa sfarzosa, con intorno un parco meraviglioso e sempre più esteso, grazie all’acquisizione, nel corso degli anni, di nuovi terreni. È stato alla fine degli anni ’30 del secolo scorso che il Comune di Roma ha iniziato i primi espropri, fino a quando, nel 1957, lo Stato ha acquisito tutta l’area originaria della villa. Infine, dal 1971, l’intero parco è diventato aperto al pubblico. Oggi, ritroviamo nella parte est la maggior parte delle testimonianze artistiche e architettoniche, come edifici e fontane, mentre nella parte ovest della villa si trova la zona più “selvaggia”, con aspetti naturalistici più importanti.
La “selvaggia” parte occidentale Come detto, la parte occidentale di Villa Doria Pamphilj è molto più naturale, e sembra di ritrovarsi in un piacevole e bucolico tratto di campagna romana. Qui si trovano, tra l’altro interessanti resti archeologici di una necropoli romana, dove sono state ritrovate due sfarzose tombe di età augustea, i cui suggestivi affreschi oggi si possono vedere presso il Museo Nazionale Romano. Qui si può venire a passeggiare, riposare o praticare dello sport, ma non mancano, comunque, alcuni edifici interessanti anche in questa parte della villa. Per esempio, il Casale di
Visitare la parte orientale della villa Conviene iniziare la visita di Villa Doria Pamphilj da Porta San Pancrazio, che si trova sull’omonima via. Una volta superata questa entrata, si incontra quasi subito il cosiddetto Arco del Quattro Venti. Procedendo lungo il viale, si può osservare la Palazzina Corsini, edificio risalente al XVIII secolo che apparteneva alla omonima Villa Corsini. Si può proseguire, a questo punto, lungo Viale del Maglio, per raggiungere una delle più affascinanti strutture architettoniche della villa, il Casino del Bel Respiro, o Palazzina dell’Algardi, così chiamata dal suo architetto. Si può entrare a visitarla, poiché al suo interno sono presenti diverse opere d’arte. Ancora oggi, è utilizzata per feste e manifestazioni. Da non perdere anche il Giardino Segreto del Casino del Bel Respiro, fiancheggiato da una scalinata che conduce al Giardino del Teatro, struttura semicircolare dove si svolgevano rappresentazioni teatrali. Alla sinistra del Giardino del Teatro, proseguendo in quella direzione, troverete invece la Cappella Doria Pamphilj, costruita tra il 1806 e il 1902. In questa zona della villa si trova una suggestiva pineta che, se fiancheggiata, conduce alla Fontana del Giglio. I suoi suggestivi giochi d’acqua confluiscono nel Laghetto del Belvedere.

Ai tempi dell’aristocrazia romana, nelle aree più selvagge del parco erano stati introdotti animali selvatici per le battute di caccia della nobiltà, quali daini, cervi e fagiani. Sembrerebbe che ancora oggi sia presente, nella parte più selvaggia della villa, della fauna selvatica che vive piacevolmente in questo polmone verde della Capitale.

Over time it has been transformed into a sumptuous villa, surrounded by a wonderful and increasingly extensive park thanks to the acquisition of new land over the Ityears.was at the end of the 1930s that the Municipality of Rome began the first expropriations, until, in 1957, the State acquired the entire original area of the villa. Since 1971, the entire park has become open to the public. It had in fact been built using the remains of the Traiano-Paolo Aqueduct, and Panfilo Pamphilj had bought it in 1630. THE OLDEST BUILDING IN THE VILLA

Also not to be missed is the Secret Garden of the Casino del Bel Respiro, flanked by a staircase leading to the Theater Garden, a semicircular structure where theatrical performances were held. To the left of the Theater Garden, continuing in that direction, you will find the Doria Pamphilj Chapel built between 1806 and 1902. In this area of the villa there is a suggestive pine forest which, if flanked, leads to the Fontana del Giglio. Its evocative water features flow into the Belvedere Pond. The “wild” western part As mentioned, the western part of Villa Doria Pamphilj is much more natural, and it seems to be in a pleasant and bucolic stretch of Roman countryside. Here, among other things, there are interesting archaeological remains of a Roman necropolis, where two sumptuous tombs from the Augustan age were found, whose evocative frescoes can now be seen at the National Roman Museum. Here you can come for a walk, rest or play sports, but there are, however, some interesting buildings in this part of the villa. For example, the Casale di Giovio, a medieval building built on top of a small hill. Previously, there was a Roman temple on this site. Also in this part of the villa is the so-called “Casino delle Allegrezze”, a place where the Pamphilj family hosted large receptions, as well as the “Gardens of Delights”, where the games and pastimes of the Roman nobility took place. The flora includes fruit trees such as cedars, lemons and oranges, which delightfully scent the air in spring. At the time of the Roman aristocracy, wild animals were introduced to the wildest areas of the park for the hunting of the nobility, such as fallow deer, deer and pheasants. It would seem that even today, in the wildest part of the villa, there is some wildlife that live pleasantly in this green lung of the capital.

Un marchio di eleganza e talento artigianale per calzature e accessori
All’epoca escono dal suo laboratorio venti paia di scarpe al giorno, quasi dei pezzi unici, fino al miti co sandalo piatto, lontano dalle proposte stilistiche di allora ma decisamente vicino al gusto che sta per arrivare. È il 1954 e Mario lancia un sandalo semplicissimo, piatto, nudo, ornato solo da un fiore di corallo trattenuto da due sottilissimi fili di perle e di corallo, il massimo dello chic in un dettaglio minimo ma preziosissimo. Più che una calzatura, uno specchio dei tempi che conquista il mondo. In passerella in occasione dell’Alta Moda a Roma, questo sandalo incanta tutti: pubblico, stampa, compratori ed è tuttora esposto al museo della calzatura Bally di Schönenwerd in Svizzera, accanto alle calzature che la Regina Elisabetta indossava il giorno delle sue nozze. La preziosità di questa calzatura gli porta il primo redazionale su Vogue Francia e permette all’azienda di avere un contratto con I. Miller di New York, l’unica azienda oltreoceano che all’epoca importava scarpe di lusso e le distribuiva negli Stati Uniti. Mario ha per l’arte una passione personale profonda e concepisca la moda come un mondo affine e compenetrabile; numerosi artisti come Andy Warhol, Giò Pomodoro o Robert Rauschenberg hanno apprezzato e condiviso tale concezione. Meglio comunque non esporsi più al sole ed evitare anche le lampade. A questo punto, se si vuole una sfumatura di colore è più opportuno utilizzare un autoabbronzante che applicato sulla pelle levigata dal peeling ha un risultato cosmetico senz’altro migliore. Oppure le terre che regalano un aspetto abbronzato evitando però il fotodanneggiamento. Le creme vitaminiche antiossidanti e le sostanze contenenti acido ialuronico e aminoacidi, costituiscono la base delle proteine con azione restitutiva e idratante.
ABBRONZATURA FOREVER
Beh forse proprio per sempre no, ma l’inverno sarà lungo e per ora ancora lontano. Per prolungare il più possibile gli effetti benefici del sole sulla pelle è d’obbligo che l’abbronzatura sia dorata e uniforme, altrimenti meglio eliminarla. La pelle d’estate si secca moltissimo e si ispessisce. Una pelle curata è già il prima passo per prolungare l’abbronzatura. Gli stessi con cui, nel 1943, deportarono gli ebrei al campo di concentramento San Sabba. Il museo si trova nella piccola stazione di Villarosa che avrebbe dovuto chiudere i battenti e invece è rinata proprio grazie all’idea di un ex ferroviere che oggi gestisce il museo che racconta la storia del treno e del territorio. È consigliabile raggiungere questa località in treno.

A 2.000 metri in Val di Fassa, uno dei luoghi con i panorami più spettacolari del Trentino, c’è un branco di lupi. Finti, per fortuna. Si tratta di un progetto di land art in quota nella conca del Buffaure, che si può raggiungere con un’escursione a piedi partendo da Pozza di Fassa. I cinque lupi giganti, lunghi 6 metri e alti 2, ricoperti da un intreccio di rami recuperati dai boschi locali sono opera di Francesco Franz Avancini e sono la nuova attrazione della valle dolomitica. Ma questo è solo uno dei gli itinerari della valle che conta circa 2.000 km di sentieri all’ombra dei “monti pallidi”.
Il modo migliore di apprezzare la più piccola delle Baleari, un vero gioiello naturale riconosciuto dall’Unesco, è percorrendo il cammino che le gira Minorca non è un’isola come le altre. Qui, all’ambiente, tengono molto. E non solo ora che il tema della sostenibilità è di grande attualità. The cycle and pedestrian path that goes from Spoleto to Norcia, better known as the “little Gotthard of the Apennines”, retraces the old railway of Umbria, crossing some of the most beautiful and historic landscapes and towns in the region. A railway work of art, it was inaugurated in 1926, closed in ‘68 and reopened only in 2014. This itinerary, to be covered on foot or by bicycle, is the soul of a territory that has an immense historicalcultural heritage and nature to discover. The entire journey is an adventure: 23.5 km, with 19 tunnels and 24 bridges and viaducts, from which you can admire the greenery and the wonderful Umbrian nature.

Not only since the topic of sustainability is at the forefront, but thanks to its ecological vocation and the still rather wild landscape it was declared in 1993, by Unesco, a world biosphere reserve. The smallest of the Balearics, the “island of the wind”, is a natural jewel waiting to be discovered. The best way to do it is by following the pathway itinerary that goes all around it which touches some of the most beautiful and famous beaches of Menorca, and goes inland through the S’Albufera des Grau natural park offering panoramic views. It’s a unique route called Camí de Cavalls. Being a circular route, you can start anywhere on the island but kilometer zero is located in the port of Mahón, the capital of Menorca. The path winds through completely different areas of the island which, in the north, are more rocky and inaccessible while, in the south, greener and quieter. You can admire ancient canyons carved by waterways, wide valleys, agricultural areas made of pastures, vineyards and olive groves, but also towns, archaeological sites, watchtowers, lighthouses such as that of Favàritx which appears in the middle of nowhere on an almost lunar soil, or those of Punta Nati and Cap d’Artrutx. For a stop along the way - or even just for those who want to take a beach-only holiday - there are many beaches that can be reached along the Camí de Cavalls. There are about 80 of them in fact. Among them is the famous Arenal d’en Castell in the small town of Es Mercadal, with clear sand and crystal clear sea. Another beautiful beach is Cala Tirant in Fornells. You can see it coming from above dazzled by the emerald waters. To get there, you have to go down a wooden walkway. The golden sand and the dunes that frame it have made it one of the most evocative of Menorca. The transparent seabed and the very thin sand of the Binimel-La beach cannot fail to entice anyone to dive into this corner of paradise. It is an absolutely wild place and for this reason it is also very popular with naturists. To each their own beach, in short, as long as they go on foot.
At 2,000 meters in Val di Fassa, one of the places with the most spectacular views in Trentino, there is a pack of wolves. Fake, fortunately. La provincia italiana ha spesso un’economia legata al vino, che nel tempo ha anche determinato il paesaggio e le Abbiamotradizioni.individuato cinque zone della provincia di Alessandria e il loro vino più identificativo e ci siamo mossi lungo un itinerario che ci ha riservato molte sorprese. Siamo partiti consapevoli che il Piemonte è prima di tutto Barbera, ma è anche Moscato e tutta una gamma di vini che rendono la regione una delle più note in Italia e nel mondo per questa spiccata vocazione. Cosa rende distintive le varie aree produttive della provincia di Alessandria? Cosa si coltiva e vinifica soltanto (o quasi) lì?
Un giro enogastronomico in Piemonte, da Casale Monferrato a Gavi, un modo nuovo e “lento” per godere della natura e assaporare i prodotti delle migliori cantine [Cinzia Montagna] Il territorio della provincia di Alessandria va da Ovada, poco distante dal mare, agli Appennini del Tortonese dove d’inverno si scia, dalla Casale che fu ed è il centro maggiore del Monferrato a Gavi, col suo imponente forte, ad Acqui Terme, con la sua storia antica. Varietà di paesaggi, ma anche di terroir, l’insieme di condizioni microclimatiche e suoli che determinano l’identità di un vino. La parola d’ordine di questo viaggio è enoturismo: l’andar per vini, in modo ragionato, cercando di scoprire i territori nel calice è un turismo nuovo, non sempre coincidente con le mete classiche di vacanza, il mare, il lago e la montagna.
Un vino dai grandi numeri: un consorzio di 190 aziende che producono 13 milioni di bottiglie l’anno, di cui l’85% viene esportato in 100 paesi diversi, per un fatturato di 65 milioni di euro. Il Gavi esiste in quattro tipologie, il Tranquillo, lo Spumante, il Frizzante e il Riserva, tutti ricavati da uva cortese al 100%. Profuma di fiori, di agrumi e di mandorle amare, da abbinare al famoso Raviolo di Gavi ripieno di carne. Anche a Gavi non mancano gli spunti storico letterari, a partire dal nome, legato alla leggenda della fuga d’amore della Principessa Gavia, figlia del Re dei Franchi Clodoveo. Nelle vicinanze, a Serravalle Scrivia, da non perdere la visita allo scavo archeologico dell’antica città romana di Libarna. Magari muovendosi in bicicletta: siamo sulla strada dei grandi pedalatori, dei campionissimi Girardengo e Coppi! Ultima tappa del giro, Tortona. Qui assaggiamo il Derthona, un vino bianco molto particolare, deciso ma anche morbido. Ottenuto da uve Timorasso, vitigno molto coltivato in questa zona sin dall’800, recentemente recuperato. Dalle parti di Tortona c’è Castellania Coppi, il paese di Fausto Coppi, dove si allenava col fratello Serse su e giù per le salite di queste belle colline. E c’è Volpedo, il paese di Pellizza Da Volpedo, autore del Quarto Stato. Il dipinto si trova a Milano, ma in giro per Volpedo sono riprodotti tanti altri quadri di Pellizza, collocati su cavalletti esattamente nei luoghi dove l’artista li dipinse. Una nota gastronomica: da non perdere i Baci di Dama di Tortona e un assaggio di V, formaggio presidio Slow Food dalla forma di torta nuziale, da un’invenzione niente meno che di Leonardo Da Vinci!
Acqui Terme, dove assaggiamo un buon Brachetto di Acqui DOCG. Questo vino ha un colore molto particolare, si direbbe porpora con del rosso rubino, ed esiste leggermente frizzante, passito e anche spumante. Molto dolce, è un vino che alcuni dicono piacere alle donne, ma, al di là del connubio “donne - vino dolce” tutto da verificare, in realtà piace tanto anche agli uomini. A favore di questa narrazione al femminile c’è una leggenda: si narra che Giulio Cesare e Antonio lo portassero in dono a Cleopatra per conquistarla! Quanto alla cittadina, come dice il nome, è un luogo dove si celebra anche l’acqua: ci sono imponenti resti di un acquedotto romano e, in centro, una fonte d’acqua calda che sbuca proprio in piazza e a cui è dedicato un tempietto, La Bollente. Terza tappa Ovada, terra del Dolcetto di Ovada DOCG. Un vino pregiato che ha ottenuto la DOC nel 1972 e la certificazione DOCG nel 2008. A dispetto del nome non è un vino dolce, il suo gusto particolare dipende dal terroir: Ovada si trova in linea d’aria a 25 km dal mare, da cui spira il vento marin, e la sua terra è sia rossa argillosa che bianca calcarea. Il rosso dà corpo e colore al vino, il bianco mineralità e acidità. Affascinante la storia dell’antico monastero cistercense di Santa Maria di Bano sul Monte Colma, a Tagliolo Monferrato, dove nel 2000 sono stati scoperti i resti di un convento femminile rimasti sepolti sotto la terra, rami e foglie per 600 anni! Un convento dimenticato, protetto dal bosco. Dopo di che si arriva a Gavi, dove assaggiamo l’omonimo vino Gavi DOCG.

A food and wine tour in Piedmont, from Casale Monferrato to Gavi, a new and “slow” way to enjoy nature and taste the products of the best wineries
The area of Alessandria province goes from Ovada, close to the sea, to the Tortona Apennines, where you can ski in winter. Then from Casale - Monferrato’s major centre - to Gavi, with its huge fort, and Acqui Terme, with its ancient history. So many landscapes, but also different terroir, the set of microclimatic conditions and soils that determine the identity of a wine. This trip is about enotourism: travelling and tasting wines in a reasoned way, discovering the places “through the glass” as a new kind of tourism, not necessarily in the classic holiday destinations - the sea, the lake and the mountain. The Italian province’s economy is often based on wine making, affecting also the landscape and Wetraditions.chosed five areas in the province of Alessandria and their most identifying wines, following a surprising itinerary. It is known that Piedmont’s main wine is the Barbera, but also the Moscato and a whole range of wines making the region one of the best known in Italy and in the world for this strong vocation. What defines the different production areas around Alessandria? What grape and wine are just from there? First stop of this wine route, Casale Monferrato. Very heart of Monferrato area and land of Grignolino wine! A ruby red wine with orange nuances that could be named after the dialectal term “grignole”, as the seeds in the grapes of the bunches are called. The wine-growing landscapes of the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato were recognized as Unesco Heritage in 2014, some wonderful hills where nature matches with culture, history and traditions. In Casale Monferrato, you have to visit the Paleologi Castle and the civic museum and plaster cast gallery Leonardo Bistolfi. In the nearby, look for the Infernot, some underground rooms dug into the limestone, deeper than the cellars, where is a constant temperature perfect for wine aging. Then Acqui Terme, where we get a taste of Brachetto di Acqui DOCG wine. This wine has special color, some kind of purple with ruby red, and it exists as slightly sparkling, passito and sparkling. Very sweet, some say that women use to like it, but - beyond the match “women - sweet wine” to be verified - apparently men like it too. A legend says that Julius Caesar and Anthony used to offer it as a gift to Cleopatra, to conquer her heart! About the town, it is a place celebrating also water (the name Acqui in Italian means water): there are some impressive remains of a Roman aqueduct and, in the city center, a source of hot water comes out right in the square called “La Bollente” (i.e. the boiling one), with a votive little temple celebrating it.
Third stop, Ovada, the land of Dolcetto di Ovada DOCG A fine wine that gained the DOC label in 1972 and the

121 DOCG one in 2008. In spite of the name (“dolcetto” in Italian means sweet), it is not a sweet wine, its special taste depends on the terroir: Ovada is about 25 km far from the sea, sea wind whipped, and the soil is both red made of clay and white with limestone. The red gives body and color to the wine, the white minerality and acidity. Discover the fascinating history of the ancient Santa Maria di Bano Cistercian Monastery on Mount Colma, in Tagliolo Monferrato, where people found the remains of an ancient female convent in 2000, buried under the earth, branches and leaves for 600 years! A forgotten convent, protected by the woods. Then, we arrive in Gavi, where we taste the homonymous Gavi DOCG wine. A wine with big numbers: a consortium of 190 companies that produce 13 million bottles per year, of which 85% exported to 100 different countries, about 65 million euros. Gavi wine exists in four types: the Tranquillo (i.e. calm), the Spumante, the Frizzante (i.e. sparkling) and the Riserva, all made from 100% Cortese grapes. It smells of flowers, citrus fruits and bitter almonds, matching perfect with the famous Raviolo di Gavi stuffed with meat. Gavi is also a place full of historical and literary cues: starting with the name that refers to the legend of Princess Gavia’s elopement, she was the King of the Franks Clovis’ daughter. Nearby, in Serravalle Scrivia, do not miss a visit to the archaeological site of Libarna, an ancient Roman city. Maybe go by bike: that’s the place where the great Italian cycling champions Girardengo and Coppi used to live and train!
Last stop, Tortona. Here we taste some Derthona wine, a special white wine, which tastes decisive but also soft. Obtained from Timorasso grapes, a vine widely cultivated in this area since the 19th century, recently recovered. Near Tortona, there is Castellania Coppi, the town of Fausto Coppi, where he used to train together with his brother Serse, up and down the slopes of these beautiful hills. And there is Volpedo, the town of Pellizza Da Volpedo, the painter of the Fourth Estate. The original painting is located in Milan, but many other paintings by Pellizza are reproduced all around Volpedo, placed on easels exactly in the places where the artist painted them. A gastronomic tip: do not miss the Baci di Dama di Tortona and a taste of Montebore, a Slow Food cheese in the shape of a wedding cake, from an invention of none other than Leonardo Da Vinci!
