DO NOT FEED THE WILDLIFE

Human activities can attract wildlife seeking food or shelter, leading animals to lose their fear of people, become aggressive, and cause property damage. Feeding wildlife can also pose public safety risks and result in unsanitary conditions. Additionally, human food is unhealthy for wild animals and can spread diseases. To keep the community safe, it is important not to feed the wildlife.

New Youth Center

The City is excited to announce that construction has began on a new two-story 18,400 sq ft Youth Programs Building. This state-of-the-art facility will increase enrollment capacity by nearly 50% to 200 students, improve program space to better accommodate age-appropriate learning and activities, offer enhanced security, expand administrative and clinic facilities for students, and improve drop-off and pick-up operations. The planning and design was completed by Song + Associates, Inc. in 2024 and ground-up construction is being done by Sisca Construction Services, LLC. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on October 23, 2024.

New Emergency Operation Center

The City is in final stages of a bid process to select a highly experienced and qualified contractor, to provide Progressive Design-Build services for the development of a new Emergency Operations Center (EOC). This state-of-the-art facility, rated to withstand Category 5 hurricanes, will house the EOC, space for Public Works and Fire Rescue administrative personnel, training facilities, multi-purpose rooms, and more. This advanced facility will significantly enhance the City’s ability to manage daily operations and respond to emergencies in coordination with Palm Beach County, ensuring the safety and well-being of our growing population and the surrounding communities we serve.

Septic to Sewer

The Greenacres Original Section Septic to Sewer Project is a multimillion-dollar, six-phase infrastructure initiative to replace septic systems with a sewer system in an area between 10th Ave. North and Lake Worth Road, and from Jackson Ave. East to Fleming Ave. West. Phase 1 North finished in May 2024, Phase 2 North will be done by February 2025, and Phase 3 North starts in mid-2025. Once complete, the system will be managed by PBC Water Utilities, and all residents and businesses will be required to connect within a designated timeframe from completion.

Roadway Overlay

The Public Works Department maintains approximately 50 lane miles of City roads. Each year, a matrix is used to determine which streets need striping, markings, and resurfacing based on estimated roadway lifespan and usage. This year, Pine Ave., Piney Court and Woodwind Court are selected for resurfacing. In addition to municipal roads, the City has state and county roads. Event Sponsorship Opportunities

Your support helps sustain a vibrant, healthy, and active community!

Each year, the City of Greenacres hosts a variety of events that appeal to all ages, attracting between 1,000 and 8,000 attendees. Thanks to the continued generosity of our sponsors, we are able to offer athletic programs for youth and special events for the entire community. To keep enhancing these valuable services, we invite you to become a sponsor.

In return, your company name and logo will be prominently displayed at City events, in publications, on flyers, and more. Your sponsorship plays a key role in making these programs possible. For more details on sponsorship contributions and benefits, please contact the Community & Recreation Services Department at 561-642-2196. The City of Greenacres gratefully acknowledges and appreciates the ongoing support of our sponsors throughout the year!
