Hospice News Sandbanks Ferry have very kindly donated a book of ferry passes to our community palliative care nurse Josie (left), who covers the Isle of Purbeck. The ferry company chose Forest Holme as its Charity of the Year and made the lovely goodwill gesture to make Josie's commute easier, as she usually has to drive the long way round.
Meet our two latest members of staff (right) at the hospice - Ken, who is training to be a GP and Tom , who has just started as our new Speciality Doctor in Palliative Care.
We were very sad to say goodbye to Rev Fraser Smith (left), from the chaplaincy team at Poole Hospital, who has left to start a new chapter in his life with his wife in Germany. Fraser led our annual Light Up a Life event for many years and we wish him well on his new adventure. It was lovely to welcome Joint Chief Executive, Debbie Fleming (right), of Poole and Bournemouth Hospitals to Forest Holme in July to help recognise the effort Forest Holme teams have made to continue their hospice services during Covid-19. Debbie met with lots of members of staff, but spent a considerable amount of time listening to the experience of the Community Specialist Palliative Care team who were faced with many challenges trying to provide the best care they could for patients, and their families, in their own homes since March. 14
