New “A Night at the Movies” Musical, Gr 4-6 Joan Brauen, Cindy Stay IT’S SHOWTIME! Join us for the FIS Mini-Musical. We will prepare to sing and dance to hits from famous movies like Mary Poppins, Muppet Movie and Despicable Me 2. We’ll perform them on stage for friends and family. Meet in the FIS choir room. Tae Kwon Do with M Evolution Tae Kwon Do Lil’ Kickers Tae Kwon Do, Age 4-6 This program is designed as a precursor to Tae Kwon Do classes for young children. The material is presented in fun and exciting formats to keep the child interested and excited while teaching them important physical and behavioral skills to develop good habits early in life.

Youth Tae Kwon Do - Beg/Int, Age 7+

New Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s School of Fish, Gr 3 & Up School of Fish is a 2 1/2-hour kids fishing class open to kids (and adults!) and is taught by pro angler and fishing TV show host Mike Frisch. Students learn about lakes, finding fish in those lakes, and some great ways to catch them. They also learn to tie a fishing knot and rig and use a slip-bobber setup.

Participants will get: a rod & reel, $10 Bass Pro Shops gift card, tackle box and tackle, School of Fish full color workbook, snack pack, one adult is invited to attend with a child at no additional charge, provided they share an equipment packet.

New FAST: Falcon Aquatic Swim Team, Gr 4-11 Tyler Malotky & Emma Thorsten

New Falcon Junior Pep Squad, Spring, Gr 4-6 Stacey Kalway

This swim program is for girls and boys who are able to swim one full length of the pool using the front crawl stroke with breathing. This is an excellent opportunity to be introduced to the world of competitive swimming. There will be two swim meets that athletes will compete in during this session.

There will be training groups for each level, ability and age.

Coach Tyler is a former Sartell boy’s swim coach. He also swam competitively for Prior Lake. Coach Emma is a State Swimming qualifier and a Foley Falcons swim coach. Class Fee: $100/2 days per week or $130/3 days per week.

We got spirit yes we do, we got spirit how ‘bout you? Join the new Falcon Pep Squad and show your school spirit. This squad will meet to learn new chants and cheers, make signs and posters, and assist with a variety of seasonal sports activities.

Both boys and girls are invited. Pep squad teams will be allowed free entrance to all sports events that the pep squad performs at. What a great way to support our Falcon teams! Times and dates of remaining scheduled practices and sport events will be handed out at the first meeting. The Bounce Back Project of Foley will provide a snack and drink at each opening session and share lessons of resilience with the squad each practice while promoting health through happiness! Girls Youth Fastpitch League

This activity is co-sponsored by the Foley Softball Coaching Staff and Community Education and will be a combination of practices and games. Babysitter Training, Ages 11+ Emergency Outfitters

ZAPS Test Prep, Gr 10-12

This course follows the American Academy of Pediatrics Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training (BLAST). Students will learn current practices for safety and injury prevention, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants, how to handle behavior problems and how to manage their babysitting business.

Students will receive a reference book, recipe and game handouts, babysitting bag and first-aid kit. Please bring a water bottle and snacks. Class Fee: $65 Mon-Wed • Feb 24-26 • 3:00-5:30pm • FIS Media Center

In this five-hour seminar is designed to coach high school students to do their best on the ACT test. Your student will get to: • Learn tips to improve scores in all subtests • Practice strategies to eliminate wrong choices • Take short practice tests that mirror the real test experience • Reduce test anxiety and gain confidence • Receive extensive materials for home practice. Our strategyintensive seminar is the perfect companion to contentbased test preparation materials your student may be utilizing. F.A.S.T. Kids, Ages 7-10 Emergency Outfitters

FAST Kids (First-Aid and Safety Trained Kids) is a 6-hour course.

Lessons cover basic first-aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, personal safety and healthy living. This course helps prepare children for staying at home alone. Students will receive a book and construct a home firstaid kit. Please pack a snack. Class Fee: $49 Wed-Thu • Apr 8-9 • 3:00-6:00pm • FES Room 117

Classroom Driver Education, Ages 15+ A-Z Drivers Instruction This course, sponsored by Community Education and A-Z Drivers Instruction from Foley MN, provides 30 hours of classroom drivers training. The course meets the requirements to obtain a driving permit. Students must be 15 in order to take the permit test. We encourage taking this class as close when a student will take the permit test as possible. Attendance at all 30 hours of the class is required. Adults wishing to get a driving permit are welcome to take this class also. Behind the Wheel instruction can be contracted on an individual basis with A-Z Drivers Instruction. The $20 Community Education fee is due with registration. The $130 fee is due to A-Z Drivers Instruction the first day of class. Firearms Safety Training, Foley Community Education with the assistance of several DNR trained volunteer firearm safety instructors will provide firearm safety training this spring. The class will be a combination of classroom and field experience covering the safe operation and functioning of firearms as required by the MN DNR. PARENT NOTES: Students taking this course can be 11 years old but must turn 12 by Dec. 31, 2020. If an 11 year old takes the class and passes the test, the state DNR office will hold their card until they turn 12. Please do not allow your child to bring a gun to class or the field test. All firearms will be provided.

Attendance at all class sessions and good behavior is expected of all participants in order to pass the course. There is a lot of reading homework for this class that you will need to assist your child with. Students must pass a State DNR written test in order to take the field test. Both tests must be passed in order to complete the course and receive certification. Testing times and maps to the range will be distributed in class. A parent or legal guardian MUST attend the first session to complete registration paperwork for their minor child. Please use door I-21 to enter/exit the school. Class Fee: $7.50 Community Ed Fee +$7.50 DNR fee once class is completed. *The DNR now requires a $7.50 fee paid online after course completion to obtain certificate.

Open Swim

Swim, float and splash in the Foley High School pool.

Lifeguards will be on duty for you to enjoy the water. No flotation devices. Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring your own towel. Class Fee: $4 for adults, $2 for students, $7 per family on Sundays.

Level I: Intro to Water Skills

Students will learn to feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely. Suggested minimum age 4. Class size: 6 maximum.

Level II: Fundamental Aquatic Skills

Students explore simultaneous and alternating arm and leg motions on the front and back to lay the foundation for futures strokes. Adds to skills begun in Level I. Student must have passed Level I.

Level III: Stroke Development

Students will learn to coordinate the front and back crawl, elements of the butterfly, treading water and rules for headfirst entries. Build on the skills of Level II with guided practice.

Student must have passed Level II.

Level IV: Stroke Improvement

Students will improve their skills and increase their endurance by swimming familiar strokes for greater distances. Continue to build the butterfly strokes and be introduced to the breaststroke, elementary backstroke, elements of the sidestroke and basic turns. Student must have passed Level III.

Level V: Stroke Refinement

Students continue to refine all the strokes: front and back crawl, butterfly, breaststroke and sidestroke. Students will increase their distance and be introduced to flip turns. Student must have passed Level IV.

Private Swimming Lessons, All Ages Get one-on-one instruction! The instructor will work with you to develop and achieve goals that will have you swimming like a fish. Enjoy four, 45-minute sessions.
