FREE Summer Breakfast/Lunch Feeding Program- Thank you Cheryl Pick and the Food Serve Staff for your hard work for the Summer Feeding Program! For the 4th summer we will be offering FREE breakfast and lunch for individuals ages 1 to 18 starting June 3rd and ending August 20th.

Adults can eat at cost of $4. Breakfast will be served from 7:00-8:30am and lunch from 11:00am-12:30pm in the FIS Cafeteria. Please enter door #21.

4-H Summer Day Camps-I am excited to team up with Benton County 4-H again this summer. At the day camps students will be served FREE breakfast and lunch with our Summer Lunch Feeding Program.

Swimming Lessons-The City of Foley will be providing their annual group swim lessons. You will be able to see the full schedule of classes on the city web page at www.ci.foley. mn.us If you have any class suggestion or would like to teach a class please let us know!

Let’s Veggie Out!, Parent/Child Ages 5 & Up

Let’s cook and learn! In this course, we will be learning about various vegetables and their health properties all while preparing our own meal. This parent/child cooking class will focus on preparing a meal centered on a specific vegetable each month. Come as a pair and cook, learn, and eat! Kids Bath Bomb Making, Gr 3-8 Amy Gunderson

Want to learn how to make your own bath bombs?

They are great for all skin types with ingredients such as Epsom salt, baking soda, and lavender that will help remove toxins, reduce muscle tension, and improve blood circulation. 4H Day Camps Grades K-6 CSI Detective Day Camp Ever wondered how police officers and detectives work a crime scene? Meet local police officers and detectives to see how they dust for prints, lift foot prints and find clues.

Learn about coding, secret ink, blue lights, and break out of a room by solving clues. You will also get to ask questions about online gaming/social media risks and steps to remain safe (for grades 4-6th). A full day to be detectives!

Eggstravaganza Day Camp Can you walk on eggs? Have you ever BOUNCED an egg?

Are chickens mean? How do you raise chickens? You will get to try and answer all of these questions and more! We will have live chickens for you to meet and experts on hand to tell you all about them. You will do some crazy experiments with eggs that your parents won’t let you do at home. You will even get a chance to enjoy eating eggs and experiencing different ways to prepare them.

Seed to Harvest Day Camp Plant a seed plus get a starter plant to take home and learn about how they will grow to harvest. You will do experiments with different seeds and vegetables. Some will make some serious messes! You will even create a masterpiece of art using seeds that you can exhibit at the county fair. We will get a chance to investigate what happens at harvest and create things that represent the Halloween Harvest from pumpkins to skulls!

Get Creative & Messy Day Camp Do you like to get messy while getting crafty? Come and learn about different kinds of crafts that you may have never heard about and find out what your “knack” is. You can even create an exhibit you can have judged at the Benton County Fair! We will also have some messy games, weird snacks and unusual experiments!

Discover different and exciting topics this summer through experiments, projects, crafts and some guaranteed messy fun, all while making new friends. Please drop off and pick up at the Foley Elementary School. 4-H membership is not required. You must preregister three days prior to the event. Class Fee: $15 per person/per class Clothing 4-H Camp, Gr 3-9 Do you want to learn how to sew? Maybe you already know a little bit about sewing. Come experience a day of learning different skills with a sewing machine as well as a simple needle and thread. You will have a chance to learn from experienced 4-H adult volunteers and youth. You will be creating some simple projects that you can take home with you. Call the Benton County Extension Office for additional details. 4-H Project Showcase & Performing Arts Evening, All Ages Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a 4-H’er? What it involves? What you would get to do at the Benton County Fair?

Come to this 4-H Project Showcase & Performing Arts evening.

You will get a chance to see projects first hand, hear from 4-H’ers and their experiences with 4-H. You will get to meet lots of animals that the 4-H’ers bring like goats, horses, rabbits, chickens, dogs, pigs, baby doll sheep & more! Come enjoy watching the youth that are getting judged on their performing arts acts. There will be a guided tour around 5pm for those interested and pizza served around 6:30pm. Fun for the whole family! Plan to stop by. FREE Class!

Computer Explorers

With the LEGO WeDo Robotics System, students will build and learn to code their robotic creations. Designed by the experts at M.I.T., this unique system teaches children about simple machines, engineering, programming and more. Students working in teams will program and modify robotic models using Lego’s intuitive drag-and-drop interface. After building models, students will be walked through coding exercises, and then challenge to improve the WeDo code. Please bring a drink and snack daily. Game Coding: Platformer, Gr 4-8

Java Minecraft Modding: Infinity Gauntlet, Gr 3-8 NEW

Computer Explorers

Learn and use elements of Java coding to create Minecraft mods. Alter the world around you with the real stone, defeat the ender dragon with the power stone, and halve the universe using all six infinity stones. Shape the world to your will and make the universe “perfectly balanced”. Use the Java programming language to create Thanos armor and a working infinity gauntlet. Students should be comfortable with keyboarding and, of course, playing Minecraft! At the end of class, take home your mods to share with family and friends.

Computer Explorers

Create an arcade-style, side-scrolling platformer! You will learn to create a web-based platformer using Construct 2, a visual coding platform that teaches students the basics and structure of programming. Virtual Reality Experience, Ages 7 & Up

Check out the new and exciting world of Virtual Reality!

This event will include a wide variety of virtual reality systems ranging from a $15 Google Cardboard which works with your cell phone to display simple virtual experiences, all the way up to a powerful, $2,000 Oculus Rift system which brings visually stunning and immersive worlds to life, and everything in between!

Better yet, bring the family along and watch each other’s stunned reactions and amazement with each new virtual encounter. There will also be a tennis ball shooting, remote control robot for you or the kids to drive while you’re not wearing or watching the virtual reality systems! Intro to Coding with Super Heroes, Gr 1-3 Computer Explorers

Love video games? Create YOUR OWN VIDEO GAME! Students as young as five years old can create their own platform video games in this cool class! Choose your storyline with favorite superheroes as your stars; add challenges and levels of difficulty, then share by email or post on the web to challenge family and friends. Now young students can practice math, logic, and programming and put their video game talents to work! The game will be in an animated Flash format, viewable in most internet browsers. Classroom Driver Education, Ages 15+

Lego WeDo Mini-Bots, Gr 1-3 Timm Smith

Students work at their own pace, alone or in teams, to learn simple engineering and science concepts through the use of LEGO robotic kits and computer software. Flexible curriculum allows students to take this class multiple times and still have new experiences. Both girls and boys will enjoy this introductory class. Lego Robotics Engineering, Gr 4-5 Timm Smith

Use LEGO Mindstorm and EV3 robotic systems to compete in real world challenges like an obstacle course, timed challenge, sumo wrestling and more. We will build the base model and then the students will modify and program the robots to compete in the challenges. We will program “smarter” robots to move, act, think and use advanced programming that allows the robots to react to sensory input such as touch and light sensors. VEX Robotics Independent Inventors, Gr 6-8 Timm Smith

Students work at their own pace, alone or in teams, to learn robotics engineering and science concepts through the use of a variety of LEGO VEX robotic kits and computer software.

Flexible curriculum allows students to take this class multiple times and still have new experiences, while advancing their skills. This course is designed especially for students who have had at least 2 previous class experiences and want to get creative and build unique robotic devices with multiple kits.

Mike Anson This course, sponsored by Community Education and A - Z Drivers Instruction from Foley MN, provides 30 hours of classroom drivers training. The course meets the requirements to obtain a driving permit. Students must be 15 in order to take the permit test. Attendance at all 30 hours of the class is required. Behind the Wheel instruction can be contracted on an individual basis with A - Z Drivers Instruction. The $20 Community Education fee is due with registration. Babysitter Training, Age 11+ Emergency Outfitters

This course follows the American Academy of PediatricsBabysitter Lessons and Safety Training (BLAST). Students will learn current practices for safety and injury prevention, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants, how to handle behavior problems and how to manage their babysitting business.

Students will receive a reference book, recipe and game handouts, babysitting bag and first aid kit. Please bring snacks and water. Class Fee: $54 Tue • Jun 4 • 8:30am-4:00pm • FIS Media Center

F.A.S.T. Kids, Ages 7-10 Emergency Outfitters

First Aid and Safety Trained Kids is a 6-hour course. Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, personal safety and healthy living. This course helps prepare children for staying at home alone. Students will receive a book and construct a home first aid kit as part of the class. Participants will be served lunch.

Foley Bike Safety Rodeo, Ages 10 & Under The Foley Police Department, in partnership with Community Education and other local organizations, is hosting the annual Bike Safety Rodeo! Come learn how to be safe when riding your bicycle. Ride your bicycle through the obstacle course. Have your bicycle inspected and get your helmet properly fitted. Enjoy some lunch afterwards and sign-up for a chance to win prizes donated by many of the local businesses and organizations. This is a come and go type event. Parents are encouraged to accompany their children.

Snow White, Ages 7+

Prairie Fire Children’s Theater Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre’s presents original musical production of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” Snow White is saved by the Prince, but not with a kiss! There is a great deal of music, including production numbers featuring The Townspeople and a lot of movement highlighted by the Queen’s Spellbinders and the Forest Creatures. Up to 73 youth are needed to play the roles. Tickets for performances will be available for $4 for adults, $2 for senior citizens and students, and free for preschoolers. They will be available for purchase at the door a half hour before the performance begins. Class Fee: $50 Auditions: Monday, July 15, 12-2pm, rehearsal 2-4:15pm The Monday auditions are open to anyone age 7 and over. The audition process takes place in the FHS Auditorium and lasts for two hours. All participants are required to be in attendance the entire time. The cast will be announced at the end of auditions.

These lessons are for you if you are going to be joining band as a fifth grader, are completely new to band as a sixth through eighth grader, or you feel you need a basic refresher on your instrument. Students will get a head start on assembly and care of their instruments, along with learning the first few notes. Students will need to supply their own instrument for these lessons, unless previously arranged with Ms. Darling.

Bam Bam Ball, Ages 3-4 This program is fun and teaches some initial baseball skills.

Children bat off a “T” and use a fat plastic bat and soft Incrediball. All children will have the opportunity to play the field and bat. Players should bring glove, cap and water bottle to all practices. Each player will receive a t-shirt. Please no sandals or flip flops. Dawn Opheim Lil’ Kickers Tae Kwon Do, Age 4-6 This program is designed as a precursor to regular Tae Kwon Do classes for young children. We help build a foundation for Tae Kwon Do training, while improving motor skills, memory, discipline, confidence and more. The material is presented in fun and exciting formats. Youth Tae Kwon Do - Beg/Int, Age 7+ Kids who can control their bodies can control their minds.

Boys and girls can learn beginning football skills in our flag football program. This activity will introduce basic football skills through drills and fun games. Participants should meet by door I-6 of the fieldhouse to use the practice field north of FIS. In the event of rain, activities will be moved into the fieldhouse.

SNAG -Starting New At Golf- is a creative way to introduce new players to the game of golf. The program is designed specifically for total newcomers: kids of all ages who have had very little or no exposure to golf. SNAG uses special equipment, all provided by the instructor, to teach the fundamentals of golf. Class is restricted to 16 participants. Each session introduces new instructional tools and practices, as well as rules of playing and etiquette. Our goal at Foley High School is to develop each student-athlete in a comprehensive, year-round, strength and conditioning program, in order to help him/her reach their greatest potential mentally and physically. Foley High School’s state of the art facility allows the best specialized instruction available. We will use the PLT4M training program to develop the total athlete.

Why Train at Foley High School?

Training at Foley High School provides you and your peers with an excellent opportunity to train with teammates. The Falcon Power staff ensures proper technique and instruction in all phases of training. Our training will include the weight room and speed development in the field house. How hard you work will be determined by how hard you and your teammates wish to go!

Football Skills & Drills Development Camp, Gr 5-6 Football Coaching Staff Drills will challenge the athletes. Games will be used to perfect football skills. Come dressed for activity! Bunker Beach Water Park Enjoy a day at Minnesota’s largest outdoor water park-Bunker Beach in Andover! Ride the waves in the wave pool, take a dip in the pool, relax on the lazy river, zoom down the waterslides (must be 48” tall to ride waterslides) and play in the sand box.

The Fitness Center features of aerobic equipment, nautilus machines, (great for a total body workout), cross trainers, treadmills, stair stepper stationary bikes (recumbent bike), rowers, dumb bells from 5 to 100 lbs and highly functional power racks. All these machines are ready for your use.

Students in grades 6 and under require direct supervision at each station by a parent or guardian. The Fitness Center is located above the boys and girls locker rooms in the Intermediate School. It can be accessed through the north doorway of the fieldhouse, by a stairway inside the south lobby by door #I-15.
