PUBLIC SAFETY CADETS ADAPT AND OVERCOME The Fairfax County Police Department’s Public Safety Cadet Program adapted to the challenges faced in 2020 and continue to safely educate and mentor cadets.
The three Public Safety Cadet Units have continued to
hold virtual training for cadets to learn about a variety of law enforcement related topics. Transitioning to a virtual
platform has allowed for the continuance of meetings to take place twice a month, educating and preparing our
young community members of Fairfax County for their future careers.
The program held its first virtual recruiting event in October
and welcomed a recruit class of 35 new Public Safety Cadets in 2020.
