COMMUNITIES OF TRUST COMMITTEE

The Fairfax County Communities of Trust Committee (COTC) was established in December 2014, to help build and enhance positive relationships between public safety agencies and the communities they serve. Its diverse membership, which is open to anyone who supports its mission, includes over 60 public safety agencies, community members, faith groups, businesses and civic organizations. During the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic, COTC sponsored the “Help from the Heart” campaign collecting and donating thousands of pounds of personal hygiene items and food to community food pantries. COTC organized and partnered with community members and organizations making cloth face masks, resulting in over 10,000 masks made and donated to hospitals, schools, health departments, and other non-profit organizations. COTC works with other jurisdictions to expand its model and to bring new programs into marginalized communities while working with at risk kids.
