The Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy (FCCJA) ensures the department maintains the highest standards of training by monitoring policy and legislative changes. With the impact of COVID-19, the FCCJA quickly adapted to ensure all safety guidelines were followed while making sure all officers could continue to train.
One way the FCCJA was able to continue training during the pandemic was the launch of Police One Academy online training. This platform provided the department with the opportunity to create original training content catered to the needs of its officers. By the end of the year, officers had completed 7,641 courses and the FCCJA produced seven original training videos.
