esterday, Clube da Rhodia held a memorable costume party full of energy: “Which decade do you belong to?”. The flashing lights showed the smile on everybody’s faces. All delegates and staff members were celebrating together the many fashionable and musical trends left from the past decades. Polka dots, leather jackets, funky music, shiny sequins and hippie skirts dominated the spirit of the night. There was even a surprise performance for the guests which involved “I hope someday you will join us, and the world will be as one” jams from the ‘70s to the ‘00s, including the Backstreet Boys, the vaudeville dance and Gloria Gaynor, to list a few. The highlight was the drag show in which three members of FAMUN’s team danced to “I will survive”, dressed up as divas of pop while the audience went crazy cheering them on. There was a sudden explosion of happiness, and from then on, the Drag Queen Luiz #sucesso crowd danced until the party was over.

Which country fits you most?

n this Saturday morning, the delegates walked through Campinas’ downtown area in an intriguing challenge proposed by Professor Renato Brolezzi: to see the city beyond a space of passage, deciphering the signs of its history that had become imperceptible due to the frenetic scene of urban life. Since the early days of their formation, the cities were closely tied to the idea of civilization and culture, a place where social relations are intensified. However, as pointed by the professor and clearly seen during the walk, the beauty of the city loses place to what is useful; and idleness, “Legen-wait for it-dary” an essential element to the construction of people and their relationships, is not tolerated. Besides visiting monuments of personalities that contributed to Campinas’ formation, such as Cesar Berrenbach and Carlos Gomes, the students visited two churches in the central region. One of them was Nossa Senhora da Conceição. The atmosphere of the church, contrasting with the outer restlessness, as well as the meticulous mix of baroque and neoclassical architecture, stirred everyone’s senses. Thus, opposing to current trends, the participants were led not only to behave like pieces of a chaotic and impersonal setting, but as active and thoughtful participants of the history and the society.

SLD By Leonardo Farias The B-52’s cull from USA flying in ADIZ; the public mutual defense pact among Philippines, Korea and Vietnam; and the public partnership between USA and Korea confirm that things are warming up. The future of the negotiations depends on the attitude that the Ministers will take in relation to these situations. However, the Summit has faced many obstacles, such as the Ministers’ immobility and the over-focus on ILO weapons’ business. AMUN is causing very good impressions on the delegates from many universities and schools. Carolina Condé took part of the last edition and affirmed that the current one has corresponded to all her expectations. According to her, the organization is the main characteristic of the event. Júlia Rosa, from UFRGS, enjoyed FAMUN 2014 and exalted the event’s dynamic, once she could practice many things she has studied. Júlia appreciated the FAMUN’s environment, characterized by the constant interaction and intimacy. We also counted on the presence of many Law students, such as Camila Ramos from UFMG. She praised the event’s infrastructure and space. She also said that is evident FACAMP’s support to the realization of this event.
