Silver Honoree Courtney M. Williams was initiated into the Lambda Xi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated® at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater in Spring 1998. She is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a graduate of UW-Whitewater and Cardinal Stritch University with a master’s in Business Management. She transferred to the Omicron Mu Omega chapter upon her relocation to Dallas, Texas in 2010.

Ms. Williams served as the president of her undergraduate chapter and as the Invitations and Ads committee chair for the Annual Debutante Cotillion, which is the largest fundraising event of the year for the Epsilon Kappa Omega chapter in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After transferring to the Omicron Mu Omega chapter, she served on the Community Impact (Committee Chair) and Chapter Retreat (Committee Chair) and participated in numerous projects and events. She also served as a member of the winning Step Team at both the local step-show as well as the Regional Conference.

Ms. Williams is a finance, accounting, and business operations professional. She has worked for Parkland Hospital for the last 9 years serving in several roles including: Financial Analyst, Sr. Project Manager, Operations Manager, and Interim Director.

She also started her own nonprofit organization in 2013, Brunching Butterflies, which has the mission of “helping people help themselves, one family at a time” through financial and in-kind donations. In addition to the nonprofit, Ms. Williams also started the inspirational apparel line and brand, Who Knew God Knew in 2017 which continues to expand and was also worn by Erica Campbell of Mary Mary on her reality show with her family, The Campbell’s! Her other outside volunteer activities include Junior League of Dallas, Community Engagement Committee for Our Friends Place, and the 2016 class of Leadership Southwest to name a few.

Ms. Williams currently lives in Lewisville, Texas. Most of her family still reside in Wisconsin, including her parents, siblings, and grandparents, where she visits often. Family has always been the backbone of her world and their support personally and professionally continues to drive her motivation to excel at all she does.
