Karen Stills
Silver Honoree Karen Stills was initiated into the Eta Eta chapter of Alpha Incorporated® at the University of New Orleans in Fall 1998, where she ser of Shreveport, Louisiana, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Mana New Orleans, a master’s degree in Business Administration from Amberton University, and a doctorate from San Diego State University’s Community College Leadership program.
Dr. Stills transferred into the Omicron Mu Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® in 2015 and has actively served on numerous committees including the Cachet Youth Group, History and Awards, and Community Impact. With more than 20 years of higher education experience, she is an equityminded leader whose career is dedicated to illuminating education as a vehicle for hope and opportunity to the communities she serves.

Dr. Stills currently serves as the inaugural Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success at Dallas College (formerly Dallas County Community College District), providing leadership for success coaching/academic advising, career and transfer services, student success professional development, virtual services, and strategic initiatives focusing on student persistence, completion, and transfer. Prior to serving in this role, Dr. Stills served in a number of leadership roles at El Centro College including Vice President of Student Services, Dean of Educational Partnerships, and Dean of Student Support, Grants and Special Programs. Dr. Stills is a board member for the National Council on Black American Affairs, an organization committed to advocacy and support for the success of African American students, faculty, and administrators in higher education.
Dr. Stills is blessed to enjoy her life’s journey with Honey-Do Yannick Djomo; four beautiful children Jordan, Landon, Jay, and Yannick; and one spunky granddaughter, Zhuri.
