Silver Honoree Kyla N. Ms. Duncan holds degrees from the University of Tulsa Sturm College of Law (JD), and Dallas Baptist Universit afforded the opportunity to study abroad, sitting in on i which allowed her to gain knowledge and insight whils the world. She served as a Student Attorney with the leg various community-based organizations and served wit licensed attorney in Colorado and Texas and has handled matters on the state and federal levels. Currently Ms. Duncan is In-House Counsel at a FinTech Corporation.
Ms. Duncan is aunty extraordinaire to four nieces and a nephew. One niece, Toryia, a member of the Cachet Youth Group, lives with her and Ms. Duncan is her biggest cheerleader. Ms. Duncan tries to instill the importance of advocacy for others, volunteerism in our community and self-care. Ms. Duncan is active in the Omicron Mu Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, holding various committee and officer positions. She is an advocate for abused and neglected children and serves on the State Bar of Texas – Child Protection Law Section: Multiculturalism Committee which advocates for equality and fairness for children who are in hard places.
As Ms. Duncan reflects on her 25 years in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, she understands why her sister was passionate about choosing AKA. Ms. Duncan believes there is no other organization like our beloved AKA. We pave the way and continue to set the bar high for those that follow. We are a community of women who encourage, assist, and serve all who are in need. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, has helped shape the woman I am today, and it continues to push me to be the best version of myself, for which I am grateful.
