OUR MISSION All Saints Episcopal School is a community of excellence, based on Christian values, preparing students to serve and transform the world.
Father in heaven, whose son Jesus Christ took children into His arms and blessed them; Bless, we pray, the students of All Saints School. Grant that we may grow up reverently in your love; Give us day by day strength and guidance; So that we may continue in your love and service until our lives end.
Grant this, for Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen.
For the myriad of ways the Board supported our school this past year - serving on committees, guest speaking at ceremonies, observing in classrooms, volunteering at the Viking table at various Beaumont community events, and planning for the future of All Saints - we thank you for your service!
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
ANATOLE FRANCE
Our Head of School & President, Board of Trustees Message
In the year 2023-2024, we witnessed our All Saints family come together in profoundly meaningful ways to accomplish amazing goals. We dreamed. We acted. We planned. And, we continued to believe in the Mission of our school and in the greatness still to come. As your Head of School and President of the Board of Trustees, we celebrate our achievements and we are humbled by the hard work, dedication and contributions that inspired us this past year. Because of this incredible collaboration that makes up our school family - Board members, faculty and staff, students, parents, grandparents, volunteers, and friends of All Saints - we can reflect on the 2023-2024 school year with immense pride and gratitude!
Some of what we witnessed in 2023-2024:
1. Renovation of the interior of the Middle School building
2. Hiring a consultant to usher us through the process of exploration and discernment to establish a living, breathing strategic plan that will guide our actions and decisions through the year 2029
3. Dedication to participating in the life of our school through volunteer efforts and generous financial contributions which perpetually advance the mission of All Saints
4. Living out what it means to be a school family: socializing with one another, celebrating our joys, and comforting one another during challenging times.
We are overwhelmed by your unbelievable commitment to voice your opinion, respond to surveys, join focus groups, engage in honest dialogue, acknowledge areas in need of improvement - all in the name of continuing the path toward excellence in every area of our campus.
As you explore the highlights from the past year, please know how much we appreciate the trust you place in us by choosing All Saints for your precious children and to be your school family!

The 2023-2024 Auxiliary Program, once again was able to meet the before school, after school, and year-round needs of our families, profoundly impacting the value proposition offered to our students, improving the quality of life for our families, and uniquely differentiating the All Saints experience from that of any other school in our area.
Entering the second year of our completely rebranded initiative, the Auxiliary Program included Early Morning Saints (before school care), CLUB All Saints (extended day and after school care), Enrichment 360 (after school enrichment classes), Thanksgiving 360 and Christmas 360 (holiday care), and Summer 360 (summer camps and summer child care).
With 38 countries of students represented on our campus, attending All Saints Episcopal School might be the most international experience a person can have in Beaumont, Texas! It certainly is the most celebrated as our school continued the tradition of embracing our culture diversity in significant and meaningful ways for the 5th year in a row. Every area of our school joined in the endeavor to honor, encourage, and experience the things that make us unique while marveling at the things we have in common. A few of the ways we celebrated...
• Daily chapel incorporating music and worship from around the world; special guest speakers
• Hot lunch items offered for purchase representing each continent
• A cultural Free Dress Day
• Music, Art, Spanish, Library, and SmartLab classes focused on global contributions, accomplishments, and innovations
• P.E. classes dedicated to Cricket instruction provided by official Cricket players from Lamar University, as well as Badminton lessons
• Assembly for students and families featuring International performances (see QR codes)
• Country specific presentations provided by our very own families
The All Saints Vikings proudly celebrated another successful year of growth, achievement, and good sportsmanship, while providing opportunities for our spirited spectators to cheer for their favorite team!
VOLLEYBALL The “B” team finished out the year strong winning 3 of their last 5 games. They showed a lot of growth and improvement from when they started the season. The “A” team also won 3 of their last 5 games to finish with a season record of 14 wins and 5 losses. They were league champions with a league record of 9 wins and 1 loss.
CROSSCOUNTRY Our cross country team competed in 5 meets for the season. We had 9 different individuals earn a medal this season combining for 23 total medals, and our boys team placed first in the three of the 5 meets.
SOCCER The soccer team battled through some injuries towards the end of the year, but ended up winning 2 out of their last 3 games. They finished with a league record of 5 wins and 3 losses which placed them in second for the season.
GIRLS BASKETBALL It was fun to watch our “B” team progress throughout the year. They finished the season winning three out of their last four games to finish with a record of 5 wins and 3 losses. The “A” team finished with an overall record of 14 wins and 4 losses (11 wins, 1 loss in league play) and secured the league championship.
BOYS BASKETBALL The “A” team was young with five of our nine players being 7th graders. They ended the season with a league record of 4 wins and 4 losses which placed them third in our league. The “B” team grew exponentially from the beginning of the season. They finished the season with a league record of 6 wins and 2 losses which placed them in second place.
SOFTBALL What an amazing season our softball team had! Playing with the bare minimum number of players the entire season, each girl had to step up and deliver when they were called upon and they did. For the first time since 2009, our softball team finished with an undefeated season.
TENNIS Our tennis team played in 5 tournaments. We had 7 different individuals place in those tournaments. The team placed 1st in both singles and doubles in four out of the five tournaments.
GOLF The golf team played in 5 tournaments. We had 6 different golfers bring home individual medals, combining for 19 medals total. At least one golfer placed in the top 3 of each tournament.

All Saints has a long tradition of holding fast to Paul Hannen’s sentiment of the necessity of providing and maintaining the most modern and versatile facilities for our students. The middle school, built in 1996, was due for an update and renovation to keep it on par with the rest of the campus. This project was part of our five year strategic plan and was completed during the summer of 2023.
In planning for the update, we took time to evaluate the space in which our students learn, considering both current educational needs and future opportunities. The building itself was in excellent condition. At All Saints, we approach learning and projects with the same lens of understanding the “why” before the “how”. It was essential to first explore the reasons for the renovation, ensuring that every decision made contributed meaningfully to our overarching goals: enhancing the educational experience, supporting our teaching staff, and preparing our students for the future.
One of the key determining factors was the need for the classrooms to be versatile and flexible, in order to create an environment that supported 21st century learning principles, particularly the 4 C’s: Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication. These are vital skills that students need to thrive in today’s world. We needed to fully optimize the space and furnishings to nurture these abilities.
Traditional classroom layouts often limit interactive and hands-on learning experiences. Thus, along with new floors and paint, new lighting and ceiling tiles, reimagining the foyer, and eliminating most of the built-in furniture, the choice of furniture was critical to accomplishing our goal of providing options for greater flexibility. The goal was to allow the configuration of the room to be determined by each teacher based on the educational plan for the day: small groups, partner work, whole class discussions, or traditional seating for presentations.
The result of the project was indeed a modern and versatile facility where students have the opportunity to work together in various group sizes, fostering a culture of cooperation, shared learning, and mutual respect.
This renovation is an investment in the future of our students, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed in an ever-evolving world. We are grateful to all those who helped fulfill our goals for the successful renovation of our middle school.
The aim of All Saints Episcopal School is to educate each of our children to his or her capacity within a God-centered environment. To adequately accomplish this, not only is a superior staff necessary, but also the most modern and versatile plant available.
- PAUL HANNEN, ALL SAINTS HEADMASTER, 1962
Recount of Dedication Ceremony
November 3, 2023 marked a momentous occasion in the life of All Saints Episcopal School as we dedicated and celebrated the newly renovated interior of our Middle School building. The morning began with a chapel service including special music by students, generous remarks given by Colby Crenshaw, All Saints class of 1990 and current All Saints parent, and a prayerful dedication of the renovation.
Following chapel, donors of the renovation and special friends of All Saints gathered in the Middle School for a brief ribbon cutting ceremony and reception. It was a joyous morning focused on thanking our renovation supporters while enjoying the grand reveal of the new interior space.
On Saturday, January 27, 2024, over 140 members of the All Saints family answered the call to participate in VISIONING DAY! Under the direction of our consultant, Christina Druin, parents, grandparents, alumni, past parents, board and faculty engaged in small group discussions and large group presentations, drilling down the priorities of our community and developing a vision for the future.
OUR GUIDING QUESTION FOR VISIONING DAY: If we could have the school of our dreams and the impact we most desire, what would All Saints Episcopal School look like in 2029 that would be new, better, or different than today?
As a result of this day-long, cerebral endeavor, a new VISION STATEMENT and a new MISSION STATEMENT were created as well as a plan that will successfully guide our school into the year 2029.
We are grateful for the enthusiastic collaboration and willingness of so many to voice their opinions, share their ideas, and passionately express their goals for the future of All Saints. We learned many valuable lessons that day… All Saints LISTENS. All Saints PLANS. And, All Saints ACTS in accordance with the hopes and dreams of our families.
One of the hallmarks of All Saints Episcopal School is our ability to balance a visionary, strategic outlook (for the future) with a commitment to excellence in our daily operations. Achieving this balance is no small feat, but we witness its success every day, thanks to the forward-thinking leadership of our Board of Trustees and the tireless dedication of our faculty, staff and the enthusiastic participation of our families.
A prime example is the Strategic Planning journey we embarked upon throughout the 2023-24 academic year. As the legendary Yogi Berra once quipped, “If you don’t know where you are going, you might wind up someplace else.” Professional consultant Christina Druin guided us through a year of thorough evaluation, research, and forward-looking discussions. As a result, All Saints is more confident than ever in our direction. With input from many of you—whether through focus groups, surveys, or the incredible turnout at Visioning Day last January—All Saints now has a refreshed Mission Statement, updated Core Values, and a dynamic Strategic Plan to guide us over the next five years.
One of the deliverables acquired from the work with Christina Druin is our Strategic Plan On A Page, located on the right. Complementing this concise overview are more than sixty initiatives—action steps designed to help All Saints achieve the goals and strategies outlined in the plan. This comprehensive effort will enhance every aspect of All Saints, from athletics to afterschool programs, from the emotional well-being of our students and faculty to the facilities on our campus. For those of you who contributed to the planning process, rest assured that your input and ideas are woven into the fabric of our plan. We extend our heartfelt thanks to each of you for helping to shape the future of All Saints!
Two priorities immediately surfaced during the course of these stimulating discussions:
1. Need for a school chaplain - Perpetually a goal of the school’s Board and Administration, hearing the desire for a chaplain on campus helped expedite this dream to become a reality. A part-time chaplain was hired in July 2024. Deacon Tracie Middleton leads chapel several times a week, teaches the 8th grade Religion Class, and provides emotional and spiritual support to our students, faculty and families.
2. Desire for an All Saints High School - The interest in establishing a high school has resonated strongly within our community, with the call growing increasingly robust in recent years. In response, the Board of Trustees approved the hiring of The Gowan Group to conduct a feasibility study for this endeavor.
While we are focused on the future, we remain unwavering in our commitment to delivering a top-notch educational experience to the more than 400 students currently enrolled at All Saints. With careful planning and strategy, we are confident that we can continue to balance our dreams for the future with our dedication to excellence today.

EXAMPLES OF INITIATIVES
To turn our Strategic Plan goals into reality, we’ve outlined sixty-five specific initiatives aimed at bringing each goal to life. The initiatives highlighted here represent just a small portion of our comprehensive plan. We will provide a mid-year report to update you on our progress. Every member of our faculty and staff is actively involved, working together across our campus to ensure that by 2029, we realize our shared vision for All Saints.
“It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!”
Christmas is a special time of year at All Saints, drawing our community close together celebrating the traditions as prescribed by our Episcopal identity and our school legacy. Generations of families and students gather for highly anticipated pageant performances, and enjoy elfish fun all over campus as we anxiously await the marking of Christ’s birth. Here are some ways we experienced the reason for the season in 2023-2024:
• Decorated classroom doors in Middle School
• Primary Christmas Program
• Lower School Christmas Pageant
• Faculty & Friends Christmas Caroling
• ASES Christmas card designed by an All Saints student
• Lessons on Advent in chapel
• 7th Grade St. Nicholas chapel program
• Educational Scholarships awarded to selected faculty members, presented at the faculty and staff Christmas party
All Saints Episcopal School can attribute much of its hard earned success to the outstanding participation of its families, especially under the highly capable leadership of the dedicated Parent Association. When our school community joins together, great things happen! Our cup runneth over with gratitude for the constant and consistent support of our volunteers! In 2023-2024, our Parent Association accomplished a multitude of achievements and exceeded their goals in numerous ways:
Warmly welcomed new families into the community
Organized, hosted, and supplied volunteers for numerous events
Graciously provided meals to faculty and staff
Financially contributed to the school in ways that benefitted all students
Generously supported the Mission of our school and brightened our community with beauty, creativity, and an eagerness to serve
Enjoy these pages celebrating the All Saints Class of 2020. We congratulate their graduation from high school and pray for them daily as their educational journey continues!
Claire Ren (All Saints Class of 2020) is a current freshman at Wellesley University in Wellesley, Massachusetts. At the age of 16, she wrote the children’s book Bee A Hero. On a warm day this past June, Claire came to campus to donate a set of her books to the 2024-2025 Kindergarten class, and to visit with us about her unique experience of being a young author.
What made you decide to write a book about bees?
Beaumont has a large beekeeping community and my Dad has friends who are beekeepers. During COVID, I read an article about how important bees are to the world and how urbanization is hurting bees. This inspired me to find out more and to try and get people to act. I’ve always loved being outdoors and loved being in nature. One of my favorite memories of All Saints is being on the playgrounds with my friends, engaged in imaginary play. Being outside everyday with my friends was a valuable experience and certainly part of my inspiration!
Did your experience at All Saints help you as you wrote your book?
Yes! Mr. Beard, who taught me writing classes for two years, was the best writing teacher I’ve ever had. He taught me how to use imagery and to explain things deeply. He was supportive of my writing while being constructively critical. He taught me to criticize my own writing.
Mr. Beard was the first person I reached out to with a draft of Bee A Hero for his suggestions.
What do you miss most about All Saints?
I miss my classmates. I also miss the support always there for me and the stability All Saints provided. I took this all for granted and didn’t realize what a unique experience I was having until I went on to high school.
What are your future plans?
I might write more in the future but my interests are now with informing and educating people on specific topics; much more technical writing. I will probably save writing books for later. While at Wellesley I plan to study Environmental Science, join the college orchestra (flute) and write for the newspaper.
