OUR PRAYER
Father in heaven, whose son Jesus Christ took children into His arms and blessed them; Bless, we pray, the students of All Saints School. Grant that we may grow up reverently in your love; Give us day by day strength and guidance, so that we may continue in your love and service until our lives end. Grant this, for Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen.
OUR MISSION
All Saints Episcopal School is a community dedicated to academic excellence in a secure and supportive Christian environment.
“It always seems impossible until it is done.” —Nelson Mandela
From THE Head of School Our school year began unlike any other in All Saints history. Facing the reality of fulfilling our mission to provide our students with a strong academic foundation in a secure and supportive Christian environment in the midst of a pandemic, our school once again proved to be on the leading edge in our community. We formed a task force of professionals in various fields to advise us on health and safety protocols and attended virtual webinars about what was needed to ensure the campus would be equipped to provide the safest environment possible for face-to-face instruction. Our Board of Trustees made sure we had whatever was needed to move forward. One of the most significant decisions we made was to employ a full-time nurse. Nicole West was a tremendous and indispensable support to all in our community, helping us navigate through quarantine situations and serving as our liaison with the Health Department. Some of the safeguards implemented on campus included: • State of the art air filtration systems • Hand sanitizers in every classroom • Electrostatic sprayers to disinfect the classrooms • Limited class size and building partitions to allow for six feet of social distancing • Putting up tents and tables for outside instruction and lunch We also made the commitment to provide the option of face-to-face or remote learning for our families. Knowing this would mean providing our teachers with training and planning time, we made the unprecedented decision to delay the start of school until after Labor Day. While there were many challenges ahead of us, I was grateful everyday for the unwavering support of our families and the perseverance of each and every one in our community.

ANNUAL REPORT 2020 - 2021
Perseverance is a virtue we have studied and celebrated each year at All Saints, but until this year I never knew what true perseverance looked like, or understood the depth of sacrifice required to see it through. • I witnessed perseverance in our All Saints Parent Association volunteers who agreed to chair events that were forced to become virtual, requiring more planning, more creativity, and more energy than what they were anticipating. • I saw it in the unwavering spirit of our teachers, committed to leaving their own personal struggles at the door in order to provide your children with a safe and even joy-filled learning environment. • I was in awe of the sacrifices made by Board and Task Force members who took time away from their jobs and families to analyze data and make difficult decisions for the health and safety of our community. • And, I saw it in YOU - our parents, grandparents and ardent All Saints supporters, as YOU continued to uphold our school in prayer, financially contributed to our success, and trusted the decisions made by the Board and Administration. The opening quote from Nelson Mandela seems appropriate for this past year. It seemed like an impossible task to provide for our students and families with the All Saints education and experiences that are central to our mission and philosophy in the midst of a pandemic, whether they were on or off campus. With God’s grace, strength and guiding hand, and the perseverance of our community, it was done! As we move forward, continuing to navigate through the challenges of COVID-19, I know we will continue to work together to equip our students with the tools they need to be resilient and successful on their path, wherever it takes them. Thank you for allowing us to be part of their journey. Be well, Scootie Clark Head of School
From THE Board Of Trustees President
The COVID-19 Pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to us all on both a personal and community level. If there is a silver-lining to be found, I like to think it is the collective passion we have rediscovered for All Saints during this time. The challenges borne of this pandemic have ultimately allowed us to highlight our strengths in education and has given us numerous reasons to stand together with pride as a school community. Over the last year and a half, we have come together as parents, teachers, administrators and board members to create the most optimal atmosphere for educating our children given extremely restrictive conditions. Our commitment to technology as a core component of our curriculum years ago allowed us to be innovative where others could not be during this pandemic. Specifically, we were able to transition to on-line learning quicker and more effectively with minimal lapses in education. Our 1:1 device initiative was integral in making this happen. This also allowed us to give more choices and flexibility to our parents during the heights of the pandemic where others could not. Although no substitute for inperson, daily chapel in the St. Stephen’s sanctuary, we were also able to continue our morning chapel service through the use of our green screen studio in the library. The emphasis on technological investments years ago made this a reality and has put All Saints at the forefront of innovative education in Southeast Texas. We did all this while maintaining our emphasis on educating our children in a secure and supportive Christian environment. Most importantly, we gave each other the grace necessary to navigate this unchartered territory which ultimately yielded our success. While there were some hiccups along the way, and uncertainties surely produced some anxiety, our common goal of wanting what is best for all our children, faculty and staff remained at the forefront and we conquered what seemed to be impossible. Through that lens, we have a renewed appreciation for this school we love so much and now have confidence that we can only continue to do great things from here on out. I personally would like to extend my appreciation to each and every one of you. You have given of your time, energy, and talents in helping us navigate this process. I ask that we all continue to give each other the understanding we need to adapt as we still tackle the challenges COVID-19 has presented us. With that support and our reliance on God’s guidance in this process, we can and will continue to be successful. Yours in Christ, Kelly Henry Board of Trustees President

remote learning Understanding it would be equal to operating two schools simultaneously, All Saints made the sacrifices necessary to offer remote learning as well as in-person learning. At one point during the 2020-2021 school year, almost 1/3 of our student body was remote by choice. We are grateful for the remarkable efforts made by faculty, staff and classmates to help remote learners feel “present.”

cOVid-19 Protocols September of 2020 looked nothing like a typical start to a school year. Flow charts, daily disinfecting protocols, and CDC guidelines helped us navigate our new normal. These mitigating strategies were not in vain. As a direct result of the dedicated service and guidance provided by our newly formed cOVid-19 task Force, the extra hours logged by the administration, faculty, and custodial staff, and the support of our parent community, All Saints is proud to report we had no community spread of COVID-19 on our campus.

“At All Saints, I learned to love learning. The sky was the limit. I could sing on stage, build a robot, or lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier. But beyond all that I learned there, All Saints was a home to me when I needed one most. The faculty and staff always imbued the atmosphere with compassion, free-spiritedness, curiosity, respect, leadership, dedication, and love. Going to All Saints made me more than a better student; it made me a better person– something which will serve me in any career, at any time, and any place. “All Saints instilled in me a drive to succeed academically, athletically and artistically. The challenging curriculum prepared me for my work in high school, and it continues to benefit me in college. The athletic programs showed me what it meant to be part of a hard working dedicated team and taught me to always strive toward success. I developed my artistic skill at All Saints, whose many resources and experienced teachers inspired my creative spirit. I graciously thank All Saints for all it did for me, because I would not be who I am today without its guiding hand.” —carOline rOebuck, Valedictorian, Legacy High School “When Corinne was in 2nd or 3rd Grade, I was on campus for some sort of Western/Chili Event for her class. I was standing outside of the classroom and Kathy Fisher walked by with prospective parents. Kathy asked if I wanted to share any thoughts with these parents regarding All Saints. I said, ‘I feel lucky — every day — that my children are able to attend this school.’ Now that Hailey has graduated and I am no longer a parent with children attending All Saints — I feel even more grateful. All Saints had a real tangible effect in Corinne being so successful at Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School and being accepted into NYU. As Hailey begins high school I know that the educational and spiritual foundation she has received at All Saints is going to be the launching pad for whatever her future may hold. I could not be prouder of my daughters. I do not know how I was blessed with such children. I am fully aware of how much All Saints had a role in shaping them. In the future, if I am ever asked about All Saints, I will say that my children’s lives are richer and better for every day they spent at this school.” —scOtt renick
