GOVERNOR’S ADDRESS Hello Key Clubbers, Coming from a semestered high school, it’s been a rough exam season. Sleep was optional and stress ran high. But I had Key Club to cheer me up. My time as District Governor is coming to a close. Together as the Eastern Canada District, we’ve achieved so much together. We’ve dedicated ourselves to service. We’ve strived to build our homes, schools, and communities. The world is a better place because of you, the individual Key Clubber. District Convention is the time that we celebrate this year of service. Join me and the district board in Halifax, Nova Scotia on March 23-25, 2018. In this newsletter, you’ll find information on how to register for convention. At DCON, we’ll elect the future leaders of Eastern Canada Key Club. The two elected positions are District Secretary-Treasurer and District Governor. The three appointed positions are District Webmaster, District Editor, and District Translator. These positions are for you, the member. Does the thought of serving on the district board excite you or scare you? Either way, keep reading to discover 5 reasons why I think you should run. Let’s make this last month and a half of the 2017-2018 Key Club year a productive service season!

LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR ELECTIONS The position of Lieutenant Governor is often considered the most rewarding position a Key Clubber hold. It strikes a balance between the district and club level.

You don’t have to work with new people. Stay with the friends and community you’ve developed in your division

Board members generally have little opportunity to communicate in person with the people they work with. As an LG, you’ll be able to work in person with your club presidents at various divisional events and service projects.

Best of both worlds! You get to work with the Key Clubs in your division but also have a seat at the district level.

Your LG will be holding elections at a divisional rally sometime between now and DCON (February to early March). Contact me or your LG for more information.
