Key Clubbers, Kiwanians, and distinguished guests, Welcome to DELC 2022! It seems like it was only yesterday ECD hosted the last virtual DELC in 2021. But what a difference this year. Eastern Canada has grown so much stronger, and more resilient. You all stuck by Key Club through the pandemic and ever-changing restrictions on how your clubs could operate and should be proud of what you have accomplished. For those of you graduating like myself, I wish you the best in whatever avenue you pursue in life. For those of you returning, I hope you continue your Key Club journey. I also highly encourage you to run for District or International office if you have the chance. After serving on the ECD Board for three years, I can say with confidence that I have grown so much as a leader and as a person, and have gained lifelong friends in the process. Taking a leap of faith to join Key Club and the District Board took a lot of bravery and risk, but I was so glad I did and so glad to have met so many great leaders along the way that I will never forget. I encourage you to take a leap of faith as well, even if it’s just a small opportunity in your life. Don’t let self-doubt hold you back! I want to end this letter by saying thank you. Each and every one of you made such a huge difference this year in your school, communities, and the Eastern Canada District. Thank you to the Key Club members who joined this year to continue to grow this amazing club. Thank you to the Advisors and Kiwanians who supported Key Club members through this tumultuous year. Thank you to everyone who fundraised for a cause, raised awareness, or hosted an event. Thank you to the District Board members and ECD Taskforce members for helping make this service year the best one yet. You all embodied the essence of Key Club this year and I couldn’t be prouder to have served as your District Governor. You all should be very proud of the work and service you accomplished this year, and I look forward to seeing what you will do in the years to come! All the best, ,

Jackie Fisher 2021-2022 ECD District Governor

Welcome all Key Club members, Faculty & Kiwanis Advisors, Kiwanis supporters & with much appreciation of our Eastern Canada & the Caribbean Governor Jim Scott for his commitment to all of our Service Leadership members. This year we were all faced with many challenges that we have worked so hard to overcome & many of us are left scarred but I firmly believe that when we do a deed for one or more in need with the spirit of love & humility, we receive an incredible joy that fills us with an unselfish love. With this love we become leaders as others witness the joy that they want to be a part of in the company of you beautiful Key Clubbers. As your Administrator, I could not be more proud than I have been as your Eastern Canada Board members gave their reports throughout many, many meetings over this past year. They worked relentlessly as a team for all of you so I urge you to thank them as your District leaders, thank your devoted faculty advisors who are your greatest cheerleaders giving of their valuable time for you & thank your Kiwanis Advisors whom without their support, you wouldn’t have this opportunity. Respectfully, Firma French Administrator Eastern Canada Key Club

Hello Eastern Canada! I am Salma Eldeeb and it has been an honor to serve as your 2021-2022 Key Club International President. It is a privilege to work with Key Club leaders from around the world to better this organization. From what I have heard, an ECD convention is like no other, so I hope you have a fantastic time. Governor Jackie and the entire District Board have been hard at work to create such an amazing convention for you all. Throughout this convention, make sure to celebrate all the service you have done this past year. And it hasn’t been an easy one, to say the least. After the blows from the pandemic, this year’s focus has mainly been on rebuilding and rebounding our clubs. But alongside that, Key Clubbers like you stepped up to the moment and helped those around them. I saw members volunteering around the world, from Taiwan to California and all that’s in between. Here in ECD, you rose to the challenge and continued to build your homes, schools, and communities. On behalf of Key Club International, I want to thank you for your dedication to creating a positive impact this year through your service. As I wrap up my letter, I have one last topic I want to really focus on. And that is to please enjoy this convention and celebrate the hard work you have done this year. I was a freshman in high school at my first convention who did not know it would change my life for the next four years. You have the potential to learn new things, make new friends, and find countless opportunities this weekend, so take it all in. Most of all, have fun! Your Friend in Leadership and Service,

Salma Eldeeb 2021-2022 Key Club International President

Hello Eastern Canada District! Congratulations on successfully completing another incredible year of service! It has been a pleasure to see you develop more as servant leaders in this amazing organization. The International Board is working on great projects and initiatives! The Global Leadership Certificate is about to launch for you all to enjoy. Get ready to learn about resilience, networking, self-awareness, critical thinking, volunteerism, and so much more! Additionally, we have two new Partners – Collegewise and Schoolhouse. Both organizations focus on education and offer unique opportunities. ICON 2022 is from July 6th through 10th in Washington DC! To reflect our historic location, this year's theme is 'Monumental Service'. Attend the convention to network with others from across the world, listen to speakers, and elect next year’s International Board. Check out the website for more information! Last but certainly not least, thank you to the 2021-222 ECDB and Governor Jackie for their sacrifices, planning, attention to detail, and passion this year. Your district was absolutely lucky to have your leadership and guidance! Continue to contact me and reach out with any comments or questions! Good luck this coming service year! Yours in Service and Friendship,

Cheyenne Stewart

Hello Eastern Canada Key Club District! I want to congratulate you on another great year of service. The amount of dedication that you have put into your communities and Eastern Canada this year is, as always, incredibly inspiring. I have had the pleasure of being able to work with the District Board, and want to personally congratulate Governor Jackie on her leadership and success this year. Governor, you and your board have tirelessly worked through unique circumstances this year to keep your district strong. You, your board, and all ECD Key Club members should be proud. Congratulations to all Key Club members who are graduating. As a former member, I realize how important the memories and friends you make in Key Club can be (I am still in contact with friends I met in Key Club, and one is even on my CKI District Board!). Cherish the experiences you’ve had, and let them help inspire you to whatever path you may take next. While I hope that next step includes CKI, I urge you to remain committed to your communities and engage in service, in whatever form that may be. To those returning and continuing to serve, keep up the amazing work! It is inspiring to see young people at different stages of their lives, doing different things, coming together in the Kiwanis Family. The time you put into every activity goes directly towards making the world a better place. Key Club is incredibly rewarding, make sure you take every opportunity possible to make it even more worthwhile.

Please feel free to contact Eastern Canada CKI (governor.eccirclek@gmail.com) if you have any questions, or want to get a headstart on your CKI journey. I wish you all the best of luck in the 2022-2023 service year! Your Friend in Leadership and Service,

Deanna Fisher

Hello Canadian Key Clubbers! My name is Serena Yang and I serve as the District Governor of the California-Nevada-Hawaii KIWIN'S Key Club District. I am proud to be a Sistrict Governor to Jackie and the amazing Eastern Canada District. I am sending warm welcomes to your District Convention from sunny southern California! Let's be real, this term has been hard for everyone. As a member of ECD, you remained resilient and managed to seek greatness in a tumultuous term. Despite being miles away from Canada, I wholeheartedly can say that I recognize you and am proud of you. I hope you are proud of yourself too! Take this weekend to celebrate your achievements and expand your leadership one last time before moving on to greater heights and endeavors. But of course, this great district wouldn't have been able to accomplish much without the leadership of Jackie. Congratulations to Jackie and the ECD District Board for making this term 'one-of-a-kind'. Your leadership shined with perseverance and passion that has trickled down to your members. Congratulations to everyone once again. Celebrate your growth at your leadership convention and make unforgettable memories alongside people that also deeply love this organization. Good luck everyone! Your Friend in Leadership and Service,

Serena Yang

Hello Eastern Canadians, My name is Prabhleen Pawar and I have had the great honor of being part of the district of CaMiWins as the Michigan District Governor. I would like to welcome you to your Virtual District Convention. Many might take this opportunity for granted since it comes from the comfort of their screen, but I would like to personally say that it takes much time and dedication from these young leaders to provide a high-quality event for you. This past year for Serena, Jackie, and I has been a whirlwind with all of the fluidity of this virus, but I should say that both Serena and Jackie have dealt with this with grace and elegance. At the start of August amidst all of the uncertainty of school, the virus, and what it meant for our district, we were all paired together as a district under our Trustee Cheyenne. Since then, I have been in awe of these ladies in their dedication to service and their leadership. One thing that I wish someone told me freshman year was to jump into the unknown, but adventurous water of Key Club. So hopefully this weekend you take your leap! Enjoy your District Convention!! Your Friend in Leadership and Service,

Prabhleen Pawar
