Hello Eastern Canada!

My name is Maria Wheeler, I am beyond honoured to serve as your District Governor for the 2022-2023serviceyear!Mytermsofarhasbeenawhirlwindoffriendshipand leadershipandIamsoexcitedtosharealltheamazingopportunitieswithyouall!

Even though these past couple of years have been difficult in terms of holding events and activities, our Key Clubbers have resiliently connected through our service. With this, I am determined to make this service year the most memorable one yet! Although I have lofty goals andambitions,IamextremelyconfidentinourdistrictandthecharacterofourKeyClubbers!

My top two priorities this year are membership development and service. The vibrant culture of carewithinourdistrictisunremarkableandIhopetocontinuetosharetheKeyClubcorevalues by chartering ten clubs, in addition to supporting the current members across our district. Also, focussingoncharteringclubsinunderrepresentedcommunitiesandruralareasisoftheutmost importance to further my goal of diversifying our district and encouraging inclusivity. Next, service is what has connected us all throughout our past struggles and it is my hope to emphasize this throughout my term by holding quarterly district-wide service projects. The summer initiative, Chalk Art Challenge, has already kickstarted this goal and lasting from OctobertotheendofNovember, theGovernor’sServiceProjectfortheThirstProjectwillstart!

Hello Eastern Canada!

My name is Hope Roundcount, and I’m from the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District. I am so excited to serve Eastern Canada this year as your new trustee, and I know that together we will achieve amazing things! Your district, being outside of the United States, has an especially unique culture which I cannot wait to uncoverandparticipatein, allwhilesharingideasbetweentheotherdistrictsinoursistricts.

Indiana and California-Nevada-Hawaii KIWIN’S, the other two districts in our sistrict, are just as excited as you to share some new ideas, learn about each other’s cultures, and make some new friends. Although I know that Eastern Canada was already in a sistrict with CNH KIWIN’S, I am confident that there are always new people to meet, new ideas to share, and new events to collaborate on. My job as a trustee, in part, is to facilitate that process of spreading information, ideas, campaigns, and events between districts andfromtheinternationalboard.Thinkofyourtrusteeasalinktoallthingsinternational!

I understand that the Eastern Canada District plans to charter a lot of new clubs over the course of the next several months. Due to my participation on a New Club Building and Reactivation Committee in my home district, I have email templates, phone banking scripts, and presentations on membership recruitment, retainment, andengagementthatarejustwaitingtobeshared—sopleaseneverhesitatetoreachoutifyou have any questions on this subject! You can also follow the sistrict Instagram (@caninwins) to get informationaboutallsistrictevents,shout-outs,andanyprizesthatImayaward!

I really appreciate all of your hard work, and I thank you for all of your AMAZING service. I am so proud of your district’s accomplishments already, and I hope you will let me know if there is ever anything I can do tohelpyoufurtheryourgoalsinthefuture.
