DIVISION FOUR

White Oaks Secondary School

KRISPY KREME FUNDRAISER Article written by Srishti Khadilkar, Lieutenant Governor of Division 4

On January 13th, Division Four held a Krispy Kreme Donut Fundraiser for Key Club at White Oaks Secondary School. Before the event, we made a large banner, posters and advertised the event on their social media. In preparation for the event, we ordered approximately 100 dozen boxes of donuts from the Krispy Kreme near their city with the help of our Kiwanis Club Advisor. On the day of the event, we had 2-3 members volunteer for each period. They were responsible for collecting money, giving out the donuts, and keeping count of how many donuts. were sold.

Krispy Kreme also gave us free hats to wear which really got us in the spirit of the sale! We sold approximately 90 dozen, and by this point we had already broke even so we were not worried about not selling out. We had also made a profit of around $450.00 for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Halton. As an act of kindness, we decided to give the rest of the boxes away to the staff- the teachers, janitors, and librarians etc, as well as some students who really wanted a donut.

Article written by Srishti Khadilkar,

The club members first made the mattresses into individual and balls and then they crocheted them together to create mattresses and mats. This service project was a huge success with the involvement of all of the club’s Key Clubbers!

Lieutenant Governor of Division 4

In September, the AN Myer Key Club of Division 4 crocheted mattresses from milk bags as donations to those living in third world countries. These mattresses are not only cost effective but efficient. Compared to the leaf mats that the majority of people use, these mattresses are waterproof and more durable.

Lieutenant Governor of Division 11/12 November 27th of 2019 was a special day for Key Clubbers at Colonel Gray High School of Charlottetown, it was the night of their International Coffeehouse, the culmination of all their hard work for the previous 5 months. It all started with Key Clubber Steven Liu, who noticed the school’s developing diversity and wanted to do something to acknowledge it. In May of 2019, he received a Rising Youth grant of $1500 and bought the flags of the 57 countries Colonel Gray students were from. The flags were then set up in the school’s cafeteria throughout the following months, which was no easy feat. Many lunch hours were put into ironing, steaming, and attaching the flags to poles to be installed.
