Pameran Seni Rupa Murni “Liminal Realities”

Salam Budaya,

Dengan rasa syukur yang mendalam, Program Studi Seni Rupa Murni, Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain Institut Kesenian Jakarta kembali hadir dalam pameran Liminal Realities. Liminal realities dalam bidang seni rupa merujuk pada konsep ruang, waktu, atau kondisi yang berada di antara batas-batas yang jelas, seperti transisi antara dua keadaan atau dimensi. Istilah "liminal" berasal dari kata Latin limen, yang berarti "ambang" atau "batas." Dalam konteks seni rupa, liminal realities digunakan untuk menggambarkan pengalaman estetika, emosional, atau simbolis yang ada di wilayah ambang, tidak sepenuhnya berada di satu sisi atau sisi lainnya.

Pameran Liminal Realities adalah wujud nyata dari dedikasi, imajinasi, dan eksplorasi para perupa yang merupakan dosen Program Studi Seni Rupa Murni FSRD IKJ dari 3 mayor utama yaitu Seni Lukis, Seni Grafis dan Seni Patung

Dalam menggali batasan antara dunia nyata dan ruang liminal— dimensi yang terletak di antara yang nyata dan yang tidak pasti serta hadir untuk menggambarkan keadaan transisi, perubahan, dan ambiguitas yang sering kali menjadi refleksi dari kehidupan modern. Melalui karya-karya yang dipamerkan sebagai media komunikasi yang menghubungkan seniman dengan para penikmat seni, pemirsa diajak untuk merenungkan berbagai makna keberadaan, pergerakan, dan batasan yang sering kali tidak terlihat, tetapi dapat dirasakan

Kami percaya bahwa seni memiliki kekuatan untuk membuka dialog, menyatukan perbedaan, dan memperdalam pemahaman kita tentang dunia yang terus berubah. Hal lainnya, pameran

Para seniman yang berpartisipasi dalam pameran ini adalah Agoes Salim, Budi Panca Mulia Tobing, Deny Rusanto, Dolorosa Sinaga, Fachriza Jayadimansyah, Firman Lie, Guntur Wibowo, Jimmy Ivan Suhendro, Munadinanur, Supriyanto, Walid Syarthowi Basmalah, dan Wina Luthfiya Ipnayati. Mereka tidak hanya dikenal sebagai akademisi yang membimbing generasi seniman masa depan, tetapi juga sebagai praktisi seni yang terus berinovasi Posisi mereka sebagai pengajar sekaligus kreator menciptakan dinamika unik dalam proses berkarya, menjembatani teori dan praktik, serta tradisi dan eksperimen.

Liminal Realities mengangkat tema yang relevan di tengah perubahan sosial dan budaya yang cepat. Setiap karya dalam pameran ini menjadi refleksi atas kompleksitas dunia kontemporer, di mana identitas, ruang, dan waktu saling berinteraksi dengan cara yang tak terduga. Dengan pendekatan visual yang beragam, pameran ini menawarkan pengalaman estetis yang memancing dialog dan introspeksi.

Sebagai galeri komersial, D Gallerie berupaya untuk menjadi jembatan antara dunia seni akademik dan publik yang lebih luas Kolaborasi dengan Prodi Seni Rupa Murni FSRD IKJ merupakan upaya untuk mendukung proses kreatif yang melampaui batasbatas institusional. Keberadaan ruang liminal mencerminkan perjalanan setiap individu dalam memahami dirinya sendiri. Seperti halnya dengan para seniman yang mengolah ide-ide awal menjadi karya yang matang, setiap manusia berada dalam proses terus-menerus untuk mendefinisikan identitas dan hubungan kita dengan dunia sekitar Dalam konteks ini, karya seni dalam pameran ini menjadi cerminan dari kondisi manusia yang selalu berada di ambang batas, selalu mencari makna

Melalui perpaduan seni lukis, grafis, dan patung, audiens diundang untuk melihat lebih dalam bagaimana seni dapat membingkai ulang realitas sehari-hari menjadi sebuah pengalaman yang penuh makna. Sebuah lukisan yang menggambarkan lanskap urban dapat berbicara tentang alienasi sekaligus koneksi, grafis dengan detail halusnya dapat membangun narasi yang kompleks, sedangkan patung yang memanfaatkan material alam dapat memunculkan refleksi tentang keberlanjutan dan hubungan manusia dengan lingkungan. Liminal Realities bukan sekadar pameran; ini adalah ruang untuk menggali ketegangan yang membentuk dunia kita.

Pameran ini juga mencerminkan relevansi institusi seni seperti IKJ dalam membentuk ekosistem seni yang dinamis Sebagai dosen, para seniman ini tidak hanya menciptakan karya, tetapi juga mendidik generasi baru untuk memahami seni sebagai alat refleksi dan transformasi. Kolaborasi antara dunia akademik dan galeri komersial seperti D Gallerie menunjukkan bagaimana berbagai entitas dapat bekerja sama untuk memperluas akses dan apresiasi terhadap seni rupa kontemporer Indonesia.

Kami mengundang para pemerhati seni untuk melihat lebih dekat, meluangkan waktu untuk menyelami detail setiap karya, dan membiarkan diri terlibat dalam dialog yang ditawarkan oleh pameran ini. Dengan menjelajahi Liminal Realities, Anda tidak hanya menyaksikan karya seni, tetapi juga ikut serta dalam perjalanan transformatif yang menciptakan ruang baru untuk kemungkinan dan interpretasi

Pada akhirnya, pameran ini adalah perayaan atas kemampuan seni untuk menjembatani kesenjangan antara yang nyata dan yang potensial. Agus Salim (b. 1958). Agus Salim is a seasoned sculptor with over two decades of expertise, renowned for his mastery of wood as a primary medium His works are celebrated for their profound exploration of the aesthetic and philosophical essence of wood, seamlessly blending natural forms with expressive artistry

Agus earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Jakarta Institute of Arts (IKJ) in 1995 and later pursued a Master of Fine Arts from the same institution, graduating in 2011. With a career spanning more than 25 years, he has been a dedicated lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts, IKJ, where he mentors and inspires new generations of artists.

Since 2000, Agus has been an active member of the Indonesian Sculptors Association (API), playing a significant role in advancing the field of sculpture in Indonesia.

Firman Lie (b 1961) is an accomplished artist and educator with a rich educational and professional background He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Graduate School at the Jakarta Institute of Arts (IKJ). In addition to his formal education, he studied portrait painting in Jambi, printmaking at Artibus Utrecht and the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, and lithography under Marieke Keuken in Groningen, The Netherlands He has held various academic positions, including Head of the Graphic Arts Program (1992–1996), Faculty Development Officer (1997–1999), and Coordinator of General Courses (2017–2023) at the Faculty of Fine Arts, IKJ

Beyond academia, Guntur is an active mural artist engaged in national and international art exhibitions. His works reflect dynamic social and cultural themes, expressed with a bold and expressive visual approach.

Guntur is also the founder of Jongmerdeka, a mural community promoting freedom of expression in public spaces. He encourages younger generations to transform urban spaces into vibrant artistic landscapes. Through his murals, which often convey messages of optimism and change, Guntur continues to enrich Indonesia's contemporary art scene.

He began his academic journey by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at the Jakarta Institute of Arts (IKJ), where he developed a strong foundation in various artistic disciplines Driven by his desire to deepen his knowledge and expand his artistic horizons, he pursued and successfully completed his Master’s degree in Fine Arts at the Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) Surakarta

Currently, Supriyanto serves as a lecturer in the Faculty of Fine Arts at IKJ, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping and mentoring young artists His teaching philosophy emphasizes both technical mastery and conceptual exploration, encouraging his students to find their unique voices in the art world His dedication to education extends beyond the classroom, as he actively participates in exhibitions and collaborations that showcase his own artistic journey while inspiring others to pursue theirs

96), also known as Defiyya Moon, is a multidisciplinary p cross various mediums such as sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and performance art. Born in Majalengka in 1996, she set her sights on Jakarta in 2014 to fulfill her aspirations in the Indonesian art scene From 2015 to 2019, Wina immersed herself in the arts of acting, performance, and theater through her involvement with the Regu Kerja Didi Petet and Sena Didi Mime communities Concurrently, from 2017 to 2021, she pursued her studies in Fine Arts at the Jakarta Institute of Arts (IKJ).

Her final project at IKJ focused on Marni, a Pesinden (traditional Javanese singer) from Majalengka. Wina organized an archive exhibition that revived Marni's legacy, ultimately leading to Marni being commemorated with a totem in the Majalengka Historical Park, with Wina authoring the accompanying historical context This effort not only preserved Marni's influence but also honored her as a significant cultural figure

Currently, Wina is an active member of the art collectives Galeri Saku and Kosarupa. She works as an Administrator at D Gallerie Jakarta, serves as a member of the Jakarta Arts Council Visual Arts Committee for the 2023–2026 period, and is also a part-time lecturer in the Fine Arts Department at IKJ Wina’s practice continues to blend her multidisciplinary skills and passion for preserving cultural narratives, making her an influential presence in the Indonesian art world.
