Cast Biographies Jesse Heindl (Justin Hicks) was “ensnared” from an early age, and coerced by his parents onto the stage. Jesse first got his start in acting in Guys and Dolls. After his performance that summer, no such additional encouragement was needed. He would eventually go on to appear in To Kill A Mockingbird, A Christmas Carol, Bye Bye Birdie, Bridal Terrorism and many others. Jesse has appeared in several production. His most recent stage appearance was in Absalom. He is a resident of Marco Island.

Bianca Nova LaRochelle (Louise Heindbetter) was born in Long Island, New York, grew up in South West Florida and moved to Marco Island in 2012. Bianca began her acting career as the lead witch in a 2011 high school production of Mmmbeth, by Alison Williams, a comedic parody of Shakespeare’s Classic. In 2013 Bianca worked with the Marco Island Shakespeare Festival, playing Olivia in Twelfth Night. Bianca is in 11th grade at Marco Island Academy, has been a member of the National Honor Society since spring 2013 and enjoys meditation and yoga. Bianca definitely sees community theatre as a life-long passion!

Carole Musgrave (Pamela Peabody) first fell in love with the stage while performing as a child. Many years later, when she returned to college to complete her degree in English at Wellesley College, MA, she studied Acting, Directing, and Classical Plays. She has since performed with the Shakespeare by the Shore company in Cape Cod, MA, and with TMP. She says, “I’ve enjoyed playing wonderfully diverse roles--from tragic Shakespearian characters, to hilarious Mercedes in The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of A Christmas Carol, to a self-centered Juror #12 in Twelve Angry Jurors and crazy Helga in the suspense thriller, Deathtrap. Carole is a resident of Marco Island.

Sean O’Shea (Henry Bingham) made his acting debut with The Marco Players as Juror #5 in Reginald Rose’s Twelve Angry Jurors and Barney Cashman in The Last of the Red Hot Lovers. He appeared on stage with the national improve comedy troop, Comedy Sportz, from 1994 to 1997. He also has appeared in the educational film, Be Cool, as well as some short films for the UCSB film school.

Cheryl Johnson (Muriel Bingham) is a newcomer to The Marco Players Theater. She was bitten by the acting “bug” and recently took on her first role as the German nurse in Laura Larusso’s original script, Afterlife of the Rich and Famous. Cheryl is so happy being on stage, excited she was given this opportunity and would like to thank Beverly, Sandy and everyone else that make up this wonderful cast and crew. Additional thanks go to friends Laura Larusso, Rachel Coleman and Scott Lily; to Cheryl’s mom, Marylou Fischer, for her love and adoration and to Cheryl’s wonderful husband Brian, for his love, understanding and patience. Cheryl is a licensed massage therapist and esthetician at the Marco Island Hilton Beach Resort and Spa. Alex Costello (Dickie Bell) is a former lawyer, editor and teacher from Massachusetts.

Most recently, Alex was employed as an English and Public Speaking teacher at Brooks School in North Andover MA, where he acted in and directed several plays. As an actor, Alex appeared in The Dining Room, Sweet Charity and The Laramie Project. Alex directed productions of Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Over the Tavern,The Underpants, Is He Dead?, Twelve Angry Jurors and The Cripple of Inishmaan. Alex currently resides with his wife in Fiddler’s Creek, where he enjoys golf and running. The Fox on the Fairway is Alex’s first performance with The Marco Players.

Production Crew Phares Heindl (Stage Manager) has been involved in the Marco Players, both as an actor and stage hand, since he moved to Marco Island. This is his first time as stage manager and he is delighted for the opportunity to work with all the actors. Especially with his son, Jesse Heindl, who is playing the part of Justin Hicks.

Jim Swanker (Master Carpenter/Set Design), in addition to being a Master Carpenter, is a fine artist.You can see his art work in various locations around the island. After retiring from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania, Jim and his wife Karen, also an artist, settled here on Marco Island. They spend winters on Marco Island and summers with family in Jackson Hole. Since joining TMP, Jim has designed and/or built sets for On Golden Pond,The Fourth Wall, Seascape,Take Five, Baggage, Come Blow Your Horn,Visiting Mr. Green, Chapter Two,The Last of the Red Hot Lovers,Twelve Angry Jurors, Breakfast Club, A Christmas Carol, Plaza Suite, ‘Tis The Season Charlie Brown,The 39 Steps,The Last Romance , Deathtrap, Absalom and A Christmas Story. Jim is a member of the Board of Directors.

Jan Weiss (Set Decorator and Set Painter) comes to us by way of New York where she pursued a successful career in interior design. For the past four years, she has staged model apartments, corporate lobbies and single family homes for The Manhattan Building Company. She has decorated sets for Come Blow Your Horn, Remember Me, Seascape,The Fourth Wall,Take Five, On Golden Pond, Baggage, Chapter Two, A Christmas Carol,Twelve Angry Jurors,Visiting Mr. Green,The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Plaza Suite,The 39 Steps,The Last Romance, Deathtrap, Absalom and A Christmas Story. Jan is a member of the Board of Directors.

Jim Houghton (Light Board Operator) has a long list of credits with TMP. He has been doing our lighting since 2007. Jim has lent his lighting skills to The Love List, The Odd Couple, Wally’s Café, Murder on The Rerun, Jake’s Women, Jewel Thieves, Take Five, Baggage, Come Blow Your Horn, Twelve Angry Jurors, Visiting Mr. Green, The Last of The Red Hot Lovers, The 39 Steps,The Last Romance, Deathtrap and Absalom. He fell in love with TMP as a child when his grandmother brought him to the Players to see Harvey. The pink rabbit keeps him coming back.

Stephanie Millman (Sound Board Operator) is a graduate of Cedar Crest College with a B.A. in Studio Art integrated with Technical Theatre. Stephanie interned at the Pocono Playhouse and was a member of the Resident Company at Civic Theatre of Allentown, as well as a long time volunteer for Civic Theatre. Some of the productions she has lent her expertise to are Seussical the Musical, A Christmas Carol, Rent, Tuesdays with Morrie, Steel Magnolias, Titanic and Nunsense. Stephanie, a recent transplant from Pennsylvania, was sound operator for Plaza Suite, The 39 Steps, The Last Romance, Deathtrap and Absalom. She is excited to continue her involvement with TMP. Asquit White (Set Painter) comes to Marco Island by way of Short Hills, New Jersey and Antigua. He is currently working for Jan and Sandy Weiss creating a wonderful family space with their dogs, Winston, Griffin, Asta Bella, Sophia Mia Pinky Baby and Sadie Rose in their new home on Marco Island. He has helped in our set decorating by painting sets for Come Blow Your Horn,Take Five, Baggage, Chapter Two,Twelve Angry Jurors,The 39 Steps,The Last Romance, Deathtrap, Plaza Suite,The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Absalom and A Christmas Story giving them his professional touch.

Production Crew Continued Kay Riegel (Costumer) is a transplant from Michigan. She has been involved with theatre through high school, college, and 30 years in a historic 129 year old opera house. Kay has been on-stage and back-stage for many years. Kay joined TMP this season and has costumed Absalom and A Christmas Story.

Karen Swanker (Graphics) Karen Swanker moved to Marco Island in 2004 after retiring from a career in advertising. Always on a course involving art, a high school contest lead to a scholarship at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia.

After graduation, she attended Hussian School of Art also in Philly. A move to the Poconos led to the opening of the Village Craftsman at Blueberry Hill in the Poconos where for 11 years she taught crafts to customers, schools and scout groups. She returned to college to finish her degree in Fine Arts for Art at East Stroudsburg University. After 12 years doing advertising for Trent Graphics, she moved Marco Island and has become involved with the art community. She was a member of the Artist Colony at the Esplanade for two years and is currently on the board of directors for MIFA. Her touches at the theater include organizing and hanging the art work on the Theater Gallery Wall and filling in where needed by sewing pillows, making props and painting scenery.

Valentina Cioce (Backstage Manager) a native of Naples, Florida, she made her debut with The Marco Players as Julia in Absalom. Valentina took ballet and acting classes as a child, was in chorus and had singing parts in various Christmas musicals. Valentina also attended Barbizon Modeling and Acting school and has been a certified personal trainer for five years. Valentina would like to dedicate her performance to her five-year-old son, Dallas.

Jackie Sweiden (Backstage Manager) is a part-time resident of Marco Island and hails from Winnipeg, Canada. Jackie helped with props and worked back stage for The Last Romance and Plaza Suite. She wants to thank her family and friends for supporting her as she embarks on her theater adventures.

Mary Bryan (Backstage Manager) was born in North Carolina and studied to become an educator. Mary was a writer in residence at Weymouth Center in Southern Pines, North Carolina. She dabbled in community and dinner theater with roles in Bye Bye Birdie and The Sound of Music. She has appeared with TMP in The Legend of Roaring Gulch, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Wizard of Oz, Five Tellers Dancing In The Rain, Take Five and at the Green Door, with Poetry Alive in Ashville, North Carolina. Mary has been a consistent backstage volunteer for such plays as Chapter Two, Visiting Mr Green, The Last Romance and Absalom.

From The President As we begin our 39th year, I am thankful for our community’s support and participation.

The Marco Players Theater is your community theater and we thank you for making our 39th year a true celebration.

As you may already know, The Marco Players is a not-for-profit charitable organization registered with the IRS under Section 501(c) (3.) We depend on community donations of time and money. Those of us who work tirelessly to bring you quality live performances are all volunteers: • Our Board of Directors- all volunteers.

• Our Hospitality committee members- all volunteers.

• Our actors, who donate countless hours of their time- all volunteers.

• Our Production Team members- all volunteers.

Your donations and our box office ticket sales have enabled us to maintain your community theater and make improvements in the facility.

The Marco Players Theater has done little to no fundraising. Yet, during the last 12 years, we have been able to successfully manage your community theater and it’s everincreasing expenses. Most people do not realize that production costs for costumes, royalties to publishing houses, set construction, advertising, and printing, our online box office system and administrative expenses must be managed in a way that keeps us selfsustaining and able to plan for future funding of your community theater.

I want to assure you that we do not take your support or our fiscal responsibility lightly.

When we remodeled the theater in 2010, we had planned the renovation carefully.

When we added new lighting in 2011, our finances were also in place for that addition.

Thanks to our generous patrons, we were able to bring these projects to fruition!

As we segue into our 40th year, without your loyal and continued support for your community theater, our vision would not be possible. The Marco Players Theater is YOUR community theater, and we appreciate your support.

The Marco Players are proud to showcase a partnering with the Marco Island Academy, the island’s public Charter high school open to all students within Collier County.

Founded three years ago, the Academy has sought to become an asset to the community actively interacting within the fine arts island wide.

Thankfully, students from the school now bring to our stage an incomparable display of youth in exchange for the tutelage by our theatre’s experts in all aspects of production.

Bianca La Rochelle is a perfect example of how the merging of students and teachers on the Marco Players’ stage is truly a win-win situation for Marco Island‘s theatre arts.
