Setting Present summer day in an American city very much like Seattle.

Directors Notes I would like to thank The Marco Players for the opportunity to direct Becky’s New Car. A play about life, love and the choices we sometimes make. Thanks you for your support of our theater. Without the audience, it’s just rehearsal.

Cast Biographies Erin Laughlin (Becky Foster) has participated in community theatre for the last 25 years. Her most recent appearance was Charlotte in Moon Over Buffalo with The Naples Players. She appeared last season at The Marco Players as Annie in Apt 3A. She is happy to be acting on Marco Island again this year with this very talented cast! “I Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!”

Andrew Ciliberto (Joe Foster) is delighted to be in his first production with The Marco Players. Andrew has appeared with The Naples Players in Barefoot InThe Park, Our Town and recently in The Irish Curse with Let’s Put on a Show Productions. From New York, Andrew now enjoys volunteering his time in several endeavors, including our theater community, both as an actor and as a behind-the-scenes crew member. “My sincere thanks to everyone within The Marco Players organization, the cast, and to Greg Madera for giving me this opportunity. Additional thanks to the production crew who make it happen for us on stage. And, special thanks and love to Deborah and Mac for their never ending support.”

Sean O’Shea (Chris Foster) made his acting debut with The Marco Players as Juror #5 in Reginald Rose’s Twelve Angry Jurors. Since then, he has appeared in several other productions including Last of the Red Hot Lover’s and Fox on the Fairway. Sean has also assisted as backstage crew on Absolom, and as hospitality for the summer comedy series, A Double Dip of Comedy. Sean was a member of the national improv comedy troop, ComedySportz. He has appeared in the education film series Be Cool, as well as other short films for the UCSB film school. Sean would like to thank his son Jackson for his unconditional support, and his friend Lynn Gordon for supporting his endeavors in theater.

Cast Biographies Continued Kevin Kenneally (Walter Flood) comes to TMP with career backgrounds in education and law enforcement. As a member of SAG-AFTRA, Kevin has worked on more than 30 movies and television shows. His recent stage work includes the roles of Father Fitzgerald in The New England Touring Company’s presentation of Flanagan’s Wake and Underling in The Naples Players’ production of The Drowsy Chaperone. Thanks to all at TMP for making this a memorable and fun production, and special thanks to my wife, Linda, for her continuing love and support.

Valentina Cioce (Kenni Flood) was born and raised in Naples, FL and made her debut as Julia in last year’s play, Absolom. Growing up with dance, acting, and modeling lessons,Valentina developed her passion for performing. She is also a mother and a personal trainer and dedicates this performance to her family.

Alex Costello (Steve) has a professional background as a lawyer, editor and teacher, and was most recently employed as an English and public speaking teacher at Brooks School in Andover, MA where he has also acted in and directed several plays. As an actor at Brooks, Alex appeared in The Dining Room, Sweet Charity and The Laramie Project. Alex directed productions of Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Over the Tavern, The Underpants, Is He Dead?, Twelve Angry Jurors, and The Cripple of Inishmaan. Last season, Alex performed with The Marco Players in The Fox on the Fairway. Alex resides with his wife in Fiddler’s Creek, where he enjoys running, golf and all things Irish.

Kathleen Barney (Ginger) is enjoying her third season with the Marco Players where she appeared as Caroline in Take Five and Carol in The Last Romance. She also performed in the Vagina Monologues at The Norris Center. Kathleen began her singing and performing career at the age of three because of her parents, who were professional entertainers. As a Community Relations Specialist and trainer for FEMA, she keeps busy traveling, and when back in Naples, she works as a realtor for Premier Plus Realty. Her love of theatre dictates that she takes time out of her busy schedule for theater, and she is delighted to once again be involved with all of her friends at The Marco Players.

Production Crew Greg Madera (Director) has been involved in one way or another in theater since his high school days in Marion, SC. After earning a BA in Theater from Limestone College, Greg began his professional career at the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, TN. Greg has worn many hats in the theater and is happy working with The Marco Players. Thanks for letting me “play.�

Jim Houghton (Light Board Operator) grew up on Marco Island and graduated

from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida with a degree in Psychology. When not in the tech booth, Jim is one of the gym rats at the Marco Fitness Club. He spends his summers in New York State on the St. Lawrence River.

Stephanie Millman (Back Stage Manager/Stage Manager/Sound Design/Sound Board Operator) is a graduate of Cedar Crest College with a BA in Studio Art integrated with Technical Theatre. Stephanie interned at the Pocono Playhouse and was a member of the Resident Company at Civic Theatre of Allentown, as well as a long-time volunteer for Civic Theatre. Among the productions she has lent her expertise to are Seussical the Musical, A Christmas Carol, Rent,Tuesdays with Morrie, Steel Magnolias,Titanic and Nunsense. Stephanie was Stage Manager and Sound Designer for various shows over the last two seasons at TMP. She was Sound Board Operator for Plaza Suite,The 39 Steps, Deathtrap, Absalom,The Fox on The Fairway, Art, Julius Caesar, and for A Double Dip of Comedy.

Production Crew Continued Jim Swanker (Master Carpenter/Set Design) is a fine artist and a master carpenter. After retiring from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania, Jim and his wife Karen, also an artist, settled here on Marco Island. They spend winters on Marco Island and summers with family in Jackson Hole. Since joining TMP, Jim has designed and/or built sets for over 21 different stage productions.

This season, his most recent creation is the Donor Plaque located in the hallway.

Jim is a member of The Marco Players Board of Directors.

Karen Swanker (Art Coordinator) moved to Marco Island along with her husband, Jim, in 2004 after retiring from a career in advertising. Always on a course involving art, a high school contest led to a scholarship at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. After graduation, she attended Hussian School of Art in Philly. A move to the Poconos led to the opening of the Village Craftsman at Blueberry Hill in the Poconos where, for 11 years, she taught crafts to customers, schools and scout groups. She returned to college to

Carolyn Burger, Artist Carolyn Burger lives on Marco Island, Florida after retiring from public education in northeast Ohio. She is known for her painting of Florida scenes whether it is the sky, the water, the vegetation or the wildlife that share this gorgeous state.

Carolyn paints with many different mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolor and pen and ink. She is an active member of Marco Island’s Center for the Arts, the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts and the United Arts Council of Collier County.

“Learning to see the beauty in this world and putting it on canvas has made my life so much fuller,” she says.

Visitors are welcome to see her work in her home studio at 282 Sand Hill Street on Marco Island. You can also find her participating in area art shows and events.

Anne Hayes

Anne Hayes, Artist Anne Hayes is a self-taught artist who was late focusing on her fine art skills as she began to paint in her late fifties; music was always her first love and after a career in voice, illness prevented her from singing and thus ended her life of vocal art.

Upon moving to Naples, Anne has studied art with Arturo Samaniego, a graduate student of art at the prestigious Diego Rivera School of Fine Art in Mexico City, and under his tutelage she feels she has grown in vision and skill.

From The President Dear Marco Players Theater Patrons, My fellow Board Members and I welcome you to the 40th Anniversary season at The Marco Players. We are grateful and thankful for the many patrons who have continued to enthusiastically support our performing arts theater.

Each year, we have been fortunate to engage many talented performers in our area, and this year is no different. We not only have our four main productions that will make you laugh and touch your heart, but we have the delightful pleasure of bringing back Shakespeare in Paradise with their hilarious production of The Merry Housewives of Windsor.

In addition, our talented Marco Island Academy students partnered with the Marco Island Shakespeare Festival to perform the holiday show, Yuletide Shakespeare and will perform Macbeth in May. For our audiences who love improv, watch for Wow Improv’s March evening performance, Let’s Make Stuff Up. It’s intended for the whole family and audience participation is encouraged!

Your Saturday Box Lunch Series welcomes back Wow Improv and their comedy antics along with Janina Birtolo’s historical production about Margaret Sanger, Woman Rebel. As an additional surprise, returning from our summer success, A Double Dip of Comedy, is the hilarious production of Wanda’s Visit.
