As some of our staff will also be heading with the dancers, we wanted to inform you all that there will be a few new faces subbing in classes as well up at the front desk to help our dancers take on those couple of days of classes As we will be busy with all things TDAC, please note that our response times maybe a little slower; but please don’t hesitate to reach out and we will communicate as we can and help along the way! Be sure to check out our social media to follow along with some of the awesome stuff we will be doing!

This month, The Dance Attic will donate $50 to the East Wake Back Pack Buddies!

This Months Dancer Of The Month Is...

Danica Melton

SENIOR FEATURE:

ISABELLA NIEMANN:

My favorite memory is class last year with my best friends and getting to grow together and have fun. Some advice that I would give a younger dancer is to enjoy every moment even the tough ones because it helps you grow!

D E C E M B E R T - S H I R T C H A L L E N G E :

For the month of December, we want to see a photo of you with a SNOWMAN! You might have to get creative, but we are dancers; so we are good at that! Be sure to comment on The Facebook Post for our T-Shirt Challenge so we can feature you in next months Newsletter!

The Dance Attic will be performing in The Rolesville Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 1st. CLICK HERE to view the Rolesville Info Page to follow for guidelines and expectations for the Parade.

Drop Off & Entry Number: TDA will line up at 12:30 pm in the Thales Parking Lot in Rolesville. If you’re dropping off a participant, you may only enter the Thales lot via Grand Rock Way, unless you are on foot. If you are dropping off Participants, move down to the Dropping Off Participants section. We do not find out the entry number until the day of the parade, so we will post it on Facebook at about 11:30 am on the day of the parade.

Bathroom: We are excited to announce that TDA has sponsored portable restrooms for the waiting area for parade participants. We are excited to have this for all of the participants and especially our youngest dancers as they wait for the parade to begin. We hope you all are just as excited as we are about this; as it is always a challenge for the dancers leading up to the parade

Pick Up: We suggest that parents follow along after you have seen your dancer dance in the Parade TDA Staff and Teacher Assistant will be corralling dancers in a big circle where the parade ends Parents, please pick up immediately and be on the lookout for the big crowd in tan shirts with their headbands on!

Parade Routine: CLICK HERE to access the TDA Traditional Parade Choreography! TDA Dancers on Monday Combo and up are welcome to dance in the parade with the parade routine taught in class; however, the parade route can be a little long for our little dancers. Our Creative Movement classes as well as Monday Combo dancers and families can decorate wagons for parents to pull your dancers in if you choose. If your child would rather walk, that’s fine, but we recommend a wagon because they do get tired on the walk.

Wagon Decorating Contest: Continuing on with tradition for The Dance Attic. Those dancers that have the option of decorating a Wagon for the parade will be up for a prize. All wagons that want to be considered for the prize will need to be on site by 12:30 sharp to be considered for one of the pirizes. We will be acknowledging a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place once TDA staff deliberates and chooses their winners. This is a tradition that we look forward to from year to year; and we cannot wait to see what creative "trends" you come up with this season!

What to Wear: We will wear our 2024-25 Tan TDA Shirts (with white turtlenecks underneath if it’s cold) If you or your dancer is dancing, you will need black dance-able pants/leggings and solid colored tennis shoes You will wear your hair in a middle part - mid head slick ponytail, and feel free to add makeup to make your dancer feel special All dancers will also wear their headband accessory received in November.

TDAC Reminders: Please be reminded that you will need to wear all of what was mentioned above, as well as your Black TDAC Jacket and your TDAC Earrings. We will finalize the order of the parade formation for our TDAC Dancers prior to the Parade Performance. Remember that the Parade is a required performance for all TDAC dancers.

TDA RECREATIONAL COMPETITION

Each year our studio participates in one local competition for our recreational dancers in Combo and Advanced Weekly Classes. This is a great opportunity for dancers of a certain age to experience performing and interacting with other dance studios. It is a very positive experience, and all of the dancers are rewarded for their hard work! When looking in JackRabbit; the class that has a “***” listed next to it in the system will be the dance/class that your dancer will compete with. This season, our studio will be competing at the Inspire Dance Competition on the weekend of March 7th-9th!

Inspire National Dance Competition

March 7th-9th

Dunn Performing Arts Center 3400 N Wesleyan Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804

TDA Recreational Competition Fees & Other Info: There will be a $75 competition fee per competing routine on your November Billing Statements. We have measured for and ordered our competition costumes in order for them to come in in time for our competition. More information about Costumes will be sent later in the year. Please go ahead and put these dates on your calendar (March 7th-9th) This is a requirement for all dancers to attend, because any dancer missing affects the entire routine. We will not know the specific days and times for each dancer until 7-10 days before the competition date. You will receive more info later in the year. Also, please note that all tuition and outstanding payments must be paid to receive your costumes and to participate in the competition. We look forward to our In House Convention on December 29th from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM! Get ready for an incredible day of dance and learning. All proceeds/profit from the event will go to support the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in honor of Brooklyn Boone, in connection with the work we’ve done with Maddie Austin and the Bolt for Brooklyn events in the past. The cost is $150 per dancer, and we must have at least 15 dancers registered to move forward. Registration is now open to all TDA Dancers as well as general public, so feel free to invite your friends to join us for a great cause. This is not in any way required, but we hope to have great representation from TDA. Would be a great Holiday gift for a dancer if you ask me! We look forward to the potential bonding experience for dancers throughout the community.
