REGISTRATION UPDATE

The Dance Attic is excited to have many of you already registered for the 2025-26 Dance Season! Below is a timeline of the registration process over the next few weeks. You will receive your schedules and placements for both Summer and Fall in mid-May. Please note that for Summer Classes, you will attend based on your 2025-26 class placements.

April 15th: All 2025-26 Registration Fees processed for students who did not send a courtesy email

May 1st: Last 2024-25 Recreational Tuition charge processed.

May 2nd: Parent Portal shut down for staff to post Summer and Fall class schedules and placements in each individual account.

Mid-May: Parent Portal reopens with class placements and schedules posted to your account. Once the portal reopens, we will send you instructions on how to make your class selections for Summer and Fall. Please note, when you open the portal in May, you will see all classes that you can be enrolled in for both sessions. This might feel a little overwhelming, but please remember, these are not all required classes or events We are simply providing you with the options so you can choose what you’d like to commit to for both the Summer and Fall sessions.

May 23rd: Deadline to complete the Class Selection Form for your registration group to indicate what classes you would like removed from both your Summer and Fall schedules. All dancers will receive an email specific to their registration group after the Portal reopens. Staff will place every dancer in every style for both Summer and Fall, so you can select your classes from that list. Please be reminded that Ballet and Jazz are required classes for any dancer registered for the Fall.

SUMMER & FALL SCHEDULES

CLICK HERE to access the 2025 TDA Summer Packet This is tentative and subject to change based on enrollment for the session. The Fall Schedule will be released in Mid-May with our Portal Re-Opening.

CLASS PLACEMENTS

Once updates have been completed by our staff, you’ll regain access to your Parent Portal. At that time, all students and families will be able to view class placements and schedules for both the upcoming Summer and Fall seasons. Please note that Summer class placements are based on your dancer’s 2025–2026 season level. TDA staff has carefully evaluated each dancer’s growth and progress, and placed them in the classes that best support their continued development, regardless of class number or title. We’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to kick off another incredible season at The Dance Attic!

POINTE

If you're hoping to add Pointe to your dancer’s schedule, please indicate your interest on the Class Selection Form linked above. You won’t see a Pointe class listed in your Jackrabbit portal right away don’t worry, that’s expected! Once forms are submitted, our ballet faculty will review responses and determine evaluation needs. Dancers who are new to Pointe and meet the eligibility requirements will be invited to attend a placement evaluation during our first Summer Intensive. If your dancer has previously been on Pointe and wishes to continue, just be sure to complete the form. We’ll then add the appropriate Pointe class to their schedule in Jackrabbit. We’re excited to support our dancers as they take this next step in their ballet training!

ACRO

We’re excited to expand our Acro offerings this summer with Miss Sophia working to build our dancers acro/tumbling skills. Acro will be part of our Monday Conditioning schedule for dancers placed in the older classes, giving dancers a consistent weekly opportunity to focus on their Acro training. We’re also excited to have Acro on the regular schedule with Miss Sophia throughout the season Pop-up classes and special sessions will be added during the summer, with more information coming soon!

The year is coming to an end and it’s time to start tying up those loose ends. The May 1st payment is your final payment of the year. Please check your records and make sure that you are up to date on all payments. Please pay all money owed with the May tuition payment, which is due by May 7th (without penalty fees). Any dancer whose account is not paid in full will not be allowed to dance in the recital. Please check the lost and found in the dressing room for anything that you may be missing (or anything you didn’t know that you were missing!) All items in the lost and found will be donated to Goodwill on June 1st. We recently had to service our sewer system due to flushed feminine products. Please remind dancers to wrap and place all products in the trash never in the toilet. Be sure to hold the handle down until the toilet fully flushes. Even though the year is coming to an end, we still expect our dancers to come to class with the correct dance clothes and shoes for that class Remember that there is always a little dancer looking up to you so it is important to set a good example and always dress appropriately If you are interested in auditioning for TDAC at this point, you will have to email info@thedanceattic com to see if there is space available in the audition TDAC Auditions will be held May 19th Those of you who have signed the TDAC Contract should have received information for this audition

MS. WANDA’S HOUSE ON THE MARKET

As many of you know, Ms. Wanda is preparing for a new chapter by the sea and will soon be relocating to her own little "Pixie Hollow" at the beach. As she gets ready to make this move, her beautiful home in Heritage Wake Forest is officially on the market. If you or someone you know is looking for a home in the area, please feel free to share or reach out for more details. Let’s help Ms. Wanda spread the word and find the next family to love her home as much as she has. We’re so excited for all that’s ahead for her and grateful for everything she’s poured into our TDA community.

To My Dear TDA Family (past and present), the word that comes to mind is bittersweet. For 37 years, I’ve had the incredible privilege of building a life surrounded by the most wonderful children, families, and staff members. What started as a passion quickly became an instant family, one that has grown and evolved through every season of my life. While 37 years could never be enough, I’m also deeply excited for what’s ahead in my retirement. It’s hard to put into words how much I’ll miss each and every individual who has walked through the doors of The Dance Attic, but I am endlessly grateful that you’ve all been part of my journey.

The Dance Attic has truly been my home, not just a studio, but a family in every sense of the word. As I take a step back, I do so with a full heart and complete confidence in the woman stepping forward. Hallie Hoy Pardo’s love for this studio runs deep. Everything she does is poured from her heart: her time, her energy, her passion, her joy, and yes, even her sweat and tears. She grew up within these walls, and her commitment to making dancers feel confident, supported, creative, and connected through the joy of dance is everything I ever hoped TDA would be. Hallie believes, as I always have, that dance is a privilege, not just a skill to be mastered, but a gift that teaches discipline, expression, community, and self-worth. And that belief shines through in everything she does. I truly could not have chosen a better person to pass the torch to. Hallie shares the same fire, the same purpose, and the same dream: to make TDA a place where dancers grow not only in talent, but in confidence and character.

Even though I’ll be spending more time by the coast, I will always be with you in spirit, cheering you on from afar and loving you all just the same. Hallie and I will still collaborate, hopefully from time to time, and I’ll always be here to offer a listening ear or a bit of advice when needed. As we celebrate this recital, I am filled with gratitude knowing that such an incredible woman will be guiding this next chapter. Your dance journeys are in the most passionate and capable hands.

To Hallie, they say do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life. I have watched you live that truth with grace, fire, and unwavering heart. I am so proud of who you are, what you bring to this studio, and the impact you are already making. I have always been in your corner, and I always will be. I cannot wait to watch where you take The Danc

With all my love, Ms. Wanda
