Addressing Questions & Concerns: If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at info@thedanceattic.com so we can address them appropriately. To maintain a professional and respectful environment, we ask that all private discussions be scheduled via email rather than addressed publicly in the lobby. We strive to maintain a kind and supportive atmosphere at TDA. Please ensure all conversations in shared spaces reflect the positive and nurturing environment we uphold

We kindly ask all parents to refrain from sending messages regarding The Dance Attic to our personal Facebook pages or by text message through our personal cell phones. It is much easier for us to keep track of communications through our business profiles and email. Additionally, please do not interrupt your dancer's class to speak with the instructor! If time permits, instructors may be available to have a quick conversation before or after their classes. You may also leave a note for them at the office desk and they will contact you as soon as possible.Thank you for your understanding and cooperation

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

At The Dance Attic, we want everyone—faculty, dancers, and families—to enjoy the dance season in a positive and supportive environment. Please see a list of general expectations to support our family in doing so.

1 We respect everyone! Treat others as you wish to be treated. Spread GOOD vibes only!

2.We show respect to ourselves, our peers, and our teachers at all times.

3 We come to class on time and prepared.

4.We do not enter the dance studio space unless we are a dancer or have been asked to do so by an instructor.

5 We do not run or engage in excessive horseplay in the studios, dressing rooms, or lobbies. Anyone not following this rule may be asked to leave.

6 We finish our snacks before entering the studio and do not chew gum in class.

7.We listen carefully to our teachers’ complete instructions before raising our hands for questions.

8.We are open to new ideas and feedback.

9 We communicate if we are injured or not feeling well.

10.We do not use our phones during class unless given permission.

11 We clean up after ourselves to keep our studio, bathrooms, and waiting rooms tidy. If you bring it in, take it out!

12.We are allowed to learn from our mistakes. Growth comes from effort and perseverance.

13 We walk into and out of the studio remembering that we are loved and free to be ourselves.

By following these expectations, we create a welcoming and inspiring space for all dancers. If staff has concerns with students adhering to these expectations, we will communicate with families, to make steps towards the common goal of having each dancer successful in every class. Let’s make this season amazing together!

Following the dress code helps create a professional and focused environment in class. We do not have required attire or colored leotards etc. for classes during the week.

Student Attendance

Attendance Policy

As with any hobby, skill, or class, attendance is vital to mastering and enjoying dance to the fullest! At TDA, you are part of a team with your classmates, and it’s important to be present for your team barring emergencies or extenuating circumstances. Please make every effort to attend class regularly. If a dancer is unable to participate physically, they may sit out and watch from the side to stay engaged and keep up with new choreography. Your commitment helps ensure a positive and successful experience for everyone in class!
