One of the Food & Beverage Team’s ongoing goals is to deliver outstanding service. Our reservation system has shown a marked improvement on Friday nights, and the member dining experience is getting smoother. More members are making reservations and honoring them by being seated at the time of their reservation.
We would ask if you wish to have cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before dinner, please plan to arrive 30-40 minutes earlier than your requested reservation time. This allows the team to offer a smooth evening to all Members and guests and lets the staff in both the front and back of the house properly prepare.
We appreciate and will always try to accommodate our walk-in guests as best we can in a timely manner; however, priority will always be given to those who make reservations and those who call ahead to ask about seating availability. Just as great restaurants do, we strive to pace our members and guests for a better flow of service. This improves the timing in the kitchen and minimizes delays. We strive to exceed your expectations and appreciate your support.
The Club’s service charge is 20%; however, for extraordinary service, you may add an additional tip under the “Extra Tip” category. Bon Appetit!

Coral Ridge Yacht Club had an amazing March! Hosting events like the Elvis Blue Hawaii evening, the St. Patrick’s Party, the annual fundraising dinner for the Sailing and Watersports Foundation, and an Easter event that brought a lot of joy and camaraderie to the Members. These events provided opportunities for Members to come together and support important causes within the Club. It’s wonderful to be part of such a vibrant community at CRYC!
With the approaching opening of “The Pointe,” CRYC has additional capacity to add more Members. Growing membership at CRYC can bring numerous benefits to the Club itself and its existing Members. The best source of New Members is your friends. Friends are the best way to fill the club with like-minded people. Here are some key values associated with expanding the membership of our yacht club:
Financial Stability:
Increased membership means more revenue through membership fees, event registrations, and other associated charges. This financial stability allows the Club to maintain and improve its facilities, organize events, and offer better services to members.
Diverse Community:
A larger membership base brings diversity to the Club community, both in terms of interests and backgrounds. This diversity enhances the overall social experience for Members and creates a more inclusive and dynamic atmosphere.
Enhanced Social Opportunities:
More Members mean a larger pool of individuals with whom to socialize, network, and share common interests. This can lead to a thriving social calendar with more events, parties, and gatherings, fostering a sense of camaraderie among Members.
Sustainability and Longevity:
A growing membership base contributes to the long-term sustainability of the Club. It helps ensure that the Club remains viable, relevant, and continues to thrive over the years.
Many thanks to those members that have referred New Members to CRYC. Our expected growth with the opening of “The Pointe” will allow us to increase joining fees in the future and determine when we should pause adding additional members.
Best regards,
T. Fred Roche Commodore“April showers bring May flowers,” and it’s time to spring into what’s blooming at the Club. I am happy to share that the Burgee Bar floor project was a success and we have heard nothing but rave reviews on how great it looks. We took the opportunity to paint as well which lightened and brightened up the room. Shout out to our Maintenance Director, Jeff Flynn, and Carlos for their handiwork!
Our ongoing commitment to our younger Members is evident from our second Kids’ Eat Free Night. We welcomed even more families than the first time and will continue to build the focus on friendships, fun, and feasting without the fuss. If you haven’t had the chance to attend one yet, mark your calendar for the next one on Thursday, April 4th.
Elvis Night was an absolute blast! I want to thank everyone who joined us in their finest luau attire and blue suede shoes to dance the night away. Your enthusiastic participation made it a truly memorable evening, with over 170 Members in attendance. Additionally, St. Patrick’s Day festivities brought together Members of all ages, with over 130 revelers gathering in the spirit of the Irish enjoying a pint or two of Guinness. It was a lively evening filled with laughter, live music, and camaraderie.
“Party with a Purpose” was met with overwhelming support, reaffirming the incredible impact the Coral Ridge Yacht Club Sailing & Water Sports Foundation has made not only in our Club but in the community of Fort Lauderdale. The tireless efforts of the committee, Starr Fisher, Roz Alford, Andrea Hellman, and Donna Wagoner led by P/C Robert Epstein is much appreciated and we thank everyone for your incredible generosity and supporting such a wonderful cause.
On April 13th, we’re transporting back in time for our “Decades Party - Reeling in the Years - 1960’s, 70’s, 80’s.” Dust off your retro outfit and join us for a nostalgic journey through the decades. And let’s not forget our next Wine Club Tasting event on April 18th, after which we take a break for the summer months until the September 19th tasting – so be sure to savor every sip and mingle with your fellow wine enthusiasts.
In closing, your feedback is always truly valued. Join me on Friday, April 12th at 12:00 PM for a monthly lunch and my ongoing invitation to “Noon with Nadine.” Limited to six members max (once per calendar year), per lunch. Please make a reservation with the Front Desk. Enjoy the express lunch buffet with my compliments. Cocktails will be by Member signature. Learn more about our Club operations, gain a deeper understanding of what goes on behind the scenes, or just come by to chat. Additionally, if there is anything you would like to share, please stop by and see me, leave a comment card online, send an email, or call me directly.
See you at the Club!

As we move into the warmer months, please remember our dress code and hat policies as they pertain to the Clubhouse. Hats, caps, or visors are not allowed to be worn inside the Clubhouse (even if you are walking through to the patios or pool deck). However, you can wear hats on the Auxiliary and Burgee Patios. Appropriate bathing suits and cover-ups for ladies and similar for gentlemen and children are permitted on the Auxiliary Patio and, of course, the pool deck dining tables. (No cheeky bottoms or sheer/fishnet cover-ups are permitted.) Please make sure to share the dress code with your family and friends when bringing them to the Club to prevent any awkward situations.

In our efforts to better serve our Auxiliary community, VP Judy Joseph has sent to all our Members a survey to assess our skills and interests. Thank you to those who have already responded. If you have not yet done so, please take a few minutes to complete and email it back. Our aim is, as always, to provide programming you enjoy, to take advantage of the skill sets within the organization, and to grow membership and friendships.
To that end, on February 29th, Auxiliary hosted a cocktail party on our Auxiliary Patio. What a wonderful turnout! Current and potential Members attended, socialized, and had the opportunity to sign up with our Fashion Show Committee. The November Fashion Show is our major fundraiser. We urge you to participate and contribute to its success.
Our March 20th Luncheon provided a double treat. We honored Auxiliary’s past presidents, whose hard work and dedication is so, so appreciated. THANK YOU! Our featured speaker, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, drew in a large crowd with her talk about her experiences in the cruise industry. What a great afternoon!
Our April 10th Auxiliary Luncheon, another exciting event, will feature Catarina Lopes Massa, of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, in Ithaca, NY. Her talk, “All About Birds,” will include those in our local area. Later that same day, at 5:30 pm, she will speak again at an Auxiliary and Family Bonus Event, which will be open to all Members, children aged eight and up, and guests.
Auxiliary will be sending notices regarding upcoming events; keep an eye out for them.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to our newest Members, Barbara Gehrig and Jess Saypoff. If you have not yet joined, contact Jodi Dumas at jodidumas@outlook.com or 610-417-3855. These events will fill up quickly. Please mark them on your calendar and call in your reservations!
Sincerely yours,
Ellen Landauer SecretaryAs I write this article we are all busy planning for the Party with a Purpose scheduled for March 23rd. This will be our fifth major fund-raising event and we anticipate the best one yet. As always it features a gourmet dinner, complimentary cocktails, a great silent auction, and entertainment and dancing. For those of you who attended, Thank You Very Much. For those who were unable to make it, we hope to see you at the event next March. Please remember, donations are always welcome and help us continue our good work yearround.
I am sure you have noticed the Donation Thermometer at the entrance to the clubhouse. We have a lofty goal of $100,000 for the year 2024. We are already on our way to achieving our goal and with the donations from the Party with a Purpose we hope to get a good start for 2024.
We are in the process of finalizing logistics for the Summer Sailing Camp, which benefits our members and the community as a whole. Last year we had about 40 participants in the program with about half of them receiving scholarships. Our partnership with the City of Ft. Lauderdale and LYC’s Foundation was very successful, and we will continue our partnership with them this year.
Our search continues for an additional 11’ Boston Whaler which will be used as a coach’s boat for the sailing program. We are also interested in purchasing a 14’ enclosed trailer to store our sailing and other equipment which can also be used to transport the Opti’s if necessary.
Once again, thank you very much to those of you who supported us by attending the Party with a Purpose and with your generous donations.
Bob Epstein, President - CRYC Sailing and Watersports FoundationAs the winds begin to lay down, more of us are looking forward to the outings we have planned on the water. It’s always a mix when the winds are high. It provides relief from the heat but sets up challenges for those of us who are currently traveling the seas. With sunny skies and more temperate weather, we took off for Biscayne Yacht Club with a healthy number of Cruisers to go along. These are the greatest trips when people can float down on their boats or drive down and get a hotel.
Up next is Faro Blanco with hosts Margaret Engkvist and Maribel Bunin. Get your reservations going. People are competing for spots in marinas, so your efforts to secure dockage is imperative now. Looking beyond to Cape Canaveral, there are still limited slips for smaller boats and still some hotel space. The clock is running, so again, book your trip!
Lacaya Yacht Club is our centerpiece this summer as we all begin to plan out our trips.
We have been talking the Abacos. It’s quite different heading north instead of south as there is a wonderful national park and fun places to anchor on to the ball and watch the sea turtles. There are towns that have withstood hurricanes of devastating proportions, which have rebuilt and continued to party on in traditional Bahamian style. Think Hope Town, Pete’s Pub and Nippers. The Cheeseburger In Paradise party on Green Turtle is a unique event that can only be attended by boat. The Lacaya Yacht Club has a beautiful olympic size pool, a covered outdoor bar and restaurant, as well as their clubhouse which is where we are set to party once again. Nearby are hotels and restaurants that are very reasonable, and let’s not forget the dolphin experience.
Lastly, I want to thank Ramona Fowler for all of her hard work on creating a magnificent trip to Biscayne Yacht Club. It is the people within our group who can take on a mission and manage the whole thing independently. Her perseverance and resolve is what made this trip one for the memory book.
Kate Nelson ChairAs we sail through the month of March, it’s time to anchor our attention on the heart of our community - our weekly Wednesday lunches. These weekly gatherings are the anchor of our camaraderie, where bonds strengthen over shared meals and lively conversations.
Our Club boasts a diverse membership, with a wealth of boating experience and insight. From seasoned sailors to novices, everyone brings something unique to the table, enriching our discussions and deepening our connections. Whether you’re a longtime member or new to the crew, your presence adds immeasurable value to our community. So mark your calendars and join us every Wednesday at noon for another opportunity to celebrate the bonds that make the Captains’ Club truly special.
Because so many of our Members are relatively new to Fort Lauderdale, I invited a very special speaker for our April 3rd Luncheon. Come discover the roots of our city and its relationship with the waters surrounding it in this informative presentation given by Patricia Zeiler, Executive Director of History Fort Lauderdale. You don’t want to miss this one. Make sure to reserve your seats today.
With the growth of our New Members, we would like to remind you of our Kid’s Club program. It is an opportunity for parents and grandparents to enjoy a relaxing evening on property while their children have a great time under CRYC adult supervision.
The Kid’s Club is open every Friday, starting at 6 PM, and offers a range of engaging activities and services for our young members three and older (must be potty trained). To ensure that all our Members can partake in the joy of Kid’s Club nights, we kindly request that you make reservations for our Kid’s Club by 3 PM each Friday. Reservations can be made on the app or by calling the Club directly.
For just $29 per child ($34 for non-member children), our dedicated CRYC coaches will provide a fun-filled experience for your children. They will be entertained with a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, crafts, games, and even enjoy movie time. To ensure your child’s satisfaction, we will also provide a delicious pre-set buffet dinner.
In addition, we have a special treat for you. Whenever you see Sebastian the Seahorse on our adult-based party invitations, it means that the Kid’s Club will be available on that night. So, you can plan your evening knowing that your children will be in safe hands and having a blast.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 28, from 2-5 PM, as we have an exciting event lined up for families. Get ready for a wild time with an amazing animal show. Stay tuned for more details on this thrilling event coming soon.
We hope you take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to enjoy some quality time for yourself while your children are entertained and cared for at the Kid’s Club. It’s a win-win situation for everyone!
The CRYC Fit Club had a blast at the Lexus Corporate Run last month!
We dashed through the streets of Las Olas, proudly sporting our CRYC logo T-shirts. A big shoutout to Deanna Greenlaw, our “Seed Racer” and CRYC Fit Club Chair, and new member Steve Gordon for their impressive performance, both completing the 5k in under 28 minutes! Congratulations to our amazing team for representing CRYC!
Join us for the next CRYC Fit Club Event – as we get fit TOGETHER!

Bright and shiny copper in color, the aroma is elegant with fine, clean fruit notes of pears and apples and a luxurious ripeness. The mouth-feel is vibrant and has lovely spiciness and a rich texture with fine tannins. It is livened up by nice acidity and a classic minerality and salinity. This dry rosé is very savory and has a long finish with creamy yeast and delicate chalk notes. This may be the most food-friendly summer in a bottle to date and is certainly the perfect summer wine.

Bottle $45
2020 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon displays red cherry, baked strawberry, and vanilla aromas with hints of fig and coffee bean. This medium-to-full bodied wine showcases a rich mix of berry, chocolate, and buttery caramel flavors set against a backdrop of toasted oak; all leading to a seamless, long finish of currant, blueberry, and warm oak.

Hilarious and irreverent describe our next book, An Elderly Lady Is Up To No Good, by Helene Tursten.
Please join our facilitator, Jodi Dumas, on Friday, April 12, 2024, for a lively discussion on MURDER, knowing the blood is fake and the victims are figments of the author’s lively imagination.
For a twist on the genre, read these short stories revolving around an octogenarian protagonist named Maud. Ever since the death of her father, Maud has lived in the family’s spacious apartment rent free. Now, Maud contends herself with travel and watching television. This bold lady will handle a crisis, foil the engagement of her long-ago lover, and handle some pesky neighbors in a very unusual way. But when the local authorities are called to investigate a dead body found in Maud’s apartment, will Maud finally become a suspect?
Please make reservations at the front desk, and, at that time, make your lunch selection from the variety of sandwiches (egg salad, tuna salad, or chicken salad) on white, wheat or rye bread. A Cobb salad is also available. Lunch is promptly at 12 noon when the book discussion begins.
