Meet the project team

You won't be meeting a new team on Day One of this project - you'll be welcoming back familiar faces.

HAVING A SUCCESSFUL PROJECT STARTS WITH THE RIGHT TEAM

The team we’re proposing has worked together on multiple City of Frisco projects, and they’ll be with you from preconstruction through final turnover. That continuity matters. It means less onboarding, smoother coordination, and a team that already understands your standards, expectations, and how the City operates. Led by Rocky, our team brings deep experience with Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery. They know how to evaluate constructability early, navigate design development, and keep projects moving efficiently. Most importantly, they know how to listen — and act — when challenges arise.

OUR STORY ABOUT US

Our story began in 1977 with our founder, the late Ivan Crossland, Sr., lovingly known as ‘Red Iron’. He started Crossland Construction out of the family garage with a wife and ten kids at home. His optimism, integrity, work ethic, and grit led him to success in every endeavor. His story became the embodiment of The American Dream, but more importantly, it continues to inspire us every day.

Today, we are humbled by our continued growth over the years. Still family-owned and operated, we have expanded to four companies, nine office locations, over 1500 dedicated employees, and rank in the top 100 construction firms in the nation. We continue to serve under Ivan Sr.’s belief that if you dream big, remain humble, and work hard - great things are possible.

FOUR COMPANIES. One Family.

Owners (from l to r): Bennie Crossland, Mike Crossland, Ivan Crossland, Jr., Curt Crossland, and Patrick Crossland

We had a unique start, which explains a lot about us.

Ask any one of our 1900+ employees what our founder, Ivan Crossland, Sr., stood for—every single one would say family, honesty , and hard work.

WE THINK THAT SAYS A LOT. THOSE VALUES ARE ENGRAINED IN EVERYTHING WE DO.

In loving memory of our founder, Ivan “Red Iron” Crossland, Sr.

We Have The Numbers

TO BACK IT UP.

We’re proud to be ranked among the top builders in the nation — but we know it’s not just about the numbers. It’s about the people behind the work, and the results we deliver for our clients every day.

CULTURE

SO, HOW DOES OUR CULTURE IMPACT YOU?

Real People. Real Purpose. Real Builders.® is more than a slogan. It is what we’re about, how we work, and what we deliver. However, we know that a successful project is as much about our attitude and how we work with you, as it is about the project itself. Quite simply, we firmly believe that the right culture will naturally produce committed and happy employees who, in return, will deliver outstanding service and create satisfied clients and partners for life.

Real People

.

We believe our people are the best in the business. We’re experienced construction managers and skilled tradespeople by day, mentors, coaches, and neighbors by night. We’re proud to build the communities where we live, thrive, and volunteer.

Real Purpose.

We share a deep sense of purpose and a wholehearted commitment to our customers and their unique visions. Our passion for construction is grounded in our culture and pulses through our halls. We’re driven by our core values - trust, responsibility, integrity, and passion - and the desire to make a difference.

Real Builders.

Crossland understands the advantages of digging in and getting our hands dirty. We hang more steel, pour more concrete, and move more dirt than most of our competitors. More than managers, you’ll find us in the trenches, working to drive the schedule and bring unparalleled value to our customers.

we look out for one another

WE WORK SAFELY, BECAUSE OUR MOST IMPORTANT JOB IS AT HOME.

The success of Crossland Construction’s safety program is proven in our numbers. Crossland’s annual safety record is twice as good in performance as the industry average — a record more astounding considering we have more construction hours than most due to our self-performance capabilities. Building Active Spaces That Bring Communities Together

Parks, trails, rec centers, and green spaces do more than improve a neighborhood — they give people a place to connect, move, and unwind. These projects are often personal, high-visibility, and built with the community in mind, and that’s exactly how we approach them.

We work closely with cities, architects, and community stakeholders to bring shared spaces to life. We pay attention to what matters, accessibility, safety, long-term maintenance, and making the most of every dollar. Whether it’s playgrounds, splash pads, walking paths, or public pavilions, we build with care and purpose.

Our team knows how to manage logistics, coordinate public access, and keep things moving without disruption. We’re here to help you create a space that’s welcoming, sustainable, and ready to serve your community for years to come.

pre-construction benefits of

THE PRELIMINARY PLANNING PHASE: LAYING THE GROUNDWORK FOR A SUCCESSFUL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

The information gathered during the Pre-Construction phase is truly invaluable. In this phase, we clearly define the project’s scope, schedule, and cost, making sure that everyone is on the same page.

LET’S BUILD SOMETHING GREAT — TOGETHER

Working collaboratively, we will listen, evaluate, and educate you to ensure you receive the best product for your construction dollar. Our best estimators and project managers provide and explain take-offs, pricing, and projections for every aspect of your project. The project executive and project manager you work within Pre-Construction will carry over to construction, ensuring a smooth transition and strong partnership from start to finish.

MAXIMIZING YOUR BUDGET

Pre-Construction estimating helps to make sure your plans and budget are in sync and provides opportunities to make any necessary adjustments. Because we put work in place, we have both the knowledge and expertise to make sure you are receiving the best value for your construction dollar. Through our collaborative approach, you can make informed decisions. Architects can understand the cost of monumental design elements and design with confidence.
