CLUBS QLD AWARDS
In a remarkable achievement for North Queensland, Cowboys Leagues Club recently celebrated a fantastic victory at the 2025 Clubs Queensland Awards, standing out amongst clubs across the state. We are incredibly proud to have received the following accolades:
• Responsible Gambling Practices Award Winner
• Responsible Service of Alcohol Award Winner
• Best Gaming (Large) in Queensland Finalist - Top 3 in QLD
• Best Café in Queensland Award Finalist - Top 3 in QLD
• Heart of the Community Award Finalist - Top 3 in QLD
• Best Chef in Queensland Award Finalist Thomas Martyn - Top 5 in QLD
These prestigious awards recognise excellence within Queensland’s club industry and were presented at a ceremony attended by over 1,000 guests at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
Cowboys Leagues Club General Manager, Clint Williams, expressed his immense pride in the Club’s recognition among the state's best.
“For the Club to not only win but also be named as finalists in these highly respected awards is an extraordinary achievement for our team. It’s something the entire North Queensland community can take immense pride in. A massive thank you to all our members and guests for their continued support!” Clint shared.
The awards are based on strict criteria, including mystery judge visits. The Queensland Government Office of Liquor & Gaming also plays a key role in recognising clubs that comply with all responsible gambling and alcohol legislation, as well as those that go above and beyond in looking after their patrons.
Operations Coordinator Jen Unwin highlighted the significance of these awards in showcasing the Club’s commitment to safe gambling practices.
“To win both the Responsible Gambling Practices Award and Responsible Service of Alcohol Award is a powerful reflection of our dedication to providing a safe and supportive environment for all our members and guests,” Jen explained.
“Safety and compliance are central to everything we do, ensuring we not only meet but exceed the expectations of our patrons. These awards validate that commitment.”
Executive Chef Thomas Martyn also shared his pride in the Club’s recognition, particularly the Best Chef nomination.
“While I’m truly honoured to be a finalist for the Best Chef in Queensland Award, this recognition is really a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire catering team,” Thomas said.
“We’re all committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences, and I couldn’t be more proud of the team. Ultimately, we wouldn’t be where we are without the unwavering support of our loyal members and guests, and for that, we are sincerely grateful.”
