Oktoberfest at 4 Wing

Get ready to raise your steins and embrace the festive spirit of fall as 4 Wing Cold Lake invites you to join in on the annual Oktoberfest celebration! On September 21st, the base will come alive with the sights, sounds, and tastes of traditional German culture.

Dinner and Dancing: Prost to Good Times!

As the evening sets in, the festivities shift to an event filled with authentic German cuisine, live music, and dancing. Traditional Bavarian dishes such as rindsgulasch, bratwurst with sauerkraut, pretzels, and more, will be served alongside refreshing beverages, including beer and cider. The evening will feature live entertainment of an authentic German band, and whether you’re in lederhosen, a dirndl, or your favorite casual attire, come ready to enjoy the vibrant culture and energy that Oktoberfest brings!

A Special Connection with Germany

For 4 Wing Cold Lake and the broader Canadian Forces community, Oktoberfest is more than just a celebration; it symbolizes the deep and longstanding ties between our community and Germany. The Oktoberfest festivities help to celebrate 4 Wing and its connection to Germany through the former CFB Baden-Söllingen. In 1993, 4 Wing stood down at CFB Baden-Söllingen in Germany and re-established at CFB Cold Lake. This celebration is a wonderful opportunity to bring a piece of that shared heritage to Cold Lake.

Join the Fun

Don’t miss out on this year’s Oktoberfest at 4 Wing Cold Lake. Whether you’re savoring delicious German fare, or enjoying the lively entertainment, this event is a celebration of community, tradition, and international camaraderie.
