Christmas bragging rights up for grabs

Two local businesses will battle it out for Christmas superiority this month. by CHRIS WARD Davidson Cameron and Co and Forsyths Accounting are challenging each other to a “Christmas off’’ and a re en co u ra g i n g oth e r Coonabarabran businesses to join in. The two local businesses will decorate the inside and out of their office spaces

in a competition for who can demonstrate the most Christmas spirit. Jane McWhi r ter, from Davidson Cameron and Co, said she was confident i n out- Ch r istmasi ng he r opponents. “We are obviously going to put up a lot of decorations, but that’s not all that we’re

going to do,” she explained. “For one hour a week we are going to provide the chance to come in and get Christmas photos with our tree in the background. “I’ve also spoken to Santa a n d h e m i g ht even b e making an appearance for the photos!” “They obviously won’t be

the quality of professional photos, but I’m not sure anywhere else in town does them, so we wanted to be able to offer it to the kids in the Shire.” Mrs McWhirter said. The Forsyths team caught wind of the idea and have adopted the same plan. Ch r i s tmas photos at

both shop fronts will be a gold coin donation, with all proceeds donated to a charity. Most importantly for the two businesses - they hoped the Christmas spirit would spread. “We really want to see other businesses getting i nvo l ved,” sa id And rew

Freebairn, of Forsyths. “How good would it be to see the main street all decorated for Christmas? “We’ve had a couple of tough years - so let’s try and bring some positivity out.” To organise your Christmas photos, call Davidson and Cameron on 6842 1177, or Forsyths on 6842 0000.

Jane McWhirter and the team from Davidson Cameron and Co, Sharon Russell and Mandy Edwards, will lock horns with Carolyn Dowling and the team from Forsyths in a “Christmas off”.
