Coona Times shines: recognition at Country Press Awards The Coonabarabran Times continues to punch above its weight in the newspaper industry, being recognised in two categories at the annual Country Press NSW Awards of Excellence on Friday, 18 October. Kait said she clearly remembers the day the photo was taken. “I was lying down on the itchy grass in front of the first tee, trying the line up the shot, but Mr Wilkin was also trying to line up a shot – he was pretty eager to tee off! “But it was a fun morning, and it was heartwarming to see the high regard in which Mr Wilkin is held by his fellow golfers.” The recognition at the Countr y Pres s N SW Awa rd s h i g h l i g ht s th e Co o n a b a r a b r a n T i m e s’ o n g o i n g dedication to quality journalism and its ability to cover significant local and national issues with creativity and insight. “We rema i n com m it ted to d e l i ve r i n g i m p a ct f u l s to r i es t h at resonate with our readers,” Kait said. “With a strong focus on both serious issues like the Voice to Parliament and lighter moments like Bill Wilkin’s 100th bi r thday celeb ration, the Coona Times continues to demonstrate its value as a vital voice in regional media and in the community in which we serve.”
