wreath-laying ceremony and the unveiling of the centenary plaque. Ritchie Milgate gave the Welcome to Countr y and Baradine RSL secretary, Brad Edwards paid tribute to the community members of 1925 who first envisioned the hall as a living memorial to the district’s servicemen.

“On this day each year, we gather to honour the courage, sacrifice and service of the men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform,” Mr Edwards said. “ We pa use to g eth e r in g ratitude to remember those who did not return, to a ck n ow l ed g e th ose w h o s e r ve d a n d ca m e h o m e

fo reve r chang ed, and to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of them. “However, this year, our service carries an extra layer of significance. On this day, exactly 100 years ago, the fo u n d a t i o n s to n e o f t h e Baradine Memorial Hall was laid.”
