Warrambul Warruwi Sky River Path officially opens

A show to remember

Local people gathered at Coonabarabran’s Neilson Park on Saturday, 15 March, to celebrate the official opening of the Warrambul Warruwi Sky River Path, a project years in the making that enhances public access to the Castlereagh River while embedding cultural and environmental storytelling into the landscape. The path is par t of the Castlereagh River Rehabilitation Project and was made possible by a substantial $ 8 9 9, 0 0 0 g r a n t from the Austral ian Government’s MurrayDarling Healthy Rivers Program.

The funding has enabled significant river rehabilitation effor ts, including the planting of thousands of native species, the removal of invasive weeds and the improvement of eight kilometres of riverbank. One of the key figures
