POSITION OVERVIEW
TheAssistantGeneralManager(AGM)at CavalierGolf&YachtClubispivotalin ensuringtheClub’soperationalandservice excellenceacrossmultipledepartments, includingclubhouseoperations,foodand beverage,housekeeping,maintenance,and security.ReportingdirectlytotheGeneral Manager,theAGMisresponsiblefor creatingandmanagingbudgets,staffing plans,operationalprocedures,andlongtermstrategiestomeettheclub’sgoals. Thisroleoverseesdepartmentheadssuch astheFoodandBeverageDirector, ExecutiveChef,andrestaurantmanagers, ensuringalignmentwithfinancialtargets andservicestandards TheAGMisan integraladministrativelinkbetween departments,fosteringcollaborationand innovationwhileaddressingmember satisfaction,safety,andfacilityneeds Asa derandmentor,theAGMplansand rdinatesstafftrainingandprofessional elopment,enforcesclubpolicies,and activelyresolvesmemberand ployeeconcerns.Intheabsenceofthe eralManager,theAGMservesastheir esentative,ensuringseamless tinuityofoperations
JOBTASKSANDDUTIES
Creates/modifiesbudgets,staffing,generaloperation procedures,andotherplansfortheclubhouse,housekeeping, foodandbeverage,maintenanceandrepair,andsecurity departments
Monitorsthebudgetanddirectscorrectiveactionproceduresas necessarytohelpensurethatbudgetgoalsareattainedin his/hersuperviseddepartments.
OverseestheFoodandBeverageDirector,ExecutiveChef, restaurantmanagers,andstafftoensureoptimalserviceand overseesthedepartment'sfinancials
Functionsasanadministrativelinkbetweendepartmentsand monitorsinternalcostprocedures
Plansandcoordinatestrainingandprofessionaldevelopment programsforhimselforherselfwithstaff. Workscloselywithtenuredepartmentheads.
AssiststheGeneralManagerindevelopingandimplementing long-rangestrategicandannualbusinessplans,operating reports,forecasts,andbudgets
Monitorsafetyconditionsandemployees'conformancewith safetyprocedures;updateemergencyplansandproceduresand ensurethateffectivetrainingfortheseprogramsisconductedin alldepartments
HandlesincoordinationwiththeGeneralManageremergency preparednessrelatedtoCoastalWeatherconditionsofVirginia (hurricanes,coastalflooding,etc.).
Maintainscontactwithmembersandhelpsassuremaximum membersatisfaction.
ReceivesandresolvescomplaintsfromtheClub’smembers, guests,andemployees
Interactswithmembers,answeringquestions,solvingproblems, overseeingservicesandcleanliness.
AssuresthattheClub’spreventivemaintenanceandenergy managementprogramsandmasterplanareonscheduleandin use
Assistinplanningfacilityimprovements,remodeling,construction, andrepair,andinteractwithapplicableclubcommitteesforthis purpose.
JOBTASKSANDDUTIES
Participatesinongoingfacilityinspectionsthroughouttheclubto ensurethatcleanliness,maintenance,safety,andotherstandards areconsistentlyattained.
Servesasanadhocmemberofappropriateclubcommittees. Mayserveasdepartmentalmanagerinthatmanager’sabsence. Attendsmanagementandstaffmeetingsasscheduled Counselwithothermanagersandemployeesaboutgrievancesand complaints;directproblemcorrectioninconjunctionwithHuman Resources.
Monitorslabor;Evaluatesscheduleandlaborhoursandcosts.
Researchnewprojectsanddevelopananalysisoftheircostsand benefits
Overseesdailycluboperations
Accidentpreventionandworkswithsecurityoncompletingincident reports.
ActsasProjectManageronprojectswiththedirectionoftheGeneral Manager.
ReceivesadvicefromtheGeneralManageraboutdevelopingand revisingclubbylawsandpolicies;consistentlyenforcesallpoliciesto thebestoftheirabilityanddocumentsmemberincidents
Workswithhumanresourcesdepartmentstafftodeveloplong-term staffingneedsfortheclubhouse,includingtheFoodandBeverage department,whichincludeshiring,evaluatingandterminating. Workswithdepartmentheadstoplanprofessionaldevelopment programsforapplicablestaffandensuresthatalllegalrequirements (federal,state,andlocal)areconsistentlyfiled
Mayperformclubhouseopeningandclosingduties,including security-relatedduties.
Recruitsforandmanagestheclub’sinternshipprogramandis responsibleformanagingandoperatingemployeeareas
Monitorsemployeeandmemberdresscodesasapplicablewithin eachdepartment
Conductstrainingandothermeetingswithdepartmentstaff. CompletesotherappropriateassignmentsmadebytheGeneral Manager.

CANDIDATEQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’sdegreefromafour-yearcollegeoruniversity HospitalityManagementmajorpreferred.
MemberofClubManagersAssociationofAmerica(CMAA)andother professionalassociations.
ACertifiedClubManager(CCM)designationthroughCMAAorinthe currentpursuitofthisdesignationisdesirable
Sixormoreyearsofrelatedexperience,withthreeormoreyearsasan executivemanager.
Substantialprivatecluborhospitalityindustryexperiencewith managementandsupervisoryexperienceandprogressiveprofessional advancement.
