Student Cardholder Agreement

Please carefully read the Student Cardholder Agreement. It constitutes a legal obligation between you and Concordia University. Overview

As you read this Student Cardholder Agreement (the “Agreement”), remember that the words “you” and “your” refer to the person named on the Concordia ID card. All cardholders are bound by the terms of this Agreement. For greater clarity, by requesting a Concordia ID card at Concordia University (“Concordia” “we”, “our”), you agree to and accept all of the Agreement, as applicable.The Agreement is subject to change by Concordia from time to time and without notice. Future changes will become effective and will apply to all Concordia ID cards in circulation at the time the amended Agreement is posted on the Card Services website and will supersede the previous Agreement in effect at the time you acquired your Concordia ID card. Be sure to review the Agreement regularly 1. About the Concordia ID Card The Concordia ID card is your official identification piece at Concordia and is valid for 4 years. It is managed by Card Services and allows students to access facilities and services on Concordia premises, as well as certain off-campus student pricing. The use of the Concordia ID card is governed by the present Agreement and Concordia’s policies and procedures, as they may exist from time to time. Further information about the Concordia ID card can be found at the following website: Concordia.ca/card. 2. Use and Ownership of the Concordia ID Card Your Concordia ID card remains the property of Concordia and must be presented to campus authorities upon request. Your Concordia ID card is not transferable, and you are responsible for any/all use of the card, including but not limited to library items borrowed and charges applied. Using another person’s Concordia ID card, or altering, falsifying, selling or tampering with a Concordia ID card, is prohibited and subject to sanctions, pursuant to Concordia’s policies and procedures, and may also be subject to civil or criminal proceedings. You may not use your Concordia ID card to commit or facilitate any illegal, improper, or unlawful purposes or acts or otherwise in a manner that contravenes this Agreement. 3. Obtaining a Concordia ID Card There are two ways to process a request for a Concordia ID card. Depending on your choice, one of the two subsections below shall apply. i) Image Upload Terms and Conditions (if applicable) General Provisions The Concordia ID card photo upload tool (the “Portal”) allows you to upload a chosen photo of yourself to be used for your Concordia ID card. For further information on what constitutes an acceptable photo, please refer to Concordia.ca/card and the admissible photo guidelines. In addition to your chosen photo, you will need to upload a digital copy of your government-issued photo ID, which will be used by Card Services to verify your identity and to validate the chosen photo submitted to produce your Concordia ID card. By uploading your photo ID through the Portal, you are agreeing to the present section 3 i) (Image Upload Terms and Conditions). Please note the Portal:

Cannot be used to renew or replace a Concordia ID card Temporary Storage on the Cloud Once uploaded through the Portal, your chosen photo and government issued photo ID are securely stored in an encrypted format on a third-party cloud-based storage until the verification step for your Concordia ID card is completed by Card Services. The duration of the verification process may vary, however, once approved, your chosen photo and government-issued photo ID are automatically destroyed and no copy is retained in the third-party cloud that was used to produce your Concordia ID card. Temporary Storage on the Cloud Once uploaded through the Portal, your chosen photo and government issued photo ID are securely stored in an encrypted format on a third-party cloud-based storage until the verification step for your Concordia ID card is completed by Card Services. The duration of the verification process may vary, however, once approved, your chosen photo and government-issued photo ID are automatically destroyed and no copy is retained in the third-party cloud that was used to produce your Concordia ID card. Accepted Government Issued Photo ID Accepted government issued photo ID include a valid passport, driver’s license, provincial/state ID card with photo, provincial health card with photo, Canadian asylum seeker document, or permanent resident card. Note identification cards issued by high schools, post-secondary institutions, or hospitals are not considered government issued.
