Pr oduced in Gypsum, Colorado, Vintage Woods’ custom products fit a variety of sizes and designs, unlike any other reclaimed wood, with a proprietary process artfully aging the appearance as time passes. It’s the culmination of years of traditional finishing processes working together with the wood’s existing colors, tannins and textures to create something truly unique, beautiful and natural looking.

Architects, builders, designers and homeowners utilize our beautiful, versatile and durable products that are perfect for both interior and exterior applications.

HEAT MODIFIED WOODS

Baking custom-finished woods to 400 degrees makes an incredibly stable, insect- and rot-resistant final product that minimizes cupping and shrinking.

Ideal for both interior and exterior, where low maintenance and durability are desired, they can be finished in any of the Vintage Woods colors or a custom finish to match any décor!

The wood’s natural characteristic keeps homes cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, as well as exceptional Class-B fire safety rating and protection from other hazards such as earthquakes, high winds and hail. Since new trees can be planted, harvested, and replanted, wood products are renewable and environmentally friendly.

Adding longevity, the custom, non-toxic sealer’s unique formula waterproofs by absorbing deeply into the surface to form a flexible polymer barrier, becoming part of the cellular structure to prevent effects of mold and mildew, dry rot, cracking, peeling, and cupping of wood.

FLAME

Exceeding both the California and WUI Fire Ratings, Flame Repel Class-A fire-rated wood resists the spread of fire. Treated with an environmentally safe, non-toxic formula, as well as pressure-treated for fire resistance through the product’s useful life, the product also undergoes accelerated weathering tests to ensure the durability of the treated exterior. The process utilizes safe amounts of energy and water, and all the chemicals are recycled. Available in all of our beautiful finishes, Heat Modified materials look and act just like natural wood.

cladding and siding make up the exterior surface, or façade, of the building. Siding is applied directly, while cladding attaches indirectly, via furring strips, to create ventilation, drainage and water-resistive barrier. Siding may be nailed directly to something like a foam board, and the space left between the cladding and barrier dovetails with rainscreen systems. Our product may be installed over rainscreen systems directly or over standard barrier wraps.

is a layer of material placed over a surface. It gives the appearance to floors, walls, façades, interiors, plateaus, baseboards and planters in both aesthetic and functional ways. Architectural cladding comes in two general types • interior and exterior • with many varieties used on fascia boards, gutters and eaves. It’s used on soffits, which are located on the downward-facing surfaces underneath the fascia. Trim edging material, including around windows and doors, can also be made up of cladding.

MAINTENANCE

“Low maintenance” does not mean “no maintenance.” Vintage Woods Sealer is a non-toxic product designed for use on unsealed wood surfaces. It absorbs deeply into the surface forming a flexible polymer that becomes part of the wood’s cellular structure. This enhanced cellular structure resists water penetration to a remarkable degree helping prevent cracking, splitting or warping. Vintage Woods Sealer can be used on all types of wood, both hard and soft species. Order Vintage Woods premium quality interior/exterior wood treatment by one- or five-gallon bucket to fit your maintenance needs.

The Vintage Woods approach, developed by founder, Nick Swanepoel, brings your concepts to life. After two decades of painting and hand-plastering the finest custom homes and commercial projects, he put a fresh spin on generations-old Dutch techniques fueled by curiosity and a desire to combine these traditions with modern technology.

“Vintage Woods came from the idea of enhancing the natural characteristics of wood to give it a sense of history,” said Swanepoel. “To avoid losing the wood’s beauty, our techniques put the beauty back into the wood to make it look like it is supposed to • natural. Clients want the aged look, which is a patina, but you just can’t get that with stains. They don’t penetrate deeply into the wood.”

After analyzing and fine-tuning, Swanepoel successfully combined Old-World beauty with modern techniques, resulting in products unlike any other on the market.
