Happy New Year!

We wish you and your families the best in 2021 and look forward to another great year of golf at ppCC! it’s that time of year again when we all have lists of resolutions we wish to accomplish during the new Year. Your professional Staff has come up with some simple resolutions regarding the game of golf we strongly encourage you to consider. i’m not talking about the latest equipment or swing change (even though we have multiple demo days in January and February; we hope you join us!) no, i’m talking about simple practices that every golfer should be aware of every time they play. in fact, if everyone was mindful, our greens would be smoother, our tees and fairways healthier, and more of your putts would find the hole. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS SHORT

LIST OF OUR PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP INITIATIVES.

• i resolve to find my ball mark on the green and fix it properly, every time, even if i park far away from where my shot landed. if your ball hits the front of the green, make sure to find the ball mark and fix it.

• i resolve to fill all my divots and any others i see in overseeded areas, every time, even on par-3 teeing grounds.

• i resolve to maintain my pace of play at 3 hours and 45 minutes or less and keep up with the group in front of me regardless of where the group behind me is.

• i resolve to always keep my golf cart a minimum of 30 yards from greens, exiting fairways to the cart path side of the green before the ropes in the fairways (carts with handicap flags must always remain 15 yards from greens and off of greenside mounds).

• i resolve to always keep my pushcart a minimum of 15 feet from greens and off aprons and collars. pushcarts should never be taken between greenside bunkers and the putting surface. Rather, they should be taken around the outside edge of greenside bunkers.

• i resolve to post my score every time i play in accordance with the ppCC Handicap Committee policies and procedures.

• And finally, i resolve to make all of the above a part of my golf game every time i play.

We thank you for doing your part by embracing these simple guidelines, so we can continue to enjoy the exceptional playing surfaces and golf experience you have come to expect at ppCC. Thank you for respecting the game, respecting the course and respecting each other.

We also hope you resolve to improve your golf game this year, so you can shoot lower scores and have more FUn! To help facilitate this, Director of instruction, Karen Davies, and our professional Staff have laid out a comprehensive instruction program to help you achieve your goals. We offer opportunities for players of all ages, levels, and abilities to get help with their games. please see a Member of the professional Staff for more details.

The new Year also brings the beginning of tournament play at ppCC with the return of our season-long ladies and Men’s Foursomes Match play and Couples Four-Ball Match play.

exCepTiOnAl lADieS PINNACLE HIGH GIRLS GOLF TEAM WON BIG AT PINEHURST

Sharpened their games here at Pinnacle Peak Country Club pinnacle peak CC offers a unique program for high school golfers intended to give excelling local juniors the opportunity to further develop their games through the complimentary use of our golf course and practice facilities.

The High School Merit Scholar program recently saw tremendous success with the pinnacle High School girls golf team winning their first ever Arizona State Championship over perennial favorites xavier prep, who had not lost since 2010!

The win earned them an invitation to the 2020 High School Golf national invitational in pinehurst where they did not disappoint by winning the national championship! The team was comprised of pinnacle peak Member lexi pelle and ppCC Merit Scholar recipients Kyla Wilde, Katie Stinchcomb, Sydney Seigel and Carolyn Fuller. They are all exceptional young women and grateful for the opportunity our Club and Members have afforded them.

We look forward to another great year of golf and friendships. it’s been so wonderful to see our members returning to the Valley and reconnecting with friends. i think most of us have become movie and netflix junkies as well as bakers and chefs.

if you haven’t played with our group, and would like to join the WGA, please sign up in the Golf Shop. We are tons of fun, and it doesn’t matter how high your handicap may be. That’s the beauty of golf; handicaps make it possible for everyone to participate.

There is a friendly face riding around the golf course at ppCC. Meet four-year-old english labrador, Ranger! He belongs to Barry nyquist, our Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Ranger is no stranger when it comes to golf courses. He makes riding in the back of a golf course maintenance cart look easy as he balances on his four legs. Ranger’s favorite part of his job is chasing the ducks off the roughs and fairways.

Ranger’s prized possession is a stick he found while working with his master, Barry, and Tom lehman while building the Victory Golf Club at Verrado. He doesn’t go anywhere without it!

MEET THE NEWEST MEMBER OF OUR TEAM Hello everyone, Born and raised in Colorado, i started working for the Country Club at Castle pines when i was 16. By the time i left – 13 years later – i worked my way through almost every operation at the club: busser, expo, bartender, pastry chef, halfway house, lead waitstaff (trainer/banquet/catering) and accounting assistant. During my time working there, i also was a single mom and full-time student. i started my bookkeeping consulting business as members began requesting accounting help. i finally completed my MBA from Regis University; and while applying for the CpA in Arizona, attained my MSA, also from Regis University. My passion for forensic accounting led to a position as a fraud manager for a student load company owned by a Castle pines member. My family moved to Arizona in 2012 where

i began working for a diamond wholesale company in Scottsdale as the Controller before moving to an anesthesia medical group in 2014.

My two wonderful children, elizabeth and Kevin, both attend ASU for engineering. in fact, my daughter, elizabeth, who is studying electrical engineering, is president of the Society for Women engineers. My son, Kevin, is working on his mechanical engineering degree and hopes to design engines and cars. i love to learn, travel, cook, ride motorcycles and 4x4s, work on cars with my son, and i’m a Scuba Divemaster who has been to some of the best dive locations, with more to explore! i am truly blessed to be here as the Controller at pinnacle peak Country Club, and i look forward to many more years!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The new Year is upon us, and we are looking forward to the beautiful winter weather we all enjoy in Scottsdale. i want to thank all of our Board Members for the time they gave during this incredibly trying year of 2020. Specifically, i would like to thank and recognize our departing Directors Mr. William iacono, Ms. Julie lenertz, and past president, Mr. Frank Scopetti, as they have gone above and beyond in their three years on the Board of Directors.

The Membership recently approved the Bunker Refurbishment project, with 68% percent of voting members in favor and 38% opposed. Your BOD will continue to monitor the COViD -19 situation specific to the start date of the project.

As you know, the COViD-19 situation remains very fluid. We plan to continue operating the Club following CDC Guidelines and under state and local government guidance. The restaurant will continue to work at 50% or less of its maximum occupancy for the foreseeable future. To assist with social distancing, we need to limit table seatings to a maximum of 6 to 8 people. As a guideline, please only seat as many people at a table as the table's number of chairs. The Fitness Center is limited to 6 participants at a time, and guests are nOT allowed. Members are required to wear face coverings over the nose and mouth at all times in the Fitness Center and throughout the building. You may remove your mask when seated at a table. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter as we strive to provide as safe of an environment as possible for our members, guests, and employees. Hopefully, this situation will improve this year, and we can return to the lifestyle our Members and Staff both prefer!

tHouGHt For tHe MontH 15 Pinnacle Peak country club

in each of the last three years, our dues have increased by $15 per month. This year, due to increases in health insurance, employee wages, additional clubhouse cleaning, and enhanced tree trimming our dues will increase by $25 per month for Regular, intermediate, and Junior members. Seniors, Senior Associate, and Social members' dues will increase by $12.50, respectively. We will also see an increase in the cart fee of $1.50. Bag storage fee has increased by $25 and locker fees have increased by $60 for half locker and $30 for a shoe locker annually. Golf service fee has increased by $40 for regular, intermediate and junior and $20 for Senior Members. These increases will drive approximately $185k of additional revenue (or just less than 3%), bringing our estimated 2021 revenues to $6.5 million. in 2020 we completed refurbishments to the on-course restrooms and range house, Men's and ladies locker rooms, Clubhouse restrooms, and the employee lounge. in 2021 or 2022, we will complete the extensive Bunker Renovation project using current capital funds. Future renovation projects include the kitchen, golf course maintenance building, and the pool area.

The monthly capital fee will be increased in 2021 by $50 monthly for Regular, intermediate, and Junior Members and $25 monthly for Senior, Senior Associate, and Social Members. This increase will reduce the risk of a potential assessment in the future by producing an additional $285k annually to the capital funds.
